Rules of thumb!
I really believe (and know) that the WW points system works. I've walked so many friends through the program and once you get on track and stay on track you WILL lose the weight. I am an old hat at this. I put on 70 pounds twice during pregnancy and always lost the weight on POINTS. It's a science to me now. I've listed below MY guidelines for myself. They've really worked for me - maybe they could work for you too!
These are my rules:
-8 glasses of water a day - for sure!
-No boxed foods...all Lean Cuisines, burgers, pizzas...ANYTHING IN A BOX...none.
-Buy only fresh meats, fish and vegetables
-Stick to WW bread products
-Eat white rice vs. whole wheat (1/2 cup cooked white rice is 2 pts)
-Minimal fruit - no more that 2 pieces per day
-Cut back on alcohol. If you want a drink stick to vodka and soda.
-No carbonated drinks - eg. Perrier or diet coke etc.
-Eat protein...chicken and eggs
-No processed meats!!!!!
