Things I check to make sure I've got enough to last the week (a little strange, because I can't digest dairy well):
Simply Delicious awesome chocolate frozen dessert (2 pts for 1/2 cup) Picante V-8 12-oz cans Bernsteins roasted garlic vinaigrette (1 pt per 2 tbsp) Silk plain soy creamer (1 pt per 4 tbsp) Chevre spreadable goat cheese (1 pt for 1/4 container, tastes kinda like cream cheese) Chicken or turkey sausage, or 93% lean beef, or pork loin chops Smartpop popcorn Fresca and Stewart's Diet Root Beer Tuna Low-fat Mayo Orowheat light nine-grain bread (1 pt for 2 slices) Hebrew National reduced fat hot dogs Jalapeno or garlic-stuffed olives (instant cheap snack if I come home hungry) The makings for pumpkin pudding (large can Libby's pumpkin and butterscotch pudding) Big bag mixed prepared organic greens [This message has been edited by Lenore (edited 02-13-2001).] |
When I joined WW my leader showed us a grocery list she carries with her all the time. I made one after discovering which items I seem to buy over and over and didn't want to ever forget to pick up (I live 40 miles from town so can't run pick up something if I forget it). This is my list I carry in my planner. (Of course I make another list of items I also need to pick up when grocery shopping).
Pace Picante Sauce (1/2 gal) (free food! use on everything!) WOW Potato Chips (1 oz = 1 pt) WOW Tortilla Chips (1 oz = 2 pt) Land o' Lakes Fat Free Sour Cream Large plain unsweetened yogurt (store brand) Hidden Valley Party Dip mixes Chicken bouillion (low sodium) Beef bouillion (low sodium) Lettuce Carrots (2 5-lb packages, one for me and one for my horses!) Lean Cuisines (buy these on sale) Smart Ones (also buy on sale) Lean boneless pork chops (buy on sale) Lean ground round beef Lean stew meat Boneless chicken breasts (buy on sale) Del Monte Mexican Recipe tomatoes Hunts tomato sauce Chili powder/spices French style green beans Mission 10 inch FF flour tortillas (3 pt) Mission 7 inch FF flour tortillas (2 pt) Onions Green bell peppers Fruit Swiss Miss No Sugar Added Hot Cocoa Mix (get from Sam's Club) (1 pt) Large Quaker Caramel Corn Cakes (1 pt) Canadian Bacon (from Sam's, 1 pt) Roman Meal Light Hamburger Buns (2 pt) Light Sourdough bread (2 slices for 1 pt) English Muffins Kroger Pepper Jack cheese slices (2 pt) Pepsi One Diet Orange Slice Diet A&W Root Beer or Diet Mugs Root Beer (whichever is on sale) |
Does anyone purchase things from Market Day?
These are some of my favorites through Market Day. (10% of the price is tax-deductible) Chicken Steaks-2 pts each Turkey Steaks-2 pts each Ham Steaks-3 pts each French Breadsticks-2 pts each Natural Grill Cod Fillets-2 pts. each Chicken Italian Sausage-2 pts. each link I like these things because they are quick to prepare. Most go from freezer to pan and cook quickly.
