Hi gang, Just a quick one - it is a busy day. Getting stuff ready for the craft show Sunday. Possibility of rain. I think that tea time sounds really yummy. How do you girls manage to lose when you have all those treats? I subbed in a Canasta group last nite and didn't pig out too much. There were a lot of good treats there and I didn't even taste some of them. I just read Danielle Steele's latest Lone Eagle or something like that. I get to mad at myself because I always say I will never read another one of her books because they are so much alike. Then I go to the library and there it is and I get it. Oh well. Have a good day all,

Good grief, Charlie Brown! I kind of think I give up on the colors. Can't even do that! I used to have a brain. I have on the Enhanced Mode, pick out the color and then what? There is always an X on the "Close Current Tag" thingie. How do you know the color "starts?"

Well, sounds like everyone is doing fine. Congratulations, Anne, on the 1.6 pounds! That is a great loss! Maybe you should give yourself the gift of a massage after every 5 pounds. Aren't they just heaven?

My best friend finally bit the bullet yesterday and went back to WW. We walked last night and she said that just about everybody she knows is on WW. We have just become such a fat society what with "all you can eat" buffets that we have to take control of our lives sometime. But the impatience factor (I certainly have experienced it) comes into play. Think I might have a fix on that right now. I will take ANY loss and be happy about it because it is a LOSS.

Trudy, is your GERD having any effect on your maintaining your weight? My little collicky grandson has to take Mylanta and he loves it (but what does he know?)I am sure that eventually, like all our newfound "conditions", you will get used to what you can have and cannot have.

We had a $122 water bill. Our yard is lovely, but so will everyone else's once it rains. Oh well, this is my husband's hobby.

Default Blesssed Rain!!!

Two nights with rain. But of course we had to have the thunder and lightning to go along with it. . We can't have a big water bill since we are not allowed to use sprinklers but once a week

Hi everyone. Just had to report our good fortune.

Now I want to share a joke, and then off to bed.

An older couple were in bed, and the wife was feeling amourous, but her husband really wanted to sleep. She touched his arm and said "Honey, you used to hold my hand." So he gave a sigh, and reached over and took her hand. Then he tried to go back to sleep. Then she said, "Honey you used to give me a kiss." So he gave another great sigh, leaned over and gave her a peck on the cheek, and then tried to go back to sleep. Then not to be stopped, she said, "Honey, you used to bite my neck. With that he leaped out of bed and his wife said, "Honey, where are you going?" His answer was, "to get my teeth." :lol

So with that I will say goodnight. Ann

Hi, Ann that was a cute joke. I am happy that you got some rain if it was needed. Right now we are being bombarded with acorns. I feel like I am under attack when they fall on the roof. It seems like there are a lot more of them this year and they are big ones. They are keeping the squirrels busy. believe that I can do . My sister sent me a thing the other day to see if your mind was normal. It was this little test. I was in the 2% that wasn't normal. By the way my sister just started a web site. She crafts with gourds. If you would like to see it go here. http://imacraft.tripod.com/gourdgeou...ons/index.html She does some beautiful things with them. I haven't gotten our water bill but it is normally more than that. I don't know what we do to use so much water. I wonder how Maria is doing. Hope that all went well. Trudy how are those Mylanta cocktails doing? Are they helping? Time to take the dog out. Have a good one,

Default Another rainy night Yippee!

More rain, and yes we need it badly. We have been in a state of drought for the whole year. It was hoped that our rainy season would make up for it, but this summer we haven't had a rainy season. I could do without all the thunder and lightning. Had to unplug the computer!

Lily: Have a great vacation.

Peggy: Gourds make for interesting crafting. Glad you liked the joke. Our son sent it to us.

Hi to everyone.

Will check in tomorrow. Ann

Default ...Have a great holiday Lily

Hi Lily, I don't know if you said where you guys were going on your holidays or if I missed it, but have a great trip and enjoy yourself. I'll miss you.

Peggy I checked out your sister's web page, and her work is just lovely. What a talented family you must be. On Tuesday's when we have Tea Time, what we all do is have a later breakfast, then use our "lunch points" for tea time. We try to taste everything but not too much of anything.

I picked up the crystal pieces on Wednesday, and the Jeweller did a nice job. He wrapped a gold wire around each piece with a little loop to hang it from a gold chain. I would have liked the wire to be thicker but he was afraid of damaging the delicate crystal. He also did a very nice job in making the bands on Mother's engagement ring thicker and the "Love" ring my Son gave me on my 40th birthday. I'm pleased. I sure like rings.

TA DA we booked our flights for Maui last night. We are leaving on February 6th and returning on March 4th. We discovered the fares were cheapest if you flew on Mon, Tues, or Wed. It's a good thing we booked yesterday, because today I saw the "Prosthodontist". Never ever heard of that. I thought the Peridontist I saw did everything, well no, not so. The Prosthodontist decides how many implants "he" thinks you should have and where they should be placed and how your plate should be attached in your mouth. Well he thought I should have "three" implants. The Periodonist, that will do the actual surgery charges $1200.00 to $1500.00 for each implant. The Prosthodontist charges about $2500.00 for the part he does. It looks like I will end up with a bill of around $6000.00. I was talking to Trudy and she said that if I said it in a "normal tone of voice", it wouldn't sound soooo bad. LOL

Well I guess I will just have to say, I got new teeth for Christmas. Isn't there a song like that???
Maria just want you to know I am thinking about you. You will have a lot of posts to read when you get home. Hope you are coming along just fine.......I'm sure you are.

