Ragu Express

Had a coupon for new product Ragu Express - bought a box and was surprised - it is really not bad - 190 cal 2g fat 2g fiber comes out to 4 pts - it is a quick 3 1/2 minute snack that tastes pretty good.

I got a box of this a while ago - Tomato and Garlic I think was what I got. I just hate "spending" 4pts for it because it was such a small portion. It makes a nice dinner though if it is served with a salad and green beans. I like the idea that it is designed for a single serving too, as I live alone and this is a lot easier on me.

4 points for 7 bites not! I can get more bank for the buck by making my own.

I work 3 - 11 at a hospital a few nights a week and find this to be a good thing to eat accompanied by a salad or slice of lite bread - I also topped with a little Kraft 2% cheese and melted it - it really was filling - I guess compared to some other foods I really didn't think 4 pts was alot - oh well, just thought I would pass on the info.:?:

Thanks for passing along the info. There are some people that will appreciate knowing you're opinion on this product. It seems to fit your lifestyle quite nicely! Not everyone is a quantity eater and won't mind that the portion size is small. Don't be afraid to share info with us!!

Mookiesmom,
If everyone agreed, no one would e-mail and all this nice support would be gone. For example, I write , someone agrees, and that's that. Well, boring and repetitive come to mind.
So, I am delighted you found a product that does the trick for you
and that you were willing to share it.
I am a volume eater and have to "beef up" WW frozen dinners, etc. but sometimes they are perfect when I am hungry and don't feel like cooking. This sounds like a good product to keep on my shelf. Thanks!
Kelly, thanks for your input too because I always love to hear what you have to say!;)

I didn't mean for it to sound like a put down - I'm sorry. But there were only 7 bites (and I used extra water) for 4 points. I can get 1 whole cup of elbows + 1/3 cup of Ragu sauce + cheese for that amount of points and it's a whole heck of alot more. Even supplemented by a salad it wouldn't hold me over. ;)

Another good thing about this product is that my kids like it. When I feel like having a boca burger or a salad for dinner and declare it "kids' choice" night, this is a reasonably harmless option for the kids. It's not high in fat like a frozen pizza or chicken nuggets, or a too-big serving size like a can of spaghetti-os. I was very happy to see it, because one of my girls has been living on Easy Mac (similar preparation) and it's awfully high fat.

here's another suggestion...

How about a Boca burger (1 pt) the Ragu (4 pts) and a big salad? Or a bowl of green beans and summer squash?

I use a similar sounding product Annies Microwave Mac and Cheese. It's either three or four points. (I'm at work)

I try to eat a lot of vegetables and salad but something like this turns it into a meal.

Also tried it with a little Health Valley Chili, and topped with a slice of 2% cheese - pretty good for a quick meal - I have a young daughter who loves spaghetti o's and macaroni & cheese and find that having something in a single service package curtails her portion amount also - it is very easy for kids to overeat Kraft Macaroni & Spaghetti O's when you have made a full box or a full can - this way you have a little control over portion size.
