Newbie Here
:hello: My name is Julie. I am 44 years old and have been over weight all my life. I was diagnosed April 2001 of having type 2 diabetes. I am on Medication for the diabetes as at first I was on diet and exercise alone but after about 3 years of that it wasn't working for me as of will power so Dr. put me on Actos and Ameryl daily. I got on the scale April 1st and I just cried my eyes out to my husband and children. It read ""300"" lbs. This is my hightest weight I have every been and I thought now is the time to start getting serious here about my weight as for I wanna live a little longer. So, I mentioned to the ladies I work with and the One lady had the Booklets for Weight Watchers 123 success and I started on it. I have lost 5 lbs since April 1st and Hope to continue. So, I thought with joining here, We can all help one another. Now, with being this weight it says in the book i can have up to 35 points. Shall I eat all 35 points or eat to the smallest number of 28?? Julie in Pennsylvania |
Good Morning Julie and :welcome3:
I just started ww on Monday (2nd time) Im doing a low carb ww....so far so good. My advice? Dont think about the number you weigh...it can be quite daunting to think about how much you have to loose. So take it 1 lb at a time, get your exercise in, and eat all your points. Good Luck to you :) |
Hi julie....
Just start and don't look back! Keep posting and know that we are all pointing with ya... Eat all of your pts you won't be as hungry. I've lost seven pounds so far... |
Congrats to you for getting started...that is always the hardest part.
I think the number of points you eat depends on each person. I've seen people post that they lose fast when they eat all of their points, and some say if they eat that many consistently then lose slower. Maybe you could start somewhere in the middle..32 or 33?...and see how it goes. Good luck! |
