At Home Support Group....12-9 to 12-16

Morning Girls! I thought that I'd get us started for the new week. This one ends 9 days before Christmas! Wow......time is flying by! Be strong this week. It'll be hard, some of us will be exposed to Christmas Cookie baking, Christmas Parties, and lots of Christmas Candy (:o)! For some, it is a difficult and stressful time because of finanicial distress, disfunctional families or perhaps dealing with the loss of someone you loved. These are sometimes the reasons we overeat (like all those cookies) over the holidays. I for one am a stress eater! And, as above, many of those things apply to me! I'm hoping to get through this year in a more positive, less stressful manner.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am hoping for a very happy, healthy holiday for all of you! If something "stressful" happens over the next few weeks, run here and post...........instead of running into the kitchen to eat!!!!!!! I, for one, am very thankful that you guys are here!
Lots of love and hugs!
:snowglo:
PS - I'm sorry if that seemed corny!

jar1965 12-09-2007 09:16 AM

Hi! Me again! This morning while surfing the web I saw this! I know we've all heard these reasons before...........but, it doesn't hurt to hear them again!

Reasons to Lose Weight

You'll feel better

You'll look good in clothes

You'll look good without clothes

Weight loss will give you more energy

You will lower your susceptibility to heart disease, diabetes, blood pressure problems and cancer

You will be able to take part in more activities

You'll be able to run around with your kids

You will only need one airline seat (and people won't mind sitting next to you)

You will look younger

Weight loss will mean you'll wobble less when you run

Things won't hang over your waistband

You'll only have one chin

No one will ask you when the baby is due

Weight loss will mean you can shop in regular clothing stores

You'll have more choice in what you can wear

People will judge you less (especially when you eat in public)

Weight loss will give you the confidence not to care what others think!

Jeanne--I love those reasons to lose weight. I just might print it out and put it in my writing journal and on my refridge.

I keep up where I posted this so I may be repeating myself. I decided to officially weigh in yesterday. I am down 4 back to 221. Very happy about that.

Oh yeah, there is a "Flex Forum" now. I will definitely be checking that out.

jar1965 12-10-2007 06:21 AM

Shay - Good job on those 4#! My WI is Weds. Keeping my fingers crossed. I've been working really hard at this. But in the next breath I"m also on TOM! Urgh! Should be about done Weds. though!
Have a great day everyone!

I am 3 lbs to my Xmas goal of being out of the 190's forever! {189.5 xmas goal} Only 12 hours of walking left to accomplish to have walked 30 hours btwn Thanksgiving and Xmas.

I looked thru my journal last night and realized I only used 2 of my 35 points all week. I had my w/i today so I didn't want to stuff myself just cause the points were to expire. I did use a few of my activity points however. I lost 2.5 inches around my waist this week. Yippy! Okay, a lot was bloat but still, the pants feel much better. :)

Love the reasons as well!

Oh Jar that was such a heart warming post about the time of the year. I can understand about stress eating, because I am one of them. If you see the word stress, you'd definitley see my picture beside it.

Right now, I am I am going through workmen's comp; because, I hurt my back and hip transferring a resident from the wheel chair to the bed, and I hurt myself pretty bad. Therefore, I can't work right now, however, I am still grateful, because I learned so much about myself this year and I came across this site!

Today, it was a pretty good day. Yesterday, I went to church, and my pastor was talking about getting serious about life, and when you finally get serious that is when real change comes. That stuck in my head all of last night and today, because in the past about losing weight, I wasn't all that serious about losing weight; I had alot of head knowlegde about how to eat right and excercise but, I wasn't putting any action to what I was reading about. So, this moring, I said to myself, here is another year that almost ended, and you still didn't lose weight yet, when are you going to get it in your heart that this is serious, and you have to lose weight. now I am going to take things day by day. and not expecting instant gratification. I am so inpatient with myself. Its funny I can be patient with everybody else but when it comes down to myself I don't have any. so in this new year coming around I am going to put " Me " first!

flower - YAAAAAYYY on being so close to your Christmas Goal! I'm sure you'll make it! :carrot:

Synergy - So sorry to hear about your back and hip! Oooch! So nice that you heard what your pastor had to say and it stuck to you! You sound so positive and on the right track! ps- I'm very impatient too! I want immediate results! :dizzy:

flower 12-11-2007 11:12 AM

Synergy, OUCH!

Synergy 12-11-2007 06:02 PM

It is a big ouch, however, I guessed everything in life does happend for a reason. I am just going to keep on looking for the silver lining in the sky!

jar1965 12-12-2007 08:03 AM

Synergy - you'll find that silver lining!

WI was this morning - I only lost 1.1# so I'm still not changing my ticker - only 1# more and I'll be back at my ticker weight! Also, I'm still on TOM and when I got up this morning I can feel that I am retaining water. My little flangeees are so puffy, I can't even move my rings. :dizzy:

Stay OP and have a great day everyone!

flower 12-12-2007 09:57 AM

I didn't want to go walking today but I knew if I didn't do it, I would be anxious all day. That leaves me to snacking. I am glad I got it out of the way but with only 6 hours of sleep, I didn't enjoy it at all. lol

Synergy 12-12-2007 07:39 PM

Thanks Jar I think I will!
TOM came and went :). TOM only stays with me for only 2days, However, I get PMS really bad two weeks before my best friend gets here! I am not going to weigh myself until Sat.morning, because I always retain water afterwards.
Today, was alright. I was just in a blue funk mood today. I just ate some cookies that my husband brought home, and I just went for it. Now, I feel kind of blah, because I know I shouldn't ate those cookies. But, tommorow is another day. Have a good one ladies

jar1965 12-13-2007 06:41 AM

Morning everyone! Urgh, cold, wet, freezing rain, ice, kinda morning here in western Pennsylvania! There is a two hour delay for my daughter. Which is always tough for me this time of year. I drive 30 miles north to take her to school. Then I go 60 miles south to work! It's a ton of drive time but I only do it a couple of days a week! But this time of year we are so busy at work and I really needed to be there by 9:00 and at this case I won't be able to get there till 11:00! I would go exercise with this extra time, but I'm all cleaned up and ready - yeah, I didn't know about the delay until after I was ready!!!! We all could have slept in!
Sorry about the vent!:(

Have a great OP day!

Greetings Girlies

Yes, I am still here ladies. Since I got my new car I can't seem to stay at home. For those that did ask I got a new Expedition and I have put 150 miles on it in the last week. I just love it, it has a sunroof, and I tell you I am wearing that sunroof button out...lol!!!

Now on to the bad news....I finally weighed and I have gained 10 pounds:mad: I have no one to blame but myself. No pity party here, I take full responsibility for my actions. Now I have to work on getting it back off, but the problem is I have parties for the next three nights.

Enough about me, Jeanne and Shay congrats on your losses this week. I am very happy for you both:carrot::carrot:

Flower: I am very proud that you are so close to your Christmas goal. You go girl!!!! I will not make mine, but I guess it is time for me to start thinking of my Valentine's Day goal!

Make a great day ladies:D

jar1965 12-13-2007 01:37 PM

Hi Daph! Sorry to hear about your gain! I know you can get re-focused though!
Your new car sounds very nice! I love my sunroof too! I act like I'm 16 again!
