Tanya - we'll need a companion for Buck as horses are such social animals - I've been thinking about a donkey! When I was growing up, we had a donkey next door; his name was Rupert and I adored him. I got thrown off my horse when I was 15 and broke my collarbone, but it didn't stop me. I'm thrilled to be living where I can reincarnate my childhood! - and all I wanted to do then was move to the city!

Running into the thread to say "hi" and back out. Sorry I was scarce - busy week. I started a second part-time job. I'll be back later to read the posts and write more.

Emily - That's what's so great about having two different plans - you get to choose what's best for you! I'm sure you'll be back to losing weight like gangbusters after your break.
Tanya - sorry to hear that you strained your back. I find that my back can take more if I am religious about doing ab/core work. I hope your son is feeling better. Karen - Wow! A horse? That's sounds so wonderful and it's such great exercise too. I love horseback riding although I hardly ever get to do it. I'm sure dancing most of the night at the wedding will help with the not-so-good food choices. Snow? With the exception of the blizzard, we haven't had any but it still doesn't quite feel like Spring even if it's starting to look like it. Today the temp should get up to the high 40's. My hip has been pretty good with the exercise. The tapes I have been doing are functional fitness - the moves are based on the kinds of things you need to do everyday. When I was reading about them on videofitness.com, a number of people said that the tapes had actually helped some achy places. I do the tapes from once to three times a week and never on consecutive days, and my hip has not been bothersome. Good strategy for working on the evening snacking. I'll have to be careful on Friday - Tony is going on a business trip Fri-Sun. Mmmm, that ham and pea soup sounds yummy! Carla - You must be so busy! What is the second job? I hope things are going well. I am thrilled to report a 2 pound loss!! That's the most I've lost in a week in, well, I can't even remember the last time. Now part of it I'm sure is that I had a 24 stomach virus on Thursday - went home from work. Still, I'm thrilled. I've lost 3.6 pounds so far in March and am trying to get it to 4 pounds by my next weigh-in, on April 1st. Today will be a bit of a challenge. We're going over to my mom's for dinner for my birthday which is coming up this week. I plan on having a piece of cake and am going to go earn a bunch of AP's from one of my new tapes to help the points. That's not so much of a problem - I jsut tend to overeat when I'm there. Dinner will be mostly Core foods - a few points in addition to the cake. I just have to try to slow down and listen to my inner "full" meter. Have a great one! Judy |
Last week I tried to start weight watchers on my own............ Seemed stuff just kept coming up, so today is day 1 for me. I will weigh in on Sundays! If you don't mind i will join in here and weigh in so I know I will be on track. I do better in a group.....
Hopefully my counter will go down this week! |
Hi Ciarra, welcome! Congratulations on your 4lbs lost so far.
Judy - that's a really awesome loss - you must be thrilled to bits! Yup, snow, and still lots of it, although it's melting fast. We're at about 3500', so we get plenty. I'm not used to not having daffs in full bloom by now! I know your birthday is very soon, but I forget exactly which day...? Do you have any plans for it? I joined WW Online yesterday...felt in need of some extra motivation. I'm going to change strategies and weigh in on Mondays now, hopefully will keep me more honest on the weekends. I start my new job tomorrow! I need to go and dig out something to wear - I've been in jeans for the last two months. Here's some :dust: for everyone for tomorrow. |
Karen ~ I've never lived on a farm but stayed with friends who did when I was young. We also house-sat for DH's aunt and uncle who have a farm a couple of Xmas's ago and it truly felt like home. Mind you it had an awesome backdrop - mountains crammed with lush green growth. It's always been something I'd love to have for the boys to get them to spend more time outside. A donkey? Okay I'm even more jealous now, lol. Thanks for the willpower dust - hope it works its magic on me as I seriously need help right now. WTG on joining WW online - hope it gives you the extra motivation you're after. Best of luck with your new job tomorrow.
Hi Carla ~ Sorry you're so busy right now. Looking forward to catching up with your news when you get a chance. Judy ~ WTG on your 2lb loss - no wonder you're thrilled. Sorry to hear you were sick this week. Enjoy your dinner with your Mum. I need to rediscover my full meter. I've fallen off the wagon big-time and just can't seem to get back on. I'm feeling a little down at the moment - not sure if it's attributed to the change in season or not but my motivation has dipped and I'm struggling. Nothing to report here. I even skipped exercise this morning without a good excuse. I'll be playing indoor soccer tonight, although I'm usually just goalie, but I guess it counts for something. I've eaten a lot of rubbish today and am now suffering with a headache. Why do I do this to myself?? Oh well, tomorrow's a new day. |
