What exactly are setpoints?
?? I've no clue about them but from what I gather, I need them:?:
|
set points are the amount of daily points you must use in 1 day, based on you age, weight, height, and activity level. To be successful with weight watchers you must figure this out
|
Kristyn - you're thinking of our Daily Points Target, but thank you for trying to help.
First off, a big :welcome: to you both to 3FC and especially to the Weight Watcher forum here. sml4thecamera - no, you don't really need Set Points, in my opinion. They were introduced when WW switch to the Momentum plan, and can be helpful when eating out. In a nutshell, they allow a set number of points for foods that you don't know the exact points value. For example, when you eat at a restaurant, a family reunion, etc., WW says you can ballpark the points eaten by giving proteins, grains and starchy veggies, and fruits a set points number. (exact numbers available through WW paid info) This is WW's way of trying to keep us OP even when eating out, or during any occasion when we are unsure of the exact points of the food available. It can be handy, but isn't vital to your overall success. |
Thanks! I tend to eat out a good bit sometimes and any help with that is appreciated.
I'm working on getting the starter kit for Weight Watchers now and until then, trying to learn what I can. |
I'm on week 20 of WW and have had Set points explained to me twice and I still don't understand it. So no mater how much you eat of a specific food you only put down a set point value even though you could be eating much more than the set point value? It just doesn't make sense seems like you could easily go way over the portion Size and point value on this.
