think I'm going to try WW@home

give it a few weeks to see if I can
follow it on my own. My weigh in was on
Saturday mornings,so I'm gonna stay with
that.Anyone need a buddy?!?! :)

ctrsara 04-26-2011 05:41 PM

I am starting (again!) too... I want to get back to my "normal," pre-3-babies weight first (150-155). After that I'll reevaluate. I just want to get back there, even though I know I should really lose 20 lbs after that, too! WW has worked for me before (especially the first time, when I actually went to meetings - I lost 45 lbs over 9 months!) and I know it can again, but I have to improve my willpower. It is pretty much shot these days. I've been looking through all our recent pictures though, and hopefully that's all the motivation I need right now!

beliter 04-26-2011 06:16 PM

improve my willpower is gonna be a though
one! I lost 10#s the first few months I went
to the meetings,so I know I can do it if I can
just keep focused! We can do this :)

ctrsara 04-28-2011 05:49 PM

How are you doing, beliter? Are you staying focused?

I am trying really hard to. I have not quite hit my points the last few days (aiming for 25, and it's been like 28, 33, and today's already going to be a little over) but I guess that's what I'll be using my Flex Points on...

Erin27 04-29-2011 01:57 PM

I'm doing the weight watchers online program with points plus...I'm a weight watchers vetran and it usually works for about 6 weeks before I give up. This time around, since fruits and veggies are free (for the most part), I've stuck with it for 8 weeks and lost 23lbs to date. I'm hoping that success breeds success since I have about 120lbs more to go to my ultimate goal. Baby steps, I realize. My short term goals are to be under 250 by a destination wedding in FL on 5/14 and into the 240s by 6/11-another wedding that i'm in. Here's hoping!

FatGirlTale 04-29-2011 08:10 PM

Count me in! I am starting up from home by myself. I did it myself before and lost 20 lbs. I can't even remember why I stopped. So, here goes. I will start tomorrow.

I am going to use the old points system for now because it is what I know. I don't know much about points plus but when when I my favorite 1pt items was 2pts, I figured I would forget about the new system and stick with what has worked for others for decades.

I used a website to calculate my points...I get 29.

Hope you can all use another buddy!

beliter 05-01-2011 12:38 AM

Well,I haven't started yet cuz of the situations
with the weather here. As you may or may not
have heard of all the tornados here in Al,we've had no
power since Wed. when the storms started. We're all o.k.,
it was really scary. But, I'm going to try to start Mon.

Is the 29 with the new or old plan? You can't
figure your points on the new plan & do the old
way,does't work out right.
The more buddies the better!

jwillits 05-04-2011 03:51 PM

I went to the WW meetings and started the PP and it seems ok but I dont lose like all the rest. What are your secrets to lossing on the PP plan?

Erin27 05-04-2011 04:18 PM

Jwillits-my secret so far has been fruits, veggies and water. I'm a nursing mom, so i try to stick to the points that I would have if I wasn't nursing (instead of the extra 20 or so i get for nursing) which i'm sure helps. But saying that, even with that reduced number of points, I'm not starving and feel full most of the time. I don't know if you're already doing the fruits/veggies/water yet, but if you're not, give it a try....that's usually the secret to dieting success, as we all realize!

ctrsara 05-06-2011 11:38 PM

Beliter, I'm so sorry that you're involved in that! I'm glad you're okay, and it's pretty understandable that you haven't started working on it yet. My goodness!

If I get my veggies and fruits in, I do pretty well. If I don't, I feel snacky and hungrier and usually fail. Now if I could just remember that truth day to day...

beliter 05-07-2011 09:38 PM

ctrsara, thanks,it's been a stressful few days
but I'm soo thankful everyones o.k.
I'm planning on starting Mon.,I'm also gonna
weighin that morning.
I don't have a problem with the fruits & veggies,
mines the oils & water.I'm gonna sit down
tonight & plan out my week, gotta stop by the
grocery store tomorrow.
Hope you have a Happy Mothers Day!

MeltinMom 05-09-2011 04:23 PM

I hope you can use another person on this thread. I too do the w/w from home. I found all my information online and use the 'old' flex way & love it! I have lost 38 pounds in 17 weeks.

