Hello everyone. For those of you who shop at Costco and ADORE those giant muffins w/ the giant overhang... Here are some nutritional facts and their points.

Blueberry: 610 cal; 32 g fat; 2 g fiber: 14 points
Maple 920 cal; 41 g fat; 5 g fiber: 21 points
Chocolate: 690 cal; 38 g fat; 3 g fiber: 16 points
Orange Cran: Same as chocolate
Almond Poppy: 670 cal; 38 g fat; 2 g fiber: 16 points.

Scary, heh?

I was shoping over there last week & yes, was tempted to put that huge muffin selection into the cart. UNTIL I looked at the nutritional label. I practically threw them back on the shelf - lol. I'm sure I had a strange look or two aimed in my direction;)

Thanks for the info.... Nona:)

Sam's has bakery muffins that are similar to the ones at Costco. They also have a pre-made brand called Uncle Wally's which come in both regular and fat-free varieties. The ones I see the most are the apple-cinnamon/blueberry combination.

Well, I checked the nutrition on them and calculated a serving to be 2 points, which I thought was great! Then my DH pointed out to me that a serving was 1/2 a muffin. Now I ask, who would really eat 1/2 a muffin??

Not as good of a point deal at 4 points! What a bummer!

>GASP< Good thing I pretty much gave up on muffins when I started WW. I was never too fond of them anyways, so I don't mind.

This reminds me of finding out how much fat was in a Chili's Awesome Blossom. I don't remember anymore exactly how many grams and points it was, but it was enough to make it "not a food" for me. That's what I do with stuff that's just not worth it. I never even go down the chips-and-cookies aisle of the supermarket, because what's there is no longer "food" for me. Oh, I'll taste a chip from a friend's bag once in a while, but it's just not worth eating that stuff regularly!

look at all those points...

...for muffins??

That's the great thing about the WW point system, I have found. It really makes you stop and think what you're putting into yourself. 21 points for 1 muffin!!! That's insane.

Makes me happy I'm not that addicted to baked goods! ;)
