Default Weigh in at Home 12/19-12/25

Hi all,

Ok, catching up from last week.

Judy - How great that you've been offered a permanent substitute position. It is a great next step and I'm sure a permanent position will be your's come the fall. I'm glad to hear that you had a good time in Vegas. I'm afraid that dark and smokey has been my general experience with casinos/hotels (Reno and Tahoe), which is why I'm not at all eager to visit Las Vegas. My nephew put his wedding on hold, so no telling when I'll ever get there. How is your hip doing? Better, I hope. Did you weigh in on Saturday? Sounds like you have the gain under control. Sing it with me sister (once again): 2006 is going to be our year. Right?

Karen - I envy you you're move to the country, although I know I'd never be happy away from a big city. Still, the peace and quiet and slower pace sounds so good to me right now. I'm glad to hear you got your FIL settled; it must have been a big load off your mind. Tell us about your new place. You may have mentioned whether you built new or bought an existing house, but I don't recall. I imagine that when you're ready to go back to work, you'll be able to find a nursing job, no problem. And yes we will be here daily in January and we WILL be moving and losing. You're right - I do NOT want to be on diabetes meds and I'd love to be off the blood pressure meds. The apnea continues on and really gets me down sometimes. That said, the last couple of days I've felt better rested than I have in a long time and I'm actually able to function. I think this break from work, from getting Ana off to school, etc. is going to be good for me.

Lynne - I hope you're feeling better.

Rachel - I continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Kelly - I think you were moving this month, no? Hope all is well with you.

I didn't hop on the scale last week and I didn't get any exercise in either. I'm really going to make my health my focus in 2006. To that end, when I ordered my 2006 refill for my Daytimer tonight, I ordered their new refill they did in conjunction with Prevention magazine. Now I just have to get back in the routine of using my daytimer every day.

Talk to you all tomorrow.

Just a quick post and run - I'm glad to have registered a 0.2 pound loss this past week. Considering the stress of the season, the fact that I can't do much in the way of exercise, the Secret Santa breakfast last Friday morning and the mini-binge I had last Thursday night, I'm pleased. I promise to get back here later in the week to respond to you, Carla and Karen (and anyone else who is still checking in) but right now I'm zonked. It's hard to get on during the day. Depending on who (if anyone) I'm subbing for tomorrow (today was 2nd grade) I may get a chance to get on during the day. If not, I'll try to tomorrow evening. Oh, and YES CARLA, 2006 will be OUR YEAR!!!!!

I stayed the same for the last 2 weeks, but with all the goodies and special dinners and stuff staying the same is better than a gain.
Things will be quiet for us for Christmas. We had the kids from Maine here last weekend and my son (18) will be with his girlfriends family.
My goal for the next couple weeks is to maintain and then after the holidays get back OP.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!!

Hi all,

Judy - Congrats on the loss! That's an accomplishment for sure, all things considered. I can understand how you're zonked when you get home. Being "on" for kids all day is exhausting. And I bet the littler ones are wound up beyond belief. When does your break start?

Kristie - Maintaining at this time of year is great. Congrats.

Ana has decided that she wants latkes. So I'm off to google a recipe.

Have a great day.

Hi all,

I've been on the prog since December 4. I don't do Christmas or other December holidays so the only stress I have is hearing cheesy music in stores while running errands.

This week's weight loss: 2 pounds.

Default I'm barely here

Hi everyone. There is so much to say and I am in such despair, but I'll try to keep it short.
It turned out that we were not able to go to my MIL funeral (the girls and I) because there was no life insurance and her husband had no money for the final arrangements, so the 3 kids had to come up with the money. Our $1500 plane tickets were not going to happen.
When my husband got home and off the plane, he told me he was not happy, had not been happy for years but had been lying to himself and to me, he wanted a divorce.
He has not grieved for his mother still, and is consumed with guilt and grief.
He also saw an ex girlfriend in CA and has been talking to her several times a day since the funeral, and last night told me he still as all the same feelings for her.
I am desperately trying to keep it together for my girls. I went to a counselor yesterday but so far he is refusing to go. I am so afraid he will never go, and he will ruin his whole life. When he realizes this, it will be too late.
I am trying not to jump to any conclusions and trying to remove my feelings from all of this and see his grief as an illness, but it's so hard. He has said so many hurtful things to me. I have visions of losing my home and devastating my children even more. If he doesn't get help I'm afraid he will either lose his job or just quit and run off to California to be with this woman.

