Spaghetti points

Ok. We had spaghetti last night and had so much sauce left over we reheated the sauce and made more noodles for it. My question is this: The box of spaghetti, 1lb box, says 1/7 of a box is the serving and figures up to 4 points per serving. Do you have any ideal how many cups of spaghetti you get from a standard 1lb box of spaghetti? I ate a cup and figured at 4, but think there may have been more than 7 cups in the end result. What do you think.

Cooked spaghetti is 4 points per cup. You figured it correctly.

Thanks QuilterinVa, I just wanted to be sure. I appreciate your response.

Actually 2 oz dry cooks up to 1 to 1 1/2 cups of pasta. It depends on shape and how long you cook it.

and not all pastas are 4 points per cup because of this.

I usually weigh my pasta dry and then whatever it cooks up to I know I'm eating the proper amount. It's no big deal to cook it separately.

I weigh the spaghetti after it is cooked then divide by the number of servings in the box to figure out what I can have to eat.

This is an excellent idea, when I weigh out 2oz of dry pasta, it always seems like a lot to me! Now I will know for sure! :cb:

Thank you!
