Hi Everyone,
Hope all my American friends are enjoying their long weekend. Still struggling with the computer; we did an upgrade to XP and have had numerous crashes. Things still aren't great, but it's at least usable.
Foodwise, I've been struggling with motivation for a week now, and have made some poor, poor choices. Exercise has been okay, in fact I'm on my way out with the dogs now. I didn't weigh in on Wed last week coz I was quite bummed out. Things are looking good for today. Will check in tomorrow.

Karen B - thanks for the holiday wishes. I hope you had a better day yesterday and some of the motivation has come back. Here are some motivational {{{{HUGS}}}}!
I had a pretty good weekend. I had a 0.2 loss which I was very happy with. I made a few bad choices over the weekend but did well yesterday. We did a ton of gardening over the weekend which was wonderful and I did a cardio & weights workout yesterday. I'm absolutely swamped with work this week so I'll get here as often as I can - I just may not be able to respond to everyone.
I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Judy - glad you had a good weekend, and congrats on your loss! We've been busy with the gardening too. Thx for the cyberhug!
Tonight I'm starting rowing lessons with two girlfriends, so that will count as a bit of a workout! Ate well y'day and journalled everything.
Better go, I see it's time to head to work.
Have a good day everyone,
Karen B

Hello everyone.
KarenB- keep on moving in the right direction. My motivation seems to come in spurts sometimes too.... Look at the positive..you're exercising consistently! Good job. The rest will follow in time. Have fun rowing tonight...sounds like your arms may be aching a bit tomorrow.
Judy- Way to go on your loss! Yahoo! Drop in when you can...I had an extremely busy time at work myself last week. Sure is nice when it calms back down.
I didn't have a meeting last night becuz of the holiday. So, I'll have to wait until next week for my reward. Tony and I put in 4 cubic yards of rock yesterday in our landscaping so I am one sore lady today. I skipped the treadmill yesterday morning knowing we would be doing the rock, and I skipped today because I think I had one heck of a workout yesterday. Kind of dragging today though so I may hop on the treadmill for a bit tonight. Have a great one!

Hi everyone.
Karen B - Glad to hear that yesterday went better for you. I know all about that struggle for motivation. Hang on and you'll get past it. You've done so well and you'll continue doing so. Rowing classes sounds fun and it will be a great workout.
Judy - Congrats on your loss! Hope things aren't too hectic for you this week. Stop in when you can.
Angie - That's a lot of rock to haul! Sorry you had to miss your weigh-in. Next week's will be twice as good!
I had a pretty good weekend. I didn't consistently make wise choices and I did faithfully journal all weekend. But I did get in my 8 glasses of water each and every day. Weekend water intake has been a challenge for me, so I was happy to have accomplished that. We'll see what tomorrow's weigh-in brings.
Have a great day.

Angie - sounds like you had quite a strength workout moving those rocks! I can just imagine how sore you are!
Carla - good for you for journalling consistently and getting that water in especially if water is tough for you on the weekends! Good luck on the weigh in but no matter what the number is, congratulations on your weekend accomplishments!
I had a pretty good day yesterday. I did not exercise when I got home but plan on doing a 1/2 today - I need the stress release. Work is crazy and is going to be that way for a while but it certainly makes the day go faster - yesterday it was almost 2:30 before I realized I hadn't had any lunch. I did OK last night snack wise even while watching the Yankee game. We hardly get to watch these days - there's this new Yankee network that our cable company isn't carrying (it's a big bruhaha in NY) so Tony & I only get to see maybe 2 out of every 10 games. I'd better run - lots to do!
Have a great Water Filled Wed,
Judy

Hi Everyone;
Angie - sounds like a major workout moving all that rock! How's the landscaping going? That's the great thing about doing hard physical work - you don't have to fabricate extra exercise!
Carla - good for you for getting in your water on the weekend. I tend to guzzle at work, and forget to do it at home these days. I have to readopt my old rule "thou shalt not sit at thy computer without a large glass of water".
Judy - good for you for going easy on the snacking last night! Hmmm, I'd have to be pretty darn busy to forget that it's lunch time.
Rowing was fun; there are nine in our group. Learned about the boats and boat parts etc. Didn't do much actual rowing, but it was great to be out on the water. Rained like stink, so we were pretty soaked by the time we were done. It's Tuesday and Thursday evenings for five weeks.
Weighed in plus 2 lbs today. I fully expected the gain, and need to be diligent toH get trid of it over the next couple of weeks.
Hope you're having a good day...

Hi everyone.
Judy - Oops - my post should have said I didn't journal consistently. Sounds like you are really busy at work. You're right though, it does make the day go quickly. Good job keeping your snacking in control, especially during a Yankee game.
Karen - Sorry to hear about your gain. But you'll get it right back off. I'm sending you some good vibes to get back in the groove. Rowing sounds fun; rowing in the rain does not. Hopefully you'll have better weather the rest of the time.
I'm reporting a 1.4 pound loss today. I'm going to focus again this week on journaling and water and will continue to do so until they're habits. Then I'll move on to the next thing.
Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning Ladies, I hope you have all been well. I have not been in work this week, working at bosses house without my computer.
Got back from CT on Monday and tried to make wise food choices, but that lasted until Sat night, Sunday and Monday were a wash. The kids did great and won the Championship for their division so that made the trip worth while. When we got home our hot water heated decided to die and with the holiday I refused to pay double-double overtime with a 4 hour mimimum so I had no hot water (or shower) for 2 days. Things are pretty much back to normal and I have decided that I am going to make June-July 4th my Get Serious time. No more slacking off!! July 4th I am having a large party/clam bake and I know I will fall off then so from this Sat. until then it is back to the basics. I need to shed these last 7 pounds, if for nothing else to prove to myself that I can. I have been stuck at 152 for so long now, I am starting to think my scaled is broken.
One of my back to basics is to try and get here everyday like I was before, you are all so helpful and supportive I know that is what helped my weight loss.
Have a wonderful day, going back to bosses later so if I dont get back have a wonderful weekend too.

