Red face WW 1st Timer-Will Do @ Home

Hello !
I am ready & willing to start a new lifestyle change. I've been weaning myself off sweets & pop slowly & now I'm done with them. (well sweets I can now moderate) I want to do WW @ home. The kit is 100 bucks. Is it worth it to buy or should I get it from ebay ? I never did WW & want to do this myself but need to know how do I know how many points to stay with in a day & I need the book that has points for all the foods. I am also adding exercise in now slowly so I can get that going to. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi Dawn

Welcome to WW at Home. It's definitely worth having some info at hand - I refer to mine all the time. I did WW meetings for 13 weeks a few years ago and bought the points book and a few recipe books so this time round, I just bought a few more cookbooks and a points calculator online. If you can get them cheap on Ebay, go for it. There's also a wealth of information on this awesome site - how many points you should have etc and the point values of a huge range of food, along with a ton of great recipes.

Good luck with getting the info, and good luck with your weight loss journey. You're welcome to join the weekly weigh-in thread if you wish, you can post as often as you like. It's great to have a support system to keep you motivated.

What I would do is go to a meeting and join for $30 (in my area) and buy the books with the food lists while there ($6 each) and any other goodies that appeal. Stay after the meeting and get instruction on the program.

You could also join the online program and order the books. Best Wishes whatever you do!

Hi Dawn! Another Michigander!! I've gone to the meetings since Oct and haven't really worked the program and now it's just gotten too costly so I too am trying the at home version. This site has a great points list..it has everything!!!! And I love to cook and have quite a few good recipes I can share. I'd love to get some in return.
Feel free to post your food log. I'll have to be really good at keeping one because that's when I fall off...when I stop writing everything down!
Good luck and hope to see you here again!!
