Peanut Butter

I thought that most peanut butters were 4 points per tablespoon and I have bought two in the last month ( Jif creamy and Jif honey ) that were both 5 points per tablespoon ( Jif creamy 190 calories, 16 fat, 2 fiber ) - anyone have any lower point peanut butters? I love it on my low carb bagle but hate to use so many points on it ... what do you guys use?

Thanks

I think if you look at your serving size you will see 2 TBSP for a serving thus being 5 points.

1 TBSP should be 1 point.

I am not sure but I think that is what it will say....I don't eat it.

I think the low fat kinds are 4 points per serving.

I found an awesome peanut butter in my grocery store, it's called better n peanut butter and is 2 pts. per serving (2 Tbsp).

I always calculate my peanut butter as 5 points per serving. What I normally do is just use half. One of my favorite pre-workout meals is 1 slice of Orowheat whole wheat bread folded over a TBSP of peanut butter...that is 3 1/2 points of heaven right there.

Jif's reduced fate PB is delish and counts as 2.5 per Tablespoon. I usually eat only 1 TBS at a time as well. I'll either enjoy it on green apple slices (Yummy!) for a sweet treat, or on celery ribs. Sometimes with a little honey on 1 pt toast. Great source of protein if you don't overdo it.

1 tbs of peanutbutter is 2 points as listed in the weight watchers book.

2 points isn't bad then. I love peanut butter on apple slices! :)

Try mixing your reduced fat peanut butter with the same amount of FF cream cheese. I put it in my Magic Bullet blender. It is a way to cut your fat content and still get your peanut butter mix. I make up a big batch using about 1/3 rf peanut butter to 2/3 cream cheese and then keep refrigerated. This next suggestion sounds kind of odd but I got it years ago off a cooking show about school lunches for children. You blend peanut butter with canned Great Northern White beans. The beans really don't have much flavor and it is a way to add some fiber and additional protein to your peanut butter. I've tried both. I prefer my cream cheese invention.

Peanut Wonder Spread

2 Tbsp is 100 cal and 2.5 g of fat. It is a bit expensive, but I like it. It's not as sweet as normal peanut butter, but that's the only difference I can detect.

I know it's high for 2 Tbsp but I have to have Jif. I can't eat any other kind. Sometimes for lunch I will have a PB&J sandwich with 1 Tbsp each of PB and jelly. The jelly is 1 pt for a Tbsp then 2 for the Jif and 2 for 2 slices of the bread I use. It is mulit grain carb counting by either Brownberry or Peppridge Farm. Can't remember which.

I'm with you Tracy! I can eat PB with anything (including the spoon);)
