Hi, turtles.
First, welcome, Kathy! We're so glad you found us. I would think quilting would help keep one from mindless eating; it's something you can do with your hands. I wish I had an interest like that, but I'm all thumbs! Do you have any of your quilts posted online anywhere?
Judy, WTG losing that weight. You are such a trooper, woman. Thanks for keeping us up to date on Swania, too. I sure wish she could post again. I really miss seeing her here. Lin, too.
Bandit, WTG to you, too -- sounds like you're keeping on track.
Work has been extremely busy, and we're either going somewhere or having someone here every weekend for the foreseeable future. This weekend we're going up north to the Sleeping Bear Dunes area on Lake Michigan to stay with dear friends in their new house. I can't WAIT. We need a break in a big way.
I overate in a big way week before last and gained (no surprise). This past week I counted my points each day, though I didn't try to stay within my range. Just writing it down helped. I managed to stay within my points (while using ALL my flexpoints) for the week, and I dropped most of the weight I gained. That was encouraging.
I'm finding something that's really helping me is each day committing, before God, to writing down my points. If I just commit this to myself, I don't necessarily tend to do it. But committing it before God is another story. It has kept me on track. I have no idea why I didn't think of this sooner. I'm also getting in some exercise every day, which has been good. It'll be back up in the 90s this week, so that'll be tougher.
Hope everyone is doing well. I'll keep in touch when I can, and I'll certainly keep you all in my thoughts.
Onward and downward,
Lauren
