Have been trying to figure out what the points a whole bag of Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop- micro pop corn is. And seem to be having problems figuring it out. Can someone help? The whole bag popped is 14.5 cups, 2 servings per bag, then there is popped and unpopped. Grrrrr. so do I 2x everything by 2? think I'm making this harder than it really is...
thanks Cheron |

Kelly_S,
Thank you for posting the information about popcorn. According to the Week 1 Winning Points book it states that microwave-popped, reduced-fat (94%fat-free), 5 cups..1 Point. I have been counting the Pop Secret 94%Fat Free (measuring out 5 cups) as 1 point but according to your figures it is 4 points. Do you know if the Week 1 book makes mistakes that big often?? Thanks for your help. Mimosa |
Kelly_S,
I should have read what you posted again before replying. I read it now that you are saying the whole bag is 5 points, approx. 12 cups. So do you think the 5 cups is 1 point?? Thanks again for your time. I will read things twice before asking a question maybe I could figure out!! Hope the Week 1 book is accurate!! Mimosa |
Thank you Kelly_S for the great information! I printed it out so I will have it in the future. Love eating popcorn when I have that sweet tooth, didn't realize it was so many points per bag. But guess it better than giving into that sweet tooth! :)
thank you again! Cheron |
I am SO confused with this popcorn nonsense. In week 1 book they say that any 94% fat free popcorn (5 cups) is 1 point. Other people are posting on here and saying that the whole bag(14 cups) is 4 points. In my calculation it should be about 2 1/2 points for the whole bag according the the WW book. Which is it???

If you total up calories/fat/fiber and then use the points finder you'll find alot of things that happen like this. 1 1-point serving + 1 1-point serving does not always = 2 points but more than likely 3 points. ;)
Hope this explains why this happens. |
My leader told us that the most reliable source for any food is your pointsfinder rather than the booklet, so even though it says one thing, it may be different with the pointsfinder calculations :)