Night all. Talk to you tomorrow.

Default My Crazy Life........

I miss being able to post more often. Hopfully when I get my act together I will beable to spend more time here. It's been a busy week. Have had to do inventory at all of the locations that I work. It is now done and in the mail and I hope the next week will be not so crazy

I did print all the posts yesterday and took them along. Made for some very entertaining reading at lunch. You are all so colorful.

Glenda Keep trying you will figure out how the colors work . Have faith I'm not even sure I do it right?
I think last weeekend was a bad weekend WW wise for a lot of people including my self. I found my self eating things that I never eat. Glad that is over.

Trudy Well we were basking in sunshine untill today. Today I thought I should have had a motorboat tied to my bumper. The rain was so hard . I had to go out to Camp Ripley and have a new I.D.card made and on the way home I had to pull over and let the rain let up so I could see.

Ann It looks as if you got this computer stuff down pat. Good for you. It surprise's me as to how many people are scard of them Loved the joke and Have already shared it with three people.

Slavika Making new habits was the topic of the week.. did your leader use the line "I'll bet no one in this room ever woke up one morning and said today I'm going to blow my points plan." ?? I did. And one of the gals in the group said Yep! that was me on Sunday. The point I was going to make was that we all start out the day with good intentions and then something happens that derails us. I thanked her for blowing my line. We all had a good laugh over that. Your jewely sound just beautiful. Glad your DH liked his present.

Peggy I haven't had a chance to check out your sister's Web site. But plan to go ther next. I know what you mean by Daniell Steel's books. Right now I am into Nora Roberts. My all time favorite is LaVyrle Spencer. She retired not too far from here. I used to see here at the Nursing Home when I was working there. Her mother is one of the residents.

Was thinking of

Maria and her feet . Hope she not in too much pain and is able to post soon to at least tell us she is OK.

Well this turned out to be long.
I'd better go to bed we are off to St. Paul in the morning one more Family Reunion last one of the year.

Karen

Default ....Hi Everybody

I haven't done too much in the way of cleaning, the last few weeks so yesterday I stayed home and did a little bit of work. It's funny because the things I did I guess nobody but me would know I did it. Oh well I guess that's better then my friends coming over and saying, "it's about time you cleaned that."
DH and I have errands to run today, Costco, The Mall, and we want to pick up tickets for a show thats going to be on at one of our Casino's. DH is looking for a new suit and maybe dress slacks and a jacket.
We are going to have my brother and his wife over for dinner tomorrow. It's his 60th birthday on Monday. Karen you are one busy lady, but as long as you enjoy what you are doing, and it seems like you do, I think that's great. Maria I hope that you are coming along just fine and will be on your computer soon paying us a visit.

Thumbs up I've seen better days!

Hi everyone: A most frustrating afternoon. Have had a problem with my internet server, and have spent an hour trying to solve the problem. Still is not right. On top of that, I have developed a miserable cold with sneezing and coughing, the whole nine yards, and I had a bad weigh-in on Sat.-- up. Not all that I lost last week, but frustrating just the same. Then I had written a whole post, and got cut of the net. But I'm not going to eat.

Karen: You area busy one. We also talked about breaking bad habits. We all can talk about what to do, but it's the doing it that counts. We just need a little voice that keeps saying

Slavika: This must be the week-end for cleaning. We are great ones for saving magazines. Just hate to throw them away. But we got ruthless, and now I can see the top of my coffee table, and the recycling bin has lots of new stuff. And we did have friends for dinner last night, so I had to be spiffed up a little for them.

Trudy: How are you doing with the GERD?

Maria: we are all thinking about you and missing your posts. At least hope you can read and keep up with all the chat. Hope you are doing well and not in too much pain.

Hi to everyone else. Hoe you have had a good weekend. We are having rain again. So good. there is actually some water standing on the ground in some places. That hasn't happened in over a year. Will talk to you all again soon, when I'm in a better mood Ann

Default ....Hi everybody

Ann I've had a few days like the one you described. When I first was hooked up to my server of course I was also very very new to computers (I mean I knew nothing at all), so when I had trouble, I never knew if I had done something wrong or if something "WAS" wrong. It turned out a lot of my problems were the fault of the server and the company had to run new cables into my house. Things have been fairly good since then. (touch wood) Sorry you have to deal with a cold, boy they sure can make you feel miserable.

[COLOR=blue] It's my brother's 60th birthday tomorrow so I had him and his wife over for dinner tonight. I made him a "Pineapple Upside Cake" and it turned out very nice and looked good without having to fuss with icing and stuff. We BBQ pork chops, but yesterday I made a big pot of "Borsch". and started the meal off with that and some of those lovely 9 grain Ciabatta buns from Costco. They said, "the soup, buns and cake would have been enough, that we didn't need the pork chops and the rest of the stuff. I always tend to make too much.

Maria Hi there, I am thinking you will likely be coming home in the next day or two. I hope you are not in too much pain. Looking forward to "talking" to you.

Lily you just left and already I miss your posts. It's much too quiet around here with both you and Maria gone.

Talk to you all tomorrow. Night.