His mother had depression and schizophrenia. I am afraid he his headed for a huge mental breakdown if he's not having one already. I have mentioned before to you all that depression has been an issue with him throughout the years.

Our 11th wedding anniversary is next week. God help me live through this.
I can't eat, sleep, I can't focus at work. My whole world is crashing down around me and I don't know what to do. I don't know how I'm going to put on a happy face at Christmas for the kids. I don't know how to even look at my husband when he has hurt me so deeply, let alone embrace him and still be there for him (even though I know he needs me to). He left yesterday to stay at his sisters. His sister has really been there for me and she realizes he is on the brink of disaster.
Please everyone pray for us. I feel so alone even though I have a lot of emotional support. I know in the end my girls and I will be okay, even if we have to move to an apartment and relocate. It just breaks my heart.
And to think of my husband in such pain, turning to basically a stranger instead of me, kills me.
Everyone pray he gets into counseling, please. That is the only hope I have left.

Good morning ladies! It appears that a few of us are in the Chicago area. I live in Earlville. I grew up in the Naperville area though. Earlville is approximately an hour west of Naperville. Are you all close to me? Small world!

Please don't take offense to my font. Some have said in the past that it looks huge to them. It is easier for me to read. I am not shouting or anything. And I don't mean to offend anyone by any means. I am sorry if this offends someone.

I am not new to 3FC or to WW. I have however been missing in action from 3FC for almost a month though. So I am trying to find my way back into the swing of things here.

I weigh in at home (meetings are to far for me to attend) on Thursday mornings. I have been thinking about weighing in every day though. But I think that might not be such a good idea.

For the past 3 weeks I have stayed the same. Which is better then gaining... but I would sure wish to lose something soon! But I think I really have to start laying down the law with myself first though. I have not been counting points. Which is not a big thing for me really because I never have eaten enough. However, it is not a good thing because that is not helping me at all. But I think (at least I hope) once I get back to counting everything I might see some changes.

It is Christmas break for my kids school. So things are crazy around here at this point. I am thinking after the kids go back to school that might be a good time to get things back going again!

Anyway, I am going to send this in and try and read your posts. If not now, I will read them later today. But I will try to read them now. I hope you all don't mind me jumping into your group this morning.

Carla,

Hi there. You stated in your first post here about a daytimer. What is that and how do you use it? I am assuming it is for your daily dieting. But I wanted to be sure. And maybe I could put that to use and have some success with it too.

I am pre-diabetic. I don't take meds or anything. But my doctor has not done to much for me. I am thinking of seeing another doctor. But I have not made up my mind yet. I have not been able to shed very much weight in about a year. Something has to give. But I am still pushing along trying to make weight loss a success. Maybe I could join you all in 2006 and we can all have success!

Rachel,

Good morning. I am sorry about all that you and your family are having to go through! I don't know exactly what to say. But maybe your husband don't know how to greive and this is how he is doing it. Since he is with your sister in law maybe she will talk some sense into him and he will see the light. I don't think he will listen to you. But he may see the light with his sister. Give him some time. However, don't allow yourself to be a doormat either. You can support him without allowing him to tear you down. Don't allow that, especially in front of your children. With his family medical history and his mothers recent death he is having a hard time. I don't feel that gives him any right to do what he is doing to you or your family. I would continue to seek counceling if that is helping you. Maybe one day he will go too. But as long as that is helping you that is all that matters right now. YOU are #1! Take care of you first.

I really wish I could be helpful with this. But I have not been through this. But I hope I was at least able to send you a comforting message or some sort and help a little.

Good Morning,

Rachel - thoughts and prayers to you. I'm sorry you're going through such an incredibly difficult time. Know that others are supporting you from afar.

Tracy - hi, and welcome! I don't get here as often as I'd like at the moment, but will be a daily contributor come the end of January. It's a hard time of year to lose, so staying the same for three weeks is great.

Welcome, Moon Jaguar, congratulations on your loss!

Good job maintaining, Kristie! Your goal is very sensible, IMO.

Carla, I have my daytimer all ready to go for 2006 too! Now to use it! I'll fill you in on the new place when I get back after Christmas - I'm just popping in to say hi before I leave. Will be back on Boxing Day.

Judy, congratulations on your loss! You must be almost done with school for the year?

