Hi all!

Wow, I can't believe all the things I have been depriving myself of. I am 35 and just had my first beet today. I had to do a search on how to cook these things, I did and they were good. My mom was a great cook but only made what she liked and looking back I'm thinking she must not have been very fond of many fruits and veggies. I'm thinking of the other things in the produce isle I have never given a try and thinking this is gonna be great...my kids probably not so excited;). But I can work on them one bite at a time:).

Patti....I am now also a steel cut oat reheater eater.:D I have been experimenting and my two favorite oats are pumpkin w/ pumpkin pie spice, chopped pecan, and a little splenda or a cap full of real maple syrup...and...diced apple w/ cinnamon chopped walnuts or pecans and a little splenda or maple syrup.

I have gotten some really great walks in the last couple of days but none today. When 8:30 rolls around I just don't feel like it anymore. I really need to make walking a priority in my day tomorrow, evenings just don't work for me.

I did make a big U turn already today, but I made it and that's all that matters. Usually a slip up this early in a normal weightloss plan would cause me to go off and not look back. Could this WOE be my new "normal".

I don't like sticking to a definate "plan", so I have been staying away from the two week plan in the book...is that ok?

Hope your weekend is going good!

Hey gals, I'm back!

Glad to see you talking about recipes and cooking - I really need to get myself back on track with that. It's literally been months since I've made myself my steel-cut oats and/or cooked more than one meal in a week. And now, after the cruise food, I really need to get myself back on track. I don't even want to see what the scale says!

The good news about our honeymoon is that it was very busy and entailed a lot of walking. That is a good thing as I'm somewhat back in condition in terms of some endurance for physical activity.

Also, because of jet-lag I've been up since 5am this morning - perhaps I can use that to my advantage and keep this schedule. I really need to get up by 5:30 in order to get my workout schedule back on track!

Today will be about laundry, organizing, unpacking, grocery shopping, food planning, and making a huge U-turn, in no particular order. I loved the time away, but it's good to be home!

Lost 3 pounds in the first day. 5 more to go by the end of the month! My TOM is ending as well as me being on plan, so just really good timing I suppose. Makes it easier to stay on plan though when you see a difference right away!

Hi Cindy, welcome back (to reality)! My husband and I also went on a Mediteranean cruise for our honeymoon, two weeks of heaven. But that was 12 years ago already!

Iwanawurkit 10-14-2007 02:38 PM

Pumpkin pie spice? Wow.....that sounds yummy! I am going to have to give that a try.........mmmm, I am starting to salivate just thinking of it.

Welcome back Mrs. Cindy!!!!! Glad to see you can make the jet lag work for you. Did I tell you all that some other girls on another thread have made a little contest out of the plan? Six of us met for the first time in Las Vegas and we have decided....whomever can lose the highest percentage of weight between now and the first of the year.....the winner picks where we will all meet next summer. I am going to try like crazy to be the biggest loser!!!!!
Vegas was fun but I think I want to vacation in Florida on the Gulf side. Yay!!!! Maybe do some Parasailing.......

I need to lace up my sneakers and get moving! Hope everyone has a fantabolous day!

Welcome back Cindy......Im glad you had a wonderful honeymoon...sounds so romantic being on a cruise! Yes we are talking recipes and exercising!! yeah for us!!
Yesterday wasnt a good day for me..I was out of town..little choices for supper so I had a submarine sandwich,,made with low fat ham and lots of veggies and no mayo..just mustard. It was sooo good..first one Ive had since last spring. Then came home and ate more bread....wow...not sure where that carb craving came from..Im thinking hidden sugars in the sub. I will plan better next time. The good thing was I knew choices wouldnt be good...so I had a very light lunch. The scale was good this morning.
Im going to have to try the pumpkin oats as well..I do find I enjoy the apple steel cut oats better if I cook the apples in the oatmeal while its being reheated. Makes them a little softer.
ok im off to work here...
glad to see the site busy again!!
big wave goodbye!!

Iwanawurkit 10-15-2007 09:56 PM

My daughter graduated from Hair Design school so now her schedule isn't as crazy......she said she will be my walking buddy. Went for a walk with her and my youngest son tonight as we looked at the Halloween decorations. It was a beautiful day....got up to 85 degrees....it isn't usually that warm this time of the year but it sure made for some great walking weather. Thought I would poke my head in and say "Hey" to you all!

cakses 10-16-2007 01:13 AM

Last two days been on and off plan, so the scale is teasing me. Planning out tomorrow's food though so I don't get caught out and about.

Iwanawurkit 10-16-2007 09:57 AM

Yay!!!!! The official weigh in day is here and the scales are showing a 2 pound loss!!!!! I will take it. I weighed in yesterday and it showed a 4 pound loss so that is how my weight fluctuates. I will try to weigh in once a week and not cheat and get on the scales before my official weigh in day......I was a little discouraged when I seen it was only 2 lbs this morning.

cakses 10-16-2007 01:41 PM

Back on plan today. Did alright yesterday until dinner and had subway with a coke - bad girl! Wish I liked diet...just have to cut it out is all!

p.a. 10-16-2007 08:50 PM

try water cakeses.......i miss water now if i dont drink it. I actually feel thirsty.

Iwanawurkit 10-18-2007 10:05 AM

Aughhhhhh I was very good for 9 days in a row and I fell off the wagon yesterday. I had pumpkin bread for breakfast, hot banana pudding with lunch and pizza and breadsticks for supper. I didn't go walking because of the rain......I know excuses..excuses ...excuses. Back on track this morning but I can tell you I wasn't feeling very good about myself yesterday and I had a hard time going to bed last night.
