Subway sandwich points?

Hi, all,

I did the old WW program many years ago and have just rejoined the new program. Day 5 and so far, so good! quick question: My point tracker has the values for a Subway turkey sub on it. Does that value include cheese? Mayonnaise? I'm guessing it DOES include cheese and does NOT include mayo. I know it's for 6 inch, wheat bread, etc... just seems like an awful lot of points for a piece of bread and some turkey and veggies.

No cheese no mayo.

that's sad. I wish I liked mustard more.

You can probably make the sandwich at home for less points and then factor in a light spread of mayo. I know it's not as convenient but there are ways to negotiate!

Have you checked out the Subway website? Its cool because you can get nutritional information on your specific sub with just the toppings you want. Then, you do have to punch those numbers into the PointsPlus calculator.

What I'm wondering is if the nutritional info on the subway site (and WW site) is up to date. With all that controversy recently over the sub that was less than a foot long, it came out that they reduced the meat on their subs by 25% (or so) - very recently, I think. I'm wondering if the nutritional info
reflects that.

I too was disappointed in how many points a sub was. The bread they use has to be the culprit (even the flat bread).

The ExerciseForWeightLoss website has tons of information for tons of eating places!!! You can easily build it on there and see what it comes to.

Have you ever tried the sweet onion 'dressing' ... Its FF and amazingly good!!! :D

thanks everyone! Using the website is a great idea!

Yeah, it must be the bread. And I think the flatbread might be worse than the sub bread?! I hate how all the delicious flatbreads (especially naan!) are SO high in points. I guess they must be very dense.

Flat breads are usually fried and to make subway less amount of calories on the biggest loser they pull out most of the bread and then fill it.I have given up buying subway and make my own as the reason I liked it so much was all the salad is cut up for You Am I lazy or what ?

The bread is what adds so much. Go to the subway website and make a sandwich however you want it and look at the calories. Then turn that same sandwich into a salad and see how much lower cal it is.

I saw on the biggest loser that they asked the food preparer to scoop out the inside part of the bread before making the sandwich. No sure how many points that would reduce it.
