It's Not Fair....

Who's goofy idea was it that Minit Rice is going to be 5 points per cup? :censored: It does not make sense to me. Rice is something you put with the other food. I like rice, but it is not like chicken. If you get a cup of rice, you are going to have more points on, in, beside, or under it! :bomb: I have the points, but I am not sure I wanna give them up for the fluffy stuff. It's just not fair.

Sorry... I just had to whine for a moment. Anyone else??

Yep, rice is a points buster. If it's any consolation, brown rice is a point lower. You might want to try other grains too. Cous Cous is generally lower and Kasha is 3 points for a cup.

If life were fair, Kung Pao chicken would be a diet food. Sigh.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't like brown rice (confirmed when I dumped a pan of it last weekend), but I LOVE cous cous. Unfortunately, I could eat a whole bowl if I didn't run away from it.

Sorry about the Kung Pao. Maybe the chicken will go on a diet soon...

I absolutely love rice. But who can eat only 1/2 cup??? Not me!!! So, unfortunately I shy away from it unless I'm using it as a filler, say for stuffed peppers or something like that. I'll try and substitute potatoes.

But you can't eat potatoes with Kung Pao, or Moo Shu Chicken, or.....I better stop. I'm getting hungry! ;)

Pearl barley is a good sub for rice at 3 points per cup! :)

I'd forgotten all about barley! Thanks for the reminder.
