Hampton's Diet

The Hampton’s Diet was created based on the Atkins Diet. It was developed  by a medical doctor, Dr. Pescatore. It is a low carb diet like Atkins, with a few different ideas added in. It was created to help people eat more vegetables, fish and omega 3 fatty acids. It also allows you to eat the other food groups in moderation.

The Premise

The Hampton’s Diet is a high protein diet. It suggests eating organic foods rather than regular high protein foods. Organic foods are great for the body but tend to be a little more expensive. It also discourages eating processed foods. Processed foods have more fat and preservatives added that are not good for the body. The Hampton’s Diet also suggests using macadamia oil instead of using olive or canola oil. The macadamia oil offers many healthy benefits, but it costs a lot more than olive or canola oil.

The Hampton’s Diet

The diet is full of high proteins and low fat foods. When following the Hampton’s Diet you are able to eat vegetables, fish and other high protein foods. You are also allowed carbs, fruits, milk and alcohol in moderation. This diet was created to help people lose weight fast and keep it off. For breakfast you are able to eat egg dishes such as scrambled eggs or even homemade muffins. For lunch you can eat salad or sandwiches as long as the bread is made with whole grain. For dinner, you can eat fish and vegetables.

The Hampton’s Diet plan is set up in three different stages. In Stage 1 you will eat 23 to 26 grams of carbs per day, and lose up to 10 pounds. In stage 2, you will eat 40 to 43 grams of carbs per day. In stage 3 you will eat around 65 grams of carbs per day. The final stage is set up to help you to keep the weight off long term. This diet is more of a lifestyle change, rather than just a diet.

What to Get Excited Over

This diet is a healthy lifestyle change since it doesn’t forbid you from eating certain foods. It just teaches you how to eat more healthy and add more vegetables in your diet. You are allowed to eat the other food groups in moderation so you will not feel deprived.

Things to Consider

This diet will teach you to eat more healthy, but you will still need to add exercise into your plan. By adding exercise you will increase your chances of losing the weight and keeping it off. Other things to consider are the use of the macadamia nut oil instead of other oils. This oil is expensive and not as commonly found as the other oils.

The Verdict

Recommended. This diet is better that the Atkins high protein diet in the fact that you are able to eat more vegetables. You are also able to eat other foods in moderation so you don’t feel deprived. As long as you enjoy the other foods in moderation and include exercise in your diet, there should be great results.
