And the doctor says.....????
So listen to this.....I just came back from my annual physical (with a new doctor) since we've recently moved and she was saying that ww's is a great program and losing weight should be a slow process.....but......you should only be eating about 1200-1500 calories. I guessed at 25 pts that it might be closer to 2000 calories and she was "uh no...only at 1200 will you lose weight" Anyone figure out how many calories per point range? Maybe I was totally clueless as to the calories per point range I eat, but I guessed at 5 fruits/veggies (400 cal)....2-3 dairy (400 cal)....protien (600 cal) and starches (300 cal) and fats (100cal) Okay, while figuring this out just now, my tallies are a little off but still over the 1200 calories. Any thoughts or comments on this?

I think your estimates are too high. Unless you are eating 5 bananas a day or something, your fruits and vegetables are going to average lower than that, especially if you lean toward the vegetables. I've heard that 50 calories per point is more like it. You have to take fat and fiber content into account, too.
At 25 points, you are going to be well within her guidelines. |
Really? phew.....I guess my 2000 calories was just that....a wild guess. Good thing I was wrong. Anyway, my dr. definitely approves of ww's and my progress. I knew I was doing well but without a set calorie limit, I just didn't know. thanks!
