Hello all! I have just picked up the YOAD book and am fascinated by the sense it makes regarding my yo-yo diet and sweet craving phenomenon. I am currently just counting my calories and am not ready to dive into this diet just yet but definitely see this as a life-long way of eating life. Any one here on this long term? Would love to hear your experiences with it.

Ive been eating this way since last february Maggie,,,I committed to eating this way forever now. I got alot of *aha* moments from the book. I re-read it after the summer. I had a small gain this summer..normally I gain back everything Ive lost. Not this year..its now gone and took some friends with it. I find Im starting to not have to think about what Im eating nowadays..hopefully this will last and just keep getting better. Im now down 40 pounds and have a long way to go......
Glad you joined us..... |

Did any of you see Oprah today? She featured some viewers who have lost significant amounts of weight - 150# or more. Bob Greene was on as well - I'm not really a fan of him, but one thing he did say really hit home with me.
He said that women can't get away without exercising unless they eat perfectly every day. And since none of us can always be perfect, we really need to work exercise into every day in order to maintain or lose weight. I've been pretty good on my food for the past 3 days - not perfect, and the amounts are maybe a bit high, but it's been better than it's been in a long time. For some reason I am really struggling with getting my eating back on track - I think it might be the stress at work - I'm definitely a stress eater. Any ideas for what I could do for a quick breakfast? I need something I can take to work and eat in a meeting or while on a conference call. I'd like to come up with a recipe for a bar or muffin I can bake on the weekends - I don't want to use store-bought bars if I can avoid doing so. Let me know what's been working for you gals. Cindy |
I totally agree w/ Bob Greene, I know I'd never have lost as much weight as I did without exercise.

I walk every day for 30 mins...Ive also started to do tai chi...I need the exercise..makes me feel so much better.
