No money for new clothes

I just got these pants for work, and now I have to keep pulling them up at work, which I hate, but I can't afford to buy all new clothes now, what about next month-will I need new ones then too? I probably shouldn't be complaining but since my boobs aren't what they used to be either, all my shirts hang lower -revealing more cleavage than a hooker. Any advice for someone who wants new clothes but not until she reaches her goal? I can't sew to save my life and can't afford to get anything tailored. All I've done so far is buy a belt.

MeRam2 01-30-2006 12:58 PM

Hi DEZINERJEN - you know what I do while losing.............I go to the salvation army..........look for nice, clean, quality clothes and ta-da....I have a cheap temporary "new" wardrobe! Some people don't like to do that, but I figure I TAKE really nice stuff there so other people probably do too! I'm always pretty lucky in finding cool stuff. Ralph Lauren Polo Jeans, Bill Blass, Gloria Vanderbilt, Aero, American Eagle.............just have to search for it! My daughters laugh at me and when I go in there, they tell my family I shopped at "Sals Boutique"!!! Funny, silly, kids!

Good Luck!;)

iowasteph2 01-30-2006 01:00 PM

Hi, ladies!

I don't have many suggestions for clothes, as I'm encountering the same issues. Fortunately, I still have some of my old clothes that fit me again (finally).

I think I might have a stress fracture in my foot. I'm not sure (since I've never had one before), but after reading about it on the Mayo Clinic website, it appears that I have the symptoms. I guess I'll have to take it easy for a while.

I hope your week is starting off well!

Elanajel 01-30-2006 02:13 PM

I think the thrift shop clothes are a great solution. I once got a beautiful down winter coat--originally from Lord and Taylor--it was $10!

I've needed new bras for months now--haven't made the time to go buy them and I am constantly pulling my straps up. I am shopping on Wednesday and can hardly wait!

Fun low points breakfast I had: slice of Ezekiel bread (1 point) toasted, spread with warm goat cheese (2 points) and topped with sliced apple. It felt very European. The mix of textures was a nice change from oatmeal.

Be well.

iowasteph2 01-30-2006 07:44 PM

I lost .4 tonight at our meeting. I'm thrilled that I lost, even if it's only .4! (and I know that I should say "only.") TOM this week, so hopefully I'll have a bigger loss next week.

fost40 01-30-2006 08:00 PM

Congrats on your weight loss! I think that you should go to the SAlvation Army or some other thrift store. It will allow you to purchase clothes without spending alot of money. You can save your money for when you reach your goal. Best Wishes.

MeRam2 01-30-2006 09:25 PM

hey Steph...........I just noticed your ticker.........you have already lost 25#!!!!!! Wow, that is great!!!!:cp:
I don't know where I've been or why I didn't notice that before this!!! :dizzy:

iowasteph2 01-31-2006 09:36 AM

Thanks, girls! Jeanne, it's funny that you mention that, because I was the same way last night at our meeting. I lost a few pounds myself before I joined WW, so I looked at my booklet yesterday after I weighed, and I was like, "Wow! I've lost 17 pounds!!" to myself. I'm thrilled, but it seems to good to be true! It also feels like I'm going to gain it all back any minute!

luflic 01-31-2006 02:22 PM

Hey sistas, I agree with the second hand store thing for clothes. I have a jail ministry and go there for clothes all the time. You can't believe what great things people bring in. But like Reram I have brought in so many things with tags still on them myself.

What is Ezekiel bread???? A bread I don't know about emmmm.

DEZINERJEN 01-31-2006 05:05 PM

Thanks for the awesome ideas ladies.

Oh My goodness to work in a candy store. Can you ever get tired of chocolate? You are better than me. Only harder place to work for me would be a bakery.

Hate those days when you just can't get full. You are so right those days are from the:devil:

Hope this day is going better for you!

MeRam2 02-01-2006 04:57 PM

hi girls! Well, I made it through the day. Not completely "chocolate free". But, I didn't eat breakfast or lunch because I did KNOW that I couldn't NOT eat some at work today. But, I plan on having a healthy dinner. Like.......LETTUCE.....haha! My daughters and I are going for a walk in a little bit. So, that will help me feel a little better;) .

izzywas - sounds like a yummy day!
luflic - NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT........I NEVER EVER EVER GET TIRED OF THE CHOCOLATE! I have been with this company for over a year and I love it MORE than when I started there. There is so much more to chocolate than hershey bars. :o lol!

MISTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTY.........where o' where have you gone?
Caroline??????? I'm looking for you too!!!!!

