Should I wait to by the WW kit?

So I have heard that WW is going to change the plans a little in the coming weeks. I was planning on buying the 2008 kit on Ebay but I heard the plan will be different so I wanted to get some more info on it before I buy it. Specifically the core plan will be changing. It will have a different name and the food list will also be different. Not sure if the flex will be the same.

Does anyone have any info on this? I'm not sure if I should wait to get the new plan or buy the 2008 edition? :?:

The Canadian WW public website refers to "Simply Filling" - a change to be made to Core in 2009, and has to do with portion control, among other things.

Should you wait? Well, if you're in a good mind set now, I wouldn't wait if I were you. Don't put off doing something good for your health. If you want the new materials, you can go to a meeting when the changes are announced and pick the initial ones up at that time.

Thanks that's a great point. I am doing WW currently from a borrowed set of materials. I did WW about 6 years ago and somehow in my move I lost all my stuff! So I am borrowing some of the stuff from an aunt. I will need to get new materials as I am moving again. I just didn't know if I should wait to see the new plan and continue doing what I am until it comes out or if I should wait for the new one. I currently do not go to meetings so I'm not sure how I would get the materials except for on the WW website.

Hmm thats tough because this year I ordered the Weight Watchers materials online around February and they were still sending out OLD material (I got the old food companion books etc) because they had it in stock.
I was not happy and called and complained and got the new stuff.

If I was you though I would wait and get the new materials. You already have the old stuff and can do the plan.

BTW did you know you can go to a center and buy the booklets etc. You just cant buy the lil info book.

Also those ebay kits are often missing stuff because its against WW policy to share the program and they enforce it strictly! Have you thought about buying directly from WW. ?

I think I might wait! I never thought of going to the center to buy the stuff. I always hear about people buying the kits offline through Ebay or other sites. I'm trying to save a little money but I might just end up joining. I guess I will be waiting either way and see how I feel at the beginning of the new year. Thanks for the advice! :D

kritter id wait bc first of all the ebay kits may be cheaper but its not the real kikts due to it being illegal to sell real materials. all it is is food companions

I heard they are making some changes in 2 weeks anyway, but our leader said they weren't huge, but some things were changing...

kritter, andrea is right. Why waste money on an obsolete program?

Wait until 12/7, go to your WW center, and join! Usually around the holidays they offer free registration too.

That doesn't mean you can't watch what you eat until then, but even for me the thrill is gone, now that I know the plan I'm on (Core) is new and improved and Core will be gone after December 7th. But I'm still following it until I get the new and improved model!

The changes are big and will be released next Sunday. Go to one meeting and get the new materials. And they will explain it so you are off to a good start.