I wish you all a safe and happy holiday. Here's to lots of losing in 2006!

Hi all.

Shanda - Welcome. A non-stressful December sounds very appealing right now.

Rachel - Oh sweetie. I'm crying for you. I wish I was there to give you a big hug. I most certainly will keep your family in my prayers. Your husband is in such a bad place right now emotionally. I hope that he can realize that this is not a time to be making major life decisions, that his perspective is off and that he needs to work through the grief. I know that holding it all together is hard right now, but you can do it. You're a strong woman Rachel. You have to be to be a nurse. You will get through this. And, if your husband does leave the marriage, you will make it. You have a good job, you can support yourself and your girls. You will be ok. Just hang on to that thought. I'll pray that your husband gets into therapy, gets on any meds that might be necessary, and thinks long and hard about any decisions he makes. And when things calm down, I hope you that you're able to take some time to just take care of yourself. I"ll be thinking of you and praying for you and the girls too.

Tracy - Welcome. I due north of Naperville, right up Rte 59, in Barrington. Please do join is in making 2006 our year. I think that getting back to counting points will help you, in that it kind of puts you in the "working the program" mode. DayTimer is a brand name for a daily planner/agenda, like a filo-fax or a Frankin planner. It's not specifically diet-related; I just happened to purchase the Prevention refills for next year and they are health-related. You can check it out at daytimer.com. If you feel your doctor isn't doing enough for you, then definitely do switch. I love my doc because he makes me a partner in my health care; but if push came to shove he wouldn't hesitate to dictate to me either.

Karen - Can't wait to hear about the new place! Merry Christmas and see you on Boxing Day.

I'm posting a 1.4 gain for the week. I've been tossing that weight back and forth for awhile now. Fortunately, we don't have a lot of hoopla to get through before or during the holidays, so my goal is sending that 1.4 pounds away again and making it stay away. And now off to finish the million and one things I have left to finish.

Yes! I know where Barrington is! There is a HUGE church out there I went to a few times when I was a kid! It has been forever since then. I can't remember the name of it. But it is huge.

Thanks for telling me about the daytimer! I am going to have to look into that. I was using a regular notebook to keep track of my food and exercise points. Which sounds about the same. But I am going to have to look into that. It sounds nice.

As soon as my kids start back to school and my routine goes back to normal I am going to start counting points, exercising, and testing my blood daily again! I need to kick my bottom into gear! I have a little over a week to do it in! I will rev myself up during this time.

Sorry about your gain this week! We are all going to start dropping them pounds though!!! We will succeed!

Tracy - You're probably remembering Willow Creek. It's even bigger now. You can find Daytimer pages (although just the basic ones) in office supply stores like Office Depot. You can find other similar items there as well.

YES! That's it! I think it is over 7000 people now. I beleive that is the place that was on the tv as the world largest church or something. It was a month or more ago that I seen it on tv. I can't remember for sure. All I remember is the line of cars was forever long when you went there! It is a nice place though. But it is way to big for me now lol. Living in the country for the past several years has changed me a bit.

I found my WW food diary journal! I am excited about that. I am going to start journalling my food intake and stuff today!! I am hoping anyway. I have had a rough night and it is a crazy day already today. But I do plan on getting myself back on plan like yesterday!

It was a rough night last night! You may have seen it on the news last night a red house in Joliet that was gutted by a fire? Well, that was my husband's cousins house!! Her 5 year old daughter and her boyfriend and some teenager was in the house! The fireman pulled them out.. they were all laying on the floor when they broke the door down. All of them are in the hospital in Chicago (Loyola) in critical condition. I am waiting here for the phone to ring with an update. All I know is that the two kids were flown by helicopter to the hospital and the boyfriend was taken by ambulance to the same hospital.

Here is a link to the article in the local paper this morning in case you want to read it: http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/h...23_FIRE_S1.htm

Red face Starting Again

Hello everyone. I found 3FC yesterday and loved it. I have to admit that I am a WW alumus...many many times over. I am determined to start again but this time I am doing it at home. I started yesterday by just counting the points that I ate and was shocked that I was 8 points over my range. Today I am in control and hopefully will stay on track using the Flex program. A few friends want to do this as a group but do not want to start until the new year. I don't want to wait that long. After all, Christmas just has one meal to worry about. So does New Year's eve. I can get a head start by keeping that in mind. I do need support however. I am looking forward to reading and answering posts here and so this is my start!