Hope everyone had a great day! Talk to you later!

MistySeptember 02-02-2006 02:39 PM

hi.

I gained 3 pounds. I was expecting a gain. But NOT three pounds.

Jeanne-Bless your soul for being able to work in a candy store. It would kill me. I'd either implode from the stress of trying not to eat it or explode from the vast quantities I would consume. Plus, I wouldn't make any money as my whole paycheck would go for candy. I have been really hungry latley too. Not just the munchies, but my stomach is really growling and I get a headache. It's getting better so maybe it will pass.

Steph-how are you healing? I thought my ankle/foot was stressed fractured. Luckily it was just a very bad sprain, which after months it still bothers me.

Lisa-Your menu's look great! They always make me hungry.

Well I adjusted my piggy bank to reflect my current weight loss and exercise. Plus, I skiffed some money out o fit as we are flat broke this week,. Lucky for me I had several dollars in quarters to make up what I lacked.

I hope to do some meal planninga nd grocery shoppingthis weekend. That is as long as I get my butt in gear and finish planning.

Have a great day!!!

iowasteph2 02-03-2006 11:01 AM

Misty, don't let the gain get you down. Try to use it as motivation to do well this week. You can do it hun!! My foot seems to be doing quite a bit better, but I haven't done any exercise on it at all. I was actually planning on trying a little aerobics last night, but I ended up in bed with a migraine.

Jeanne, you're doing awesome. Keep it up!!!

Take care, and have a good weekend everybody!!!

luflic 02-03-2006 04:24 PM

Welp ladies no loss this week:( But really can't blame anyone but me because I went off the wagon last saturday remember... The scarey thing is the superbowl big football fan and have people coming. Bought no no food and brought it into this house. I did buy myself some healthy snacks so that is somewhat of an improvement. Have a great week end all and catch ya come Monday!

MistySeptember 02-05-2006 09:04 AM

HAPPY SUPER BOWL SUNDAY

There you go Jeanne Black and Gold Just for your LOL

I am not sure what we are doing for the superbowl. I really don't care about either team. We'll probably just go across the road to my in laws. My kids have had a stomach thing going on. WHY are they so sick this winter? My daughter has never been on an antibiotic, we had gone two years with kids she was rarley sick. Now that we have two and I babysit we're sick ALL the time. I swaer my daughter threw up nine times during the night Friday. Then my son got it yesterday. I am so tired of cleaning up barf. Then this morning I"M sick!.

Oh well what are you gonna do? I'm not real worried about over eating tonight. My inlaws don't get into the super bowl like my parents do. They may order a pizza and they always have chips and stuff at thier house no matter what day of the week it is. I feel pretty yucky so I doubt I will eat much of anything at all.

Well enjoy the game everyone and have a fabulous Sunday see you on Monday!

MeRam2 02-05-2006 09:46 AM

Super Bowl Sunday........

 hi everyone! Yep, it's Steeler Sunday at our house!:carrot:
You are never going to believe this.........Well, my husband works daylight today........there are so many call offs in his department tonight (for the Superbowl) that he is being forced over! I yi yi! He is not a happy camper!
As you know, I live very close to Pittsburgh and you can't go anywhere without seeing flags, banners, jewerly, clothes, socks, you name it people have it up or are wearing it. This is the biggest hoopla that I have ever seen. I think the last time they went to the Superbowl was in 1996, and I really don't remember the support like this!
Anyways.............
How is everyone doing? Diets? Exercise? Smoking? Food Menus? Kids?
I have been eating well, planning well, and getting a "little" walking in with my kids, but.........still no loss! :?: Like I told you guys before, I just can't get the full feeling. I really would like some McDonalds or something. And I don't mean a salad or chicken or a parfait..........I mean a double cheeseburger and large fries! lol! :( I have been craving that! I dunno! I should probably let into my craving once in a while, but working in a chocolate store doesn't give me much lee-way. Know what I mean?!
Well, gotta scoot..........
Have a great day everyone. Root for our STEELERS for me!

DEZINERJEN 02-08-2006 11:26 PM

I hit the 5 lb mark... finally

Oh thank GOD for excersize! I finally made it to the 5 lb mark! I'm soooo excited, that means I have made it to my first goal. But because it took so long, I doubt I'll be at goal for V-Day. I'm getting a massage instead of chocolate... hopefully no one suprises me with any. Anyway, hope everyone has a good V-day.

MeRam2 02-09-2006 11:09 AM

:carrot: woohoooo, wooohooo, wooohoooo! Congrats Jen!

DEZINERJEN 02-09-2006 07:36 PM
