Friday feels like a Monday!

In kirsty-style, oh boo! My friday is just rotten! :) Not really rotten, just super busy. I have a closing this afternoon in another town at 4 o'clock. So, I have to get my work done early.
Jen: I loved your list! I printed it off to share with my friends. :)
Ok, must get to work. My doc gave me a presrip of Cipro for my tummy. He says it's a bacterial infection from Cozumel. :(
I haven't had tummy problems since last night, though. That's good! My sis is coming back from a convention in Cincinatti tonight so it will be a late night. I haven't seen her since the day after the wedding.
I'm rambling. Must get to tons of work that is waiting for me. I wish it would get tired of waiting and go to someone else! :D
Have a great weekend!
Brenda: Come out and sneak post!

Jen-L 07-20-2001 11:34 AM

Stacy, I had a b-infection in my tummy a couple years ago. It was worse than the flu for me! Hope you feel better soon! Are you on a bland diet too?? I had to be and it sucked! No yeast, so spice, no sugar, no dairy. Oh I was miserable!

Anyhooooooo!!! I have to work this weekend and I am none too happy. I hate working the weekends, plus being on beeper call for the weekend and week after. YUCK!

Tonya: Happy Birthday!!!

Welcome to 30. I have to tell you, I did not want to turn 30 but now that I am, I really love it. It is a good age. Well, anyway, glad I am not the only one anymore.

Hello to everyone else.

Trish

Janet R 07-20-2001 12:10 PM

Trish,

You're not the only one. I am 30 too... well, I'll be 30 until November, then I'll be 31. ;)

Tonya: Happy birthday!!! Enjoy. Kudos to the hubby, he's racking up the good boy points.

Jen-L 07-20-2001 12:12 PM

Yah, and I am 29 on the verge of 30. Hubby says he is having a 30 party for me.... sniff sniff!

But at least Emma turns 1 first! I found a website for cute cake ideas. I am so excited for her birthday. OHHHHH... this morning we put her new shoes on and hubby stood her up to the coffee table. She held on and stood on her own!!! It was adorable!!

Hi girls,

Well, I'm a nervous wreck about this pap smear thing. I found out it was abnormal again and I have to have some procedure on Aug. 6 that zaps off cells on the cervix. The doctor told me that usually that takes care of the problem, but any time the word "pre-cancerous" comes up, it's scary, you know? All I can think is that something's been wrong for the past 4 years, ever since I had the first abnormal pap, and that moving to a different city and having to find a different doctor complicated the diagnosis or something. That doctor had to send me to a specialist, and now, finally, they're doing something.

I'm a worrier, and this has me in full worry. I tend to be a hypochondriac too and always imagine the worst!

I have to keep telling myself not to EAT. Although I want to.

Well, I'm going to write my story for tomorrow so I can get out of here. Hi to everyone ... Happy early birthday Tonya!

Jen-L 07-20-2001 12:24 PM

KIM..... DON'T WORRY!!!!! I went through the same proceedure about 2 years ago. We had to put off getting PG because of it, but all is OK now! E-mail or private message me if you want anymore info. I was scared beyond belief because of it... mostly because cancer runs in my family big time, my mom has had it twice, but everything was OK for me and the doctors all told me that it is more common to go through this proceedure than you think! CHIN UP GIRL!!!

StaceyT 07-20-2001 01:51 PM

Kim, I'm thinking about you!

Kim, I had that procedure done, too. I was so scared and then after I had it done I couldn't have hochmagahndy for 4 weeks, but that was the worst part. :) I didn't want to go back for another pap, finally went back after 1 1/2 yrs and have had normal paps since then. My doc explained that precancerous is every cell they can't define. Meaning, just because it's "abnormal" doesn't mean it's dangerous...they just can't recognize it. Deep breath. Breath slow and know we are all thinking about you and we know everything will be fine.
Oh yeah, when the docs office first called when I had that done, they told me OVER THE PHONE that the cells needed to be tested to make sure I didn't have cancer. What phone skills!!! NOT!
Ok, getting back to work now. I have about 2 hours left so
"see" ya'll later!

Trish O 07-20-2001 01:57 PM

Kim:

I agree, Don't Worry. I had this done about 5 years ago. NO problems at all since then. It really is no big deal...and Jen is right, They told me that it is very common. Also, I think it is great that they have ways to treat things before they become a problem. Then you don't have to worry about it any more. Please feel free to e-mail me or PM me if you want all the details. Big hugs to you.

