another points question
I am trying to find out how many points in a standard cake mix. Dry mix is 170 calories and prepared is 250. How do I figure the point on the dry mix if I use only egg whites instead of whole eggs and unsweetened applesauce instead of oiL? What has me confussed is the fat grams. Is that for the prepared mix or the dry?

You will have 2 whole different figures for the dry and then prepared. You should have 2 columns. Under the one for mix only use all those figures, add the cal/fat/fiber for your egg whites and then add the cal/fat/fiber for your applesauce (btw you don't need to use it and the cake turns out just fine...even better in my opinion than using the oil or applesauce).
Basically most cake mixes are between 3 and 4 points per serving with 12 servings per box though. |
another points question
Thanks Kelly. I figured it to be about 4 points but my cake mix only listed the calories for dry and prepared. The fat content, carbs and other things were only in one column, not seperated.

They will not be separate however there should either be 2 columns or one that says MIX or DRY and one that says PREPARED. What is the cake mix and I will look when I go to the store tonight.