Ditto! Except the 38 lbs in 17 weeks! I started yesterday. My day start at 3 pm...I work nights. Any night shifters out there?

jwillits 05-10-2011 11:08 AM

That sounds great to me. More veggies and fruit. I love to eat ff chips do you think that is to much? I am gaining again and I have to stop before its to late. 38 lbs in 17 days that sounds great, keep it up.

amandie 05-10-2011 02:45 PM

Hi, hope you could use one more? :) I'm currently on momentum/flex plan, a bit nervous about points plus but I've been thinking maybe I will make the switch when I get closer to my final goal weight(136-139.) I've lost 30lbs since Jan 25th, about 60 more to go! :carrot:

Jwillits- 17 weeks, not days. FF chips should be okay as long as you are within your points. :) You have to play with the points to see what works for you because some can lose with eating all of their weekly points, some can only eat half of weekly points, and some others can't eat any. All trial and error but you'll be so much happier once you find how many WP you can have and still lose along with your daily points.

Moobunny- I used to work graveyard shift, 12am to 8am, for 4 years. Definitely not doing that again, lol but $$ talks, eh?! I was calorie counting at the time and still lost.

beliter 05-11-2011 02:10 PM

Hey all,hope everyones doing great.
It's been o.k. here,still haven't been able
to do the grocery shopping that I need
cuz most of the shelves are still empty, but I'm
managing.I've been walking atleast 1-1.5 miles
a day.

MeltinMom 05-11-2011 02:15 PM

Got some walking in today & feeling really good. I started at a size 20 and went into a store today to try stuff on and the 14s fit me! Such a great feeling to keep going. Started out needing to lose about 65 and have 26 more to go :)

amandie 05-11-2011 04:35 PM

That's awesome, MeltinMom!!! I can't wait to get into 14s! I started out 22/24 depending on brand and now 18s are getting a bit loose but 16s are still too tight/small. :carrot:

MeltinMom 05-22-2011 10:54 AM

How's everyone doing? I lost 1.5 pounds this week ... bought some size 12 capris and size 11 jeans (can do them up, but can't wear them yet - too tight) so inspiration to lose more! I try to keep a couple pairs of bottoms to 'shrink' into. Does anyone else do that?

Tea Granny 05-22-2011 11:51 AM

I buy a few pairs of pants to shrink into :) I can just barely get them on an almost need the jaws of life to get out of them:) The last ones I bought like that ( in Feb) now need to be worn with a belt:) I have been doing WW at home since Dec 28 using the really onld 1-2-3 Success plan ( one of the first points counting plans I think, from about 1997-98) it worked for me then and I reached the weight loss goal - what didn't change was the mind set-I thought that " now I'm done with that, and I can go back to eating like normal"...NOT!!!! Now I have the added post menopause and IR to add to the mix, but I consistently lose about 1 pound a week. :)

MeltinMom 05-22-2011 12:45 PM

That's great news Tea Granny - keep it up! Very cool to know that pants that you once had a hard time getting on and off are now being worn with a belt!! wtg :)

beliter 05-22-2011 04:37 PM

looks like everyones doing great :) I weigh in in the morning, don't think I lost any pounds but my clothes are loser.

beliter 05-23-2011 05:29 AM

I knew my WI would't be good,+3! I have a really hard time with wkends. Even after Taco Bell Sat. I still stayed in my points range, but Sun. was a different story. I didn't even count:( was gonna change my WI day, I really need to learn to control my wkends.

MeltinMom 05-25-2011 08:52 PM

beliter at least you know where your problem lies. can you save all your weekly points for the weekend? that way you have your cushion? or exercise in the morning on the weekends to allow yourself a few extra points? I believe activity points must be used on the same day.

AP's function the same way weekly points do. You can use them at any point during the week. You can also set up your tracked to deduct extra points from AP's FIRST, then weeklies if you so choose.

I weigh in on Saturday mornings, and I allow myself to be more flexible on the weekends as a result. I will go out to dinner with my DH, get together with friends, have a few drinks... Then I have the rest of the week to keep to my routine, stay on plan, exercise regularly. I've lost 18 pounds in eight weeks, so it seems to be working for me so far!

dorisdayfan 05-27-2011 12:33 AM

I am starting WW Flex Points at home tomorrow. These are the materials I have from years ago so I'm just gonna use them. I am excited to get back in the routine of walking after a long hiatus!

kbj0123 05-29-2011 09:38 PM

I restarted PP program on Saturday. I recommitted to myself on Friday night, and jumped right into it on Saturday. I am enjoying zero points fruits, it really motivates me to eat well. Good luck everyone. I weigh in on Friday.

faith65 05-30-2011 11:40 PM

Hi Faith65 =)

Doesn't matter how many times you've tried before. Now is your chance to commit entirely.

We're all here at 3FC to support each other when the going gets tough and every time in between.

You've found the WW section, but there are a ton of other areas so don't hesitate to post and participate!

Best of wishes!
