not sure about points

  • I have a question, I love the receipes i see on here but dont have a clue how to break them down point wise. can anyone help me with this
  • All of the recipes in our WW forums include the point values. We also have over 1000 recipes on our main site at www.3fatchicks.com/cookbook and they also contain the WW points, which are below the recipe.

    Were there some recipes in other sections of our forum, such as our south beach forums, that you were interested in?
  • You can count the points by using your point finder and using the recipe information of the number of calories, grams of fat and grams of fiber per serving.

    If you don’t have your Pointsfinder with you then you can use a calculator with the following formula:

    Points = [Calories/50] – [grams of fiber*/5] + [grams of fat/12]

    The grams of fiber are capped at 4 grams per serving. (BTW This formula is publically available on the patent site)

    Many of the recipes in the ww forums have points listed or the nutrional info listed but there might be exceptions here and there.

    BTW- some of the recipes on the front page are awesome and have the points conveniently listed.

    A few of my favorites that were a hit with my DH and my dad:

    Tuscan White Bean Soup

    Cheesy Scalloped potatoes (my picky mum even loved this one! )

    Black pepper pasta with mushroom Gorgonzola sauce

  • thanks and question
    Thanks for all the help you guys!!! What confuses me is the serving. i see the points on many of the recipes but alot doesnt tell the serving
  • That does make it harder to figure out. I guess you could make the dish and see how big the quantity is and eyeball what looks like a reasonable size portion and wing it from there.

    or you can count up the points for each ingredient and go from there.

    Anyone else have any suggestions?