Just a quick note to keep in touch-I'll come back later with more details. I had an incredibly "off" weekend at my parent's in Michigan and it was wonderful for dealing with the burnout I've been feeling at work. I figured I'd pay dearly on the scale, but I actually maitained!!!! I'm considering this a gift and I'm back OP.
I'm watching the closing of Ground Zero right now and want to give my full attention as it deserves.
Extra hugs to all of you and your families.

Hi everyone.
Looks like everyone is busy this week. I should be, but I'm finding it very hard to stay focused here at work.
Michele - Good to see you again. Congrats to Bobby for his team's championship. Must have been very exiting for him. And for you too! I have every confidence that you'll remain focused between now and July 4th and will get those last 7 pounds off.
Kristen - I'm glad to hear that your weekend away helped de-stress you. Congrats on that maintain!
I didn't get in all my water yesterday, so I'm going to throw down a few extra glasses today. Four more weeks here at work and then I'm free. I cannot wait.
Have a great day everyone.

Karen B - Sorry to hear about the gain. There's nothing like one to get us focused again though. I'm sure you'll do well. That rowing sounds like fun and it is great exercise. It's great to get exercise when you do something that's fun - I think it helps to be consistent.
Carla - congratulations on that great loss! I think your plan sounds good - how did you do with your water yesterday? How has your journalling been? If I had only 4 weeks to go, I'd have a problem staying focused too!
Michele - congratulations to Bobby and his team. Your June-July 4th plan sounds like a good one. I have every confidence that you'll make it.
Kristin - sorry to hear about weekend - it's hard not to turn to food to deal with work stress. I don't always succeed (or else I'd be at goal ;-) but I've been trying to do a little exercise if I'm feeling especially burnt out. I thought the closing of Ground Zero was done so well.
I've had a couple of decent days program-wise. I exercised when I came home on Wednesday and it really helped deal with some of the stress. I had PT yesterday and also did a bit of a new step tape which was fun but I twisted something in my ankle so I think today will be a rest day - maybe I'll do some abs. Work was very crazy yesterday - somewhat frustrating and aggravating too. I think it really helped that yesterday was a lo/no carb day because my snacking was restrained - I went over by 1 but had more than that in the food bank. I don't have any challenges coming up this weekend which is good because next weekend we're having my father's 80th birthday party at our house.
Karen C and Pat - I hope things are well
Have a great weekend if I don't get back here today,
Judy

Good morning everyone-
I'm starting to feel anxious about not exercising recently. Things are very chaotic with the kids and work. Next week I'm a chaperone/volunteer at a 3 day camping trip with all the 5th graders at my son's school. I think I must be on another planet to think I'll come out of that unscathed. I finally got the t-shirt order in for the school's field day, now I just have to get the rest of it organized. I'll be sooo glad when school is over this year.
Judy - I agree that the closing of Ground Zero was done very well. It was respectful and very dramatic in its simpleness. I, of course, cried. The whole concept of what happened on 9/11 is difficult for me to come to terms with. I still can't watch the video from that day without getting sick. What's your progress on the lo/no carb days? I'm impressed that you're so good about exercising. It makes me feel good when I do it but it always seems to be the 1st thing bounced off my schedule when I'm crunched for time.
Carla - Nice loss! Those 4 weeks will be gone before you know it. I'm looking at about the same timelength of torture until things get easier so maybe we can cheerlead each other through it.
Michelle - A short term goal for July 4th sounds like a great idea. I'm going to focus and shoot for 10 lbs gone forever by then. There. I've written it so now I'm committed to it. This message board(and all of you)keeps me facing these challenges. Success is so sweet when shared.
Angie - I like using my gardening as my exercise but I don't think I could've hauled all that rock. You go girl!
Karen - Rowing sounds like fun. All that upper body workout is good strength training. Imagine how good you'll look in sleeveless shirts!
Have an OP weekend(with lots of water, of course).

Kristin - I still have a lot of difficulty with 9/11 too as do so many. I'm not downtown much since my office moved to midtown but when I am there (my dentist & podiatrist are downtown) it's especially hard. Same thing when I'm driving and see the skyline. It doesn't look like my city's skyline anymore. I'm doing OK on the lo/no carb days although I don't like them. I must be a carb addict 'cause I find myself getting cranky by the evening. Still, I'm going to keep it up because I do find that it helps control my snacking, it's only twice a week and it's for my health. Heck, I love eggs and cheese and can't eat them as often as I'd like because of my cholesterol - that's just the way it is. That 3 day camping trip sounds like quite a lot but I bet you'll get a whole lot of exercise.
