I have a co worker who lost a good bit of weight on WW, and I am thinking of doing it. But do i have to actually join anything? I cant afford fees right now, I thought I could find out how many points I could have and go from there.

There would be a weekly fee, but WW is usually very reasonable. You might call your local office and ask how much the fee is.

A lot of people, myself included, have found the weekly meetings crucial to the success of WW. It's not just about the points. Maybe you could join for a month, then try it on your own?

Have you thought about counting calories? That won't cost a cent and is very flexible. Of course you won't have the meetings but you will get a lot of support here at 3FC

I think WW is a great way of putting the Canada/US food guides into play. Whether you do WW or count calories the big thing is to think about how much of each food type you should be eating. Check the food guides. They are quite good - I think they have too many carbs, but that's just me.

My thinking is:

Lots of veggies, dairy & protien.

A bit less fruit & breads.

Lots less fat - but you still need some.;)

I have found that I pay less each week for WW than I did junk food in the past. Yes, I still have to buy food but I'm not grabbing a candy or chip each time I go to the store. I also bring my lunch to work which is cheaper than buying it. So in the long run I'm saving money by going to WW. By the way they useally have a special where if yo pay for 4 weeks, you don't pay a regestration. Check it out.

Good Luck!

I use WW online and it's very reasonable, so long at you don't need the meetings. I pay just about $17 a month, so it's very doable.

Thanks, she was telling me it was $10 a week. I'll check out online, $17 is reasonable.
