*I use .33 fat grams as if it is less than .5 grams the FDA regulations indicate it can be listed as zero.

#I use .5 fiber grams as if it is less than 1 gram the FDA regulations indicate it can be listed as <1 gram.

As of 2-3-01 the points have been updated for ORVILLE REDDENBACHER, POP SECRET and JOLLY TIME.

I will have to do further research on HEALTHY CHOICE and ACTII.

THANK YOU LISSA!

Land O Lakes Light Butter Flavor; Snack Size Bag
(1 bag yields 6 cups popped @ 120 cal/6g fat/3g fiber)
1-2-3 Success/The 10% Difference: 2 Points
Winning Points: 2 Points

As for the fiber, it states that it contains less than 1g per 1 cup popped. I counted it as .5g per cup which gives 3g fiber per bag.

This actually calculates out to 2.3 points per bag using Dotti's calculator set to "Exact Points" mode. If you set it to "Half Points" mode, it comes out to 2.5 points. Using the "Whole Points" mode gives the 2 points.

I want to add something. PopSecret has come out with 100 Calorie Pack Popcorn (and their labeling is very easy to read) so the whole package of it is 2 points and it is a 'cute' snack size and tastes better than Orville's in my opinion.

BryceMom 05-03-2005 03:27 PM

Black Jewell (Microwave)
Serving Size 3 tbsp. unpopped
Calories 150
Fiber 4 grams
Fat 7 grams

This makes about 4 cups popped

1 cup popped = 40 calories
% Daily Value
3% Fat
4% Fiber

Hope this helps! Thank you!

mini bags..94% FF butter

Ugh! Why does popcorn have to be so diffcult to calculate!
I bought ACT II mini bags 94% FF butter 1.2 oz bags.

**Serving Size 2 Tbsp (35g) unpopped (makes about 6 cups popped)
** Servings per Bag: 1
** Servings per Package: 12

**************** Unpopped:******1 cup popped:
Calories:_____________110______________15
Total Fat (2g):________3%______________0%
Dietary Fiber (4g):_____16%_____________ 0%

I feel totally stupied when I look at the nutrition facts about popcorn... I hope someone can help me...its driving me nuts!!! I would like to know how many points for 1 mini bag.

Thanks!!!
Amy

Kelly_S 06-06-2005 10:15 PM

Basically if it 94% fat-free mini bags are 2 points and full bags are 4 points

Fit4Life 10-09-2005 04:57 PM

I just bought the OR 94% snack size and it's 100 cal; 2 fat; 4 fiber. That comes to 1 point on my WW calculator. Why are you saying they are 2?

Kelly_S 10-09-2005 07:14 PM

Because after the popping they come out to much less fiber.

tracyj1978 10-11-2005 07:28 PM

so the OR 94% minis are 2 points? Oh no!! i have always counted them as one.

kimkimmie 10-14-2005 10:37 PM

I thought that WW magazine had ads for the Jolly Time healthy Pop that had a little cartoon lady on it, and the ad said only 2 points for the whole bag? I usually eat the whole bag and count it as 2 and spray it with butter flavor Pam cooking spray. Maybe 5-7 seconds worth with a few shakes in between. I sometimes re-spray the bottom part if it needs it for another 4-5 seconds. I count this as 3 points. I know that amount of spray has to be counted, so that is why I count the bag as 3.

I have this probably 4 evenings out of the week, and I'm still losing. Any advice if this is OK, or if I should count it as more?

Thanks,

Kim

I guess I am confused too because my WW leader said that any bag of 94%ff popcorn was figured to only 2 points because of all of the unpopped kernels that had to be counted out of the totals. All of us at our WW meetings only count that as 2 for a large bag.

krazysexxykooldiva 01-07-2007 07:39 PM

I wish ACT II would make low fat Kettle Korn in the mini bags, I love ACT II Kettle Corn but I know it is high, high in points, SIGH. I don't like Orville's 94% FF version.

Thanks, I'm going to have to look for that one. I love the 100 Calorie line, so easy.

SlimmingWorldChick 09-05-2007 09:34 AM

What about Pret a Manger Honey popcorn? It says on the website that the salt one is 2.5 per bag but this one isn't stated.

SlimmingWorldChick 09-07-2007 08:37 AM

Pret A Manger Honey popcorn is 3 points per 35g bag

shaykha 09-07-2007 03:23 PM

I've been counting the 100 calorie mini bags as 1 pt because thats what the WW online thing said.

ppturner 04-23-2008 09:57 PM

What about popcorn that is air popped with just a teaspoon of oil. I had 3 or 4 cups of it and I don't know how to count it. I used a 1/3 cup of popcorn, 1 tsp. of canola oil and it made about 8 cups. Any advice?

Thanks!

violettfem 05-06-2008 12:16 AM

I was told all 94% was 2 points.

Where did you get this info?

violettfem 05-06-2008 08:48 PM

WW eTools says OR 94% is 2 points for 7 3/4 cups. Isn't that a bag?

violettfem 05-06-2008 08:56 PM

[QUOTE=modkittn;1845649]Hey guys - I just saw a video on CNN about a chemical used for flavoring in microwave popcorn that is toxic in large amounts. Nothing firm about in small amounts (like when you are popping it in your microwave). Now, I'm assuming that they don't use this in "all natural" microwave popcorn, but I really don't know. Anyway, you might want to take a look. I know they said one company has already gotten rid of using it, but others haven't.

That chemical diacetyl is not in Orville Redenbacher Organic Butter 94% Fat Free.

Thank goodness!

amyx33 07-21-2008 08:26 PM

hey i dont know if anyone has asked this.

I just bout the individual bags of orville redenbachers 94% fat free (1.2 oz) Kettle Korn. How many points is the whole bag? 2? (since it is individual bags)

cher37 09-22-2008 09:56 PM

ppturner: I asked my leader this question, her answer was,

air popped popcorn is 1 pt (for about 5 cups popped)

if you use 1tsp oil, add 1 pt

= 2 pts total

Movie Theater Butter Topping

I am just starting to try Weight Watchers again. It worked very well for me once, I lost nearly 40 pounds, but I went off the diet and reverted to my poor eating habits. Unfortunately, I gained all the weight back and then some. I was looking through this forum and noticed that there is some great info on point values and as I am going to the movies tonight, I was very happy to see that AMC small popcorn is only 5 pts. After a little searching around on the web, I found the points value for the butter topping and thought I would share. 1tbsp is 130cal and 14g fat, 4 pts. Most theaters have the customer operated dispensers so taking in a measuring spoon and pointing out some topping shouldn't be a big problem if you think the points are worth it. :corn:

Jane 06-11-2009 11:43 PM

Yep, you'd think popcorn would be easier to calculate, lol.

Popcorn points have changed over the years, due to manufacturers using healthier oils, smaller bag size, etc, so we should check the bags for nutritional content instead of looking here for reliable info.

rowan108 06-26-2009 05:21 PM

I just went on the weight watchers tracker and looked up popcorn 94% FF for 5 cups is 1 point. At least according to the tracker. I also used my slide to figure out the OR 100calorie packs 100/2/4 equals to 1 point too.
