Hello again Owls!

Flyin' on through....

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I just got home from work and feel like I smell like cat stink. We were treating a cat at the end of hours that was constipated AND urinary blocked! Poor guy...his um.....er, holes....are gonna be SORE. This cat is 25 lbs, is diabetic, obese (obviously), and has constant BM problems. A condition called megacolon. I think that name kind of explains itself, eh? Good luck, Ernie......

On THAT note (sorry!), just a few quickie comments and hoppin' in the shower.
Brenda- that current weight on your profile looks awfully attractive to me. Motivates me to get down under that "2-as-a-first-digit-weight" more and more!! Gettin' there!

Candice- when you're done organizing your place, come on over and start on mine, would ya? LOL!
Did you ever think that one day you would be saying that you DON'T want to lose any more? Congratulations on that big accomplishment!

PJ-- You cracked me up saying what you did about "who needs man..I do it all anyway?" Sounds like my house!
Yes, here in NJ recently, it got a little on the chilly side in the mornings. Came right after a heat wave. Crazy weather!
That's neat that there's a trampoline at your barn! (and a pond, and ALL that other fun sounding stuff!) I guess all the kids play doesn't bother the horses much?

Hello all you other Owls! Enjoy your day! I'm off to shower!

Good Evening Owls!!

How is everyone doing? I have felt myself falling off track so I decided I needed to re-motivate myself. I am one of those people who are addicted to the scale and yes it rules my world. Yes I know that is a BAD thing but I just can't stay off it so I have decided to make it work for me. I did it a few months ago and it really helped so I decided maybe it will help me now. I used graph paper and made myself a graph chart. I will weigh myself each morning and record the results and hopefully watch it go down. It makes me totally wonky so I have to make it work for me or it will drive me crazy. Tomorrow is my last day off from work, I have to get up at 6am and drive the kids to portland, me. and meet their dad, he will be taking them til next Sunday. We are going to visit for awhile in Portland with my brother and his wife, it will be a nice break before driving back.

I did 1.5 miles on the treadmill last night at the gym because I missed the kickboxing class, I guess on Fridays it is at 5:15 instead of 5:45. Today I rototilled around the garden to get rid of the weeds, not much but something anyway.

candice, wow I guess it is more common than I thought, Setina lost a modem awhile back too because of a storm, I guess I will have to unplug my computer from now on during a storm and hope the best for everything else. Congratulations on your weight loss, you are doing awesome.

Pj, sounds like you are busy as usual. Boy it must be hard with hubby gone so much. Don't you just hate laundry? I have been doing it all day.

Alley-oop, yes it does feel awesome to be under that 200 mark and also to finally be able to edit my profile so I could put it there, LOL! don't worry you will get there, just keep the goal in mind. You are doing great.

All you missing owls, come on out!!

See Ya

Hi Ally - I love barns too......but the bigger ones that I can sit and have a cup of coffee in ....in the morning. <grin> Actually, there's a Cracker Barrel not far from here and they have some really beautiful "barn scupltures". I'll bet yours are georgious. Must put a very nice "warm touch" to your home.

As for kids at the barn. Well, let's see. Besides having to tell them a million times a day NOT to run through the barn or past horses, it's just fine. I think it's FINALLY sinking in for Billy. Jackie already knows but Big Bill is a totally different story. He hasn't even seen Missy yet except for emails. He knows nothing about horses.....BUT HE WILL........

Sweet Dreams everyone.....

Hi Owls:

Sounds like everyone is doing well.

I have also been having the cooler weather and am loving it!!!
I hate it when its too hot and sticky.

PJ - I love the animated horse pictures you have been putting in Where do you find them. I have not looked at your pictures yet but am off to do so as soon as I am done here.

Brenda - Great loss!!!! GOOD FOR YOU

Setina - Sure see you in Maui

I have not been losing much but am learning a great deal about why I eat and what triggers it, so soon I hope things will start moving for me. I am finally walking
3-5 miles a day. My feet are hurting but I hope it will get better as the weight starts to come off.

Candice - Love your pictures I could kill a cactus so I am very jealous.

I have been on vacation this week, just hanging out and spending some much overdue time with my husband. We work different shifts and rarely get to spend more than 5 or 10 minutes together on weedays. We have been golfing and walking has been alot of fun, I am finding I am getting a bit grumpy about thinking of going back to work on Monday.
I walked two miles with a friend today and then walked the golf course with hubby so I think I got in at least 4 miles today.

Well I am off to look at PJ's pictures take care all

PJ - I just couldn't wait to tell you!! A very nice looking horse.
Looks like a great barn too!!!!!

But ouch my toes hurt looking at the kids around the horse without good shoes on. Makes me very nervous seen to many get their toes pinched.

Congrats she is a beauty!!

If I ever get a decent picture of mine I will send it to you.