Janet: I forgot that you were the big 30 as well. Boy, our birthdays are close...and I am going to be 31 when i have this kid. AHHH.

Ok, must get off-line and start working. I spent my lunchhour on-line shoppng for clothes. I am going to have so much cute new stuff. I hope it all fits.

Trish

Trish O 07-20-2001 02:01 PM

Stacey: I also was not to have any hochmagahndy after my procedure. That would not have been a problem except that I had the procedure done 2 weeks before my wedding...you guessed it, none of the married games for our honeymoon. And hubby still married me. Oh well, I was moving and wanted my current dr to do the procedure. I was told to come in every 3 months for a pap for six months and then go to a year...so I had to drive 6 hours back to my old dr for follow-up. As I said , I have not had any problems since.

Anyway, really you are right, that is the worst part.

Trish

Jen-L 07-20-2001 03:03 PM

Trish... Poor You!! My first abnormal pap was shortly before my wedding and I freaked out. I had to have a specialist do the proceedure and he was aweful, no personal skills and made me feel rotten. I refused to go back for my 3 month, I went to my normal doc instead. She would have done it, but they had loaned the equipment to another clinic and were waiting to get new equipment. I was bummed! Oh and I could have the Hoch for about 3 weeks or so. Being PG is worse... 4-6 weeks with no Hoch! I opted closer to the 4!!

Trish O 07-20-2001 03:24 PM

Jen: 4-6 weeks does not sound all that bad to me right now. We were advised not to have any hoch in about May...so it has been, well, months. The other day hubby joked that he thinks "it" fell off in the shower. Sorry if TMO. Oh well, you do what you are told to do.

kimobi 07-20-2001 03:24 PM

Thanks everyone! Didn't I go through this last time when I just had to have the coloposy, or whatever the heck it's called? It's been lovely trying to talk to my doctor's nurse from the newsroom, but I've had no choice. Yesterday, when she told me I needed to have that LEEP procedure, I blurted out the name in surprise. I hope no one heard me. Oh, well.

But I feel better knowing others have dealt with it and it turned out OK. I really, really could use a weekend with my b/f but we have only one day. He works Sunday, as usual. I honestly don't know how much more of this I can take.

I need to finish this story that I've been procrastinating writing, so I better get going. Have a good weekend, everyone, if I'm not back later! :)

BAD JEN MADE ME CYBER SICKLY!!

Somehow, I caught Jen's flu!! AGH! I started with a bit of a headache, then a fever, then I was hanging out in the loo for long periods of time, AND I have TOM which makes it that much worse! YIKES!! Wish I could curl up on office floor!! Oh well... Only 2.5 hours to hometime....even if b/f wants to go pubbing, I am going home, no way I can sit, I am dizzy and horrid.

Did I mention my crazy clutzy spell? Last night I broke a picture frame, my lamp, my sliding window, and today and spilled OJ all over the board room table in a meeting. What the **** is wrong with me?? :?: I was so embarassed.:o Of course, b/f thinks its v. funny. He "loves" how clumsy I am. Can we say jerk??? Oh well... :(

Tonya, HAPPY BDAY!! I hope you come back andread the thread! Happy 30th, don't forget to post here still and post your pics!!

Stacey = glad your tummy trouble is on teh way out!! I can relate....

Trish and Janet - ooo, more 30's. I am 25 - on the way to 30!! They say 30 makes you more sure of yourself as a person. I hope so.

KIM- First of all, all Paps SUCK! Secondly, it sucks worse when you are worrying, but my good friend recently had that procedure as well. She was pretty freaked out going in, but rest assured, that LOTS of women end up with the "pre cancerous" cells and abnormal cells (just look at how many on our board!)- your doctor is being cautious. Plus if they were cancerous, they would be zapped and you'd be fine. Hopefully b/f is there to support you (timewise, not emotionally, of course he'll emotionally support you)....good luck and may the force be with you!!!

I gotta get some work done

B

Trish O 07-20-2001 04:24 PM

Belle: I think that is true, that when you are in your late 20s and early 30s you really get to feel very comfortable in your skin. Even my weight does not bother me as much...or can I say in the same way. Even with all of the ups and downs of this year it has been a peacful time because I am more comfortable with me. I hope that this continues even more the older I get. Some things really do get better with age.

Ok, now I feel like an old lady. That part does not get better.

Oh well, I think I will skip out on work early. I am tired.

Trish
