Wink I'm like a little birdie on your shoulder....

Here's some of a post I put on another thread, but thought I'd pass along here on the Food board.........

Tip of the day: Are any of you soy milk drinkers? I only like chocolate and have been getting the White Wave "Silk", but tonight bought the Sun Soy brand. I read on the WW boards that it's creamier and my gosh it is!!!! MUCH better than the Silk....more like choc regular milk. Anyone who has been thinking about trying soy milk outta give this a try.

---I also bought the new WW "Bistro style" pizzas. I saw they have 4 cheese, BBQ chicken, grilled veggie, and pepperoni. I havent tried them yet. I usually get the Trader Joes Veggie Pizza. It's a 12 inch pizza, 12 points for the WHOLE thing if you wanted to, pretty darn good, and only $2.50. The WW ones are ?? taste (I got the BBQ chicken and the Veggie...will try tomorrow) looks like about 6-8 inches and 8 points....oh! and $3.49. Well, something new to try until I go to TJ's this weekend. I read on a board (Dotti's?--I only lurk there) that they are trying to rip off the popularity of a pizza brand called Heaven's Bistro. WW's who have access to them LOVE them. I've never had. '' I hear it's mostly a West coast thing, but are making their way East.
----Also saw in the newest issue of WW mag that WW has a Skinny Cow knock off, too. Same packaging and everything!! Boy, they must hate it that WW members LOVE products that aren't theirs so they copy it! Heck, if it tastes good and is CHEAPER than the Skinny Cows, I'll buy those. SC's are expensive!!

Happy Eating (and drinking)!!

Angry Sun Soy is the BEST!

You are so right about the Sun Soy Milk! It is the only soy milk I drink. I used to just use skim milk, but my dad works for a milk company and just knowing some of the things about the milk process is disgusting. Anyhoo, I have Sunsoy most mornings with my breakfast. 1 whole cup is only 1pt!!!! And, the chocolate and vanilla flavors are 3pts/cup and are so GOOOOOOD! I didn't care much for the coffee latte, but hey, I am not a big cofee drinker.

To all ye soy milk doubters out there - Try the chocolate milk and you will not even realize it is not real milk! Ditto for the other flavors too! (can you tell I really love this stuff?)

I have to say the WW Pizzas are pretty good. They are not the best I have ever had - but they are good for a quick lunch. They range from 7-9pts I believe. Try them - they are good!

The ww bbq chicken pizza sounds delicious! What stores carry them? I live in Arizona and don't think I have ever seen them?

Hi
A quick note about soy milk and soy products!!!!

Beware that if you take Synthroid ( Thyroid medicine) Soy can interefere with the effectiveness of it! I didnt know that until recently! I read this warning in Prevention magazine. Just be sure to investigate further if you take Synthroid!

Thanks
WWCIN
PS As far as WW pizza's.I had one the other night and even baked on a Pampered Chef stone.it was a pitiful pizza! Of course I ate it anyway! lol

It is true that soy interferes with thyroid function, but it does this for everyone, not just people on synthroid. People with a normal-functioning thyroid can make more thyroid hormone to compensate; people without one cannot. HOWEVER, people without a normal-functioning thyroid can just take more replacement hormone. It is not necessary to elminate soy, just be aware that if you are adding a lot, get your thyroid function tests repeated after several weeks to see if you need a dose adjustment. My dose went from 100 mcg to 137 mcg as I lost weight, probably due to my increased intake of soy, as well as cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower, which also have goitrogenic properties.

Oh, and it didn't stop me from losing >80 lbs and making it to goal.

Default Love the WW Veggie Pizza

I know this probably sounds crazy... but I honestly really like the WW Ultimate Veggie Pizza. It is 8pts, but with a salad is a quite filling dinner!
