BK Veggie Burger
 

I saw these advertised on a sign outside a Burger King here in Michigan today. Has anyone tried them or know anything about the point value?

I hope it's good! At least it's a step in the healthy direction while so many restaurants are getting rid of their unprofitable light menus...

Hi Sarah......Funny you should mention this. I just read about the new release of the BurgerKing's vegetarian burger this morning. And I can't wait to try it. The burger part is already a favourite of mine, it is made by Morningstar Farms.....its their veggie burger. You can buy these already at your grocery store in the frozen food section. The one part to "request it your way...." is to omit the mayonaise...(its a killer in fat and pts) The burger itself is about 375 cals....with the mayonaise and a whopping 17 gr fat. I personally love these 'burgers' and regularly buy them several pkgs when I do the groceries. Hope this "review" is helpful. tc

They already have veggie burgers at BK in the UK, I miss them desperately! They were extremely yummy. :) I don't know if they're the same things (ingredients-wise) but I can't wait to find out! Any idea when they'll make it to California?

Hello everyone. I first saw these in Canada a few months ago and wrote the company to get the nutritional info because the restaurant didn't have any. According to the (very detailed) guide they sent me, a mayo-less Veggie burger is only 5 pts... with mayo it worked out to only 7 pts. Sounds good, doesn't it... tastes really good, too - almost just like the real thing! However, something to keep in mind is that these aren't the most nutritious burgers out there... they're mostly 'fillers' - things like ash, etc... so you get the taste, but very little else. Other fast food places like Harveys use Veggie burgers that contain more soy products so they're better for you. A Harveys Veggie burger is only 7pts (without mayo).

OK, so they're Morningstar Farms burgers. I love all their products, but this makes it somewhat less exciting to me since they are cheaper in the store and very easy to make (I usually throw a frozen patty on my Foreman Grill with some veggies like zucchini and onion). They are probably pretty tasty if BK flame-broils them like their regular burgers, too.

Still, it's nice to know that if I'm out and want to get something, BK has a great alternative to the same old Subway sandwich or grilled chicken. I'm so glad to see a restaurant adding something healty (sans mayo).

I loven the BK veggie burgers! The flame broiling really gives them a terrific taste.

I had one today and I was not impressed. Not much flavor. Plus they did not leave it on the grill long enough. I had it no mayo and put my own catsup on it. I would rather have the Jr. Wopper no mayo for 7 points then the veggie burger. I give it thumbs down. :(

I had one the other day and LOVED it. What a great alternative. I had catsup, mustard and onion on mine and it was great. Five points for a fast food!. I will definately put this on my list.

I thought that these were okay. I got mine without mayo and had mustard on it. I think though I would have to agree and say that I would rather have a Whopper Jr without mayo than this.

I like these too. I ordered mine made special without the mayo and so it was fresh off the grill which made it even better. I sometimes have trouble sticking to the grilled chicken and this gives me another choice. I will order this again. I wish more restaurants served them.

We have these where I live and I have thought about ordering them , but I have not done it yet
I have tried the morning star brand I believe and it must be a mind thing. It nearly made me gag. I am sorry but it looked and reminded me of dog food. I tried to zap it up a little with condiments and vegies but it did not work.
So I am not that impressed with what I have heard and I think I would rather have the whopper Jr without the mayo too.