Take care

Hey Penny - Yeah....I know. But if you notice....MY son is the one with almost totally covered sandals and his boots are always in the tack room. Whenever he goes into the barn or into a ring, he has to put them on and it's now an automatic thing....Well....MOSTO OF THE TIME.
Elly, the horse in back of them ...... is just an ole plug and as long as they're not in the ring or around any other horses......it's ok with me. I"m responsible for my kids...and I agree with you but I'm so tired of repeating myself to their parents......oh well, their kids toes, right?
I"m off to feed Missy.....yikes...it's already 10:30am......see ya later.

Default ~Good Morning~

Candice - What a beautiful house and yard!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!! I'd say the same for your hubby but I can't really see him too clearly

Love the swing too. About the website with the hunks......it's an awesome site....with lots of wonderful graphics and animations. Whoever Meme is.....she's very gifted and I love the fact that she has religious links options on there as well. It's time for me to update my webpage. I'm definitely going to use some of her graphics and put a link to her page on my page.

I felt so gross when I woke up this morning.....fell asleep without brushing my teeth....eeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww
I'm starting to have some second thoughts about keeping my "Missy" at the barn where I'm at. So is the couple (Beth and Jim) that helped me van Missy home. We do soooo much work around that place it's ridiculous but last night took the cake. I was working with the bobcat, leveling out the front ring to make it all sandy because we'll be putting in some cavaleties and barrels, and it's large enough that there can also be a lesson going on in the other half. Make a long story short......when I walked into the barn, everyone started laughing hysterically. They said the only white you could see on my body were my eyeballs.... (Of course that's not what I'm pissed off about, just thought it was funny). Then one of the new boarders callled me at home and was concerned about his horses "sheath"....(don't ask).....and I told them I'd be right there. I showed them how to clean it and what the problem was and then went back home to take a shower, make dinner for my kids and and straighten up a bit since Bill is finally coming home today (5pm flight). THEN......I get a call from "someone" that Missy is freaking out in her stall (again, she hates being confined) during a thunderstorm. This was at 9:45pm and my kids AND I were sound asleep. She was incapable of putting the halter on my horse and leading her out to the pasture!!!!!!! Geeeeez, she shouldn't have a horse or own a barn it she can't even lead a horse! THEN!!!!!!! I get another call from another boarder around 11pm.......Beth (my friend) asking where the heck is she supposed to turn her two arabs out because all of the horses, except mine were in different rings. I had no idea but told I'd meet her and we'd clear up the debris that should have been taken away when it was cut down the day before in one of the back pastures. I didn't want her out there in the dark, out in the boonies by herself. She dicided to turn them out in the ring I had "Bobcatted" earlier which was only sand now and but also meant no grazing for her horses and SHE WAS PISSED. It's very bad for a horse to eat off of sand......thank God her horses know better and we just put a few flakes of hay in la arge barrel in the middle of the ring. THEN......Adrienne calls me at 4:30am - to tell me she has a leak and there's water all over her bedroom floor......she was expecting ME to come over and help clean it up after the day from He** !!!!!!!!!! j Oh..OH.!!!!!! the best part?????? The "jerk" who lives in the studio apartment in the stable got drunk and thought he'd "play" with the bobcat in the dark! You should see what he did to the grass.......all this after Bob and I were NOT doing donuts (quick circles) with the bobcat so as not to tear up the grass. I have no idea what he thougth he was doing so when I got there last night at 11pm to meet Beth, I took the key out. Especially since it was leant to ME from Mr. Palmer down the road!!!!!! AAAGHHHHHHH, can you say P.I.S.S.E.D. O.F.F. ???/!!!!!!! ^%^#$#@@#^##$#%##

oK........still doing well on program, today is another day....I've bored you all with this story but I HAD to vent. Sorry, really and truly but I feel better now. <grin>

I have to go now and see how Missy is doing and then take Billy to camp. I hope YOUR day is much better than my yesterday and I hope MY today is better than my yesterday also. Wish me luck.

Hugs to you all,
~Pamela~

OMG, PJ!!

That's terrible about what happened at the barn, especially since you love it there so much. (maybe not all of the people, but the farm itself)

I hope things get better for you there.

Wow Candice..47#!! Congratulations!

Everything is always better in the morning

Bill got home last night and although we didn't have any alone time, both kids slept with us cause Daddy was there and we all laughed and giggled for about an hour until we finally pooped out. I'm so glad he's home, I really missed him this time. Not that I don't always but this time just seemed a little worse.

GREAT NEWS - Mr. Palmer, the man who leant me the bobcat came to my rescue. I"m out of the barn and at his place..at the opposite end of the road and in 10 acres of open pasture that is all grass!!!!!! He has two Paso Finos and that's it so right now Missy is in the front 3 acres which is fenced in around the back of his house. I'll let her join the others in a few days. Beth and Jim ARE coming with me next week since Mr. Palmer thought he had nothing better to do, was planning on doing it, so he's going to build a four stall paddock for us this weekend. He's absolutely the sweetest old man I've ever met. He also owns 500 acres about 10 mis. from us with about 300 head of cattle and said we could use that to trailride anytime we wanted. He ALSO gave me full run of the pastures. He said the Paso Finos never get ridden and I could ride them whenever I wanted so now.....I'll be able to get my legs ready for Missy. Anyway, he had started last week on putting in all new fencing and said he'll be done with the paddocks by this coming Sunday. Ok......NOW can you spell H.A.P.P.Y. ???????
Are you ready to hear WHY I left to quickly yesterday? Adrienne called me on my cell and TOLD me to bring the key to bobcat back because it was on HER property and SHE was responsible for it. NOT TRUE.....but I obliged her since I know she's totally stressed out and when I got there, she grabbed the key out of my hand before I even got out of my car and said "the next time you want to talk to my daughter, you ask me first". She was referring to my asking her daughter why she smacked MY son (Jackie and Billy were afraid to tell me because they thought I would beat her up...... )......I reprimanded Jackie because she should have known better but anyway, I told her I believed my kids and that they wouldn't lie about something like that.....she then...out of the middle of nowhere told me to "get the FU** off of her property and get my FU***** horse out of her barn"~~~~~ I was dumbfounded. After everything I've done ...... after managing her barn for no pay just to help her get back on her feet, after watching her kids every day.......it was like the crap I went through with Christine and her three kids all over again. A couple of very good friends later asked me When are you going to learn? I just don't get it anymore. I've never been treated by people like this before. Not once did a "friend" burn me this year but Twice!!!!!! Well, when I told Bill he just said "I told you she would do that as soon as you finished with all of the hard work and got her boarders and she had money coming in AND didn't need you anymore". AAAAGGGHHHHHHHH.
Well, it was a blessing in disguise....I had to call the cops to come and get my horses vaccines out of her frig. because she wouldn't let me in and wouldn't give me any of the things I had in her house. One of the Deputy's on the force is a good friend of mine and he and another officer escorted me back to her house so I could get all of my things. You should have seen the look onher face. They even followed me as I walked my horse down the road to the new place and helped me hang the buckets and all.
I can now see Missy from the road so I drove by there as soon as I woke up today around 7am just to see how she was and there she was.........relaxed and happily grazing in the pasture. Now I don't need to buy hay or shavings!!!!! Talk about saving $$$$$$$ and Mr. Palmer is only charging me $50. per month! He said "aw heck, the grass was just growin there before anyway". Can you believe this guy? God was certainly watching over me yesterday.....that's for sure. I think Adrienne is STILL in shock that I got Missy and all of my stuff out of there by 4pm........LOL........4 boarders came over my house last night and we all sat out on the patio and had some well deserved Corona's with lime.
They all want to go where I am now. I'm telling you guys......there was no reason for Adrienn's actions and it's just as well that I totally seperate myself from her totally. I was way too emotionally involved with her kids and her problems with her husband and MY OWN family was being neglected but I didn't really see it until I sat down and talked with everyone last night. EVERY SINGLE PERSON said that they ALWAYS saw me working my butt off and the were right. Well, I don't have a barn to worry about anymore......just beautiful green pastures and a soon to be newly built four stall paddock where they can get in and out to the pasture whenever they'd like.

Boy.....I sure am a rambler.........this should be the last time you hear any BAD stories from me for a while

Lost 2 more pounds. Don't know how??? Maybe the sweating, physical work and stress?????!!!!!!!

Have a good one.....guess I'll be showing you NEW pics now......heh-heh

Thumbs down

Hi everyone. I know, I know... I'm not posting like I should. But I've been lurking and loving how the nightowls are having such a good summer. I'm fine and losing also. I hope to make my 10% (finally) on Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed.

It's bedtime here, but I stayed up late to watch David Letterman look down Julia Roberts' blouse (which WAS hardly buttoned, but if I had her body I'd do it the same).

Oh BTW: I've never been on a horse, but it looks like I might want to someday now!

Hi All

Just a quick note, I have to go get ready for work.

PJ - I get tired just reading your stories!!!!!
Don't know how you do it.
Congrats on the new place.

I finally seem to be in control of things, I lost 4.5lbs this week
Am doing alot of walking when weather permits anyway. Would like to get a treadmill but can't really afford it this year. Between horse training and trying to save for Hawaii.

Anyhow take care all

Good to see things are going well for everyone (even you PJ after your barn problems??!! - I'm glad you found a new place.) I try to get over here and lurk every couple of days, but anyone who has ever moved know how busy this time can be.

The movers are here next week to pack and load the van. We should finish up here on Friday of next week, and then unload into our new home on Monday the 23rd. I probably won't be on-line hardly since I'm not sure what I'm doing for an internet connection yet. After being spoiled with cable hook-up, dial up will be a pain. Hopefully it is only for a couple of months.

I'm really finding it very hard to follow program, and have actually been gaining. I know it is the stress from this and the odd eating schedules and habits. Once we get the moving done in a couple of weeks I've promised myself that this weight loss and my health have to be a top priority. Between that and helping my kids get settled in a new town and home will be challenging. I know they are looking forward to having there dad around full-time again. It has been a long 8 months having Wayne home only on the weekends.

Well enough rambling for me. It's my son's birthday, and I should think about getting the kids all together for some cake. I just can't believe he turned 11 today. I keep telling myself I'm too young to have a child that old. (Right - LOL)

Have a good one.

Susan
