I am new to the site and I am a Night Owl (even though I shouldn't be). It's the only time I get by myself without the kids, hubby, 2 cats, 2 birds, and the mammoth dog either fighting, screaming, chirping or chewing on me lol.
I work as a substitute teacher and get my assignments early in the morning (that's why I shouldn't be up). Who needs sleep! I haven't slept since I was a kid why start now lol.
Nice to meet you!

Hi girls and WELCOME - I think it's great that you found "us" here. Actually, NIGHT OWLS was started by Brenda several years ago and we became so abundant that the 3fc gave us our own "place". Some of us had small children (myself included) and night time was the only time we had a chance to get "in here" and chat. We all used ICQ and used to chat for quite a long time. Many of the NIGHT OWLS just didn't have the time to get in here during the day ... and so it goes... THE NIGHT OWLS evolved. Sooooo, a big welcome and I hope you two post often. It seems the original night owls are slowly making their way "home" but we've always welcomed newbies, after all...WE were all new to this group at one point too.

Hope you're all enjoying Friday. Me??? AAAAGHHHHHH....going to have to work from 2-10pm today, tomorrow and sunday......ewwwww...... but...life goes on and at this point in time...I'm just happy I've got a job to GO to. Enjoy your weekend everyone and I'll cya later.

Welcome to our new owls - always fun to have more people to chat with! I've been off line all week while I was in Jersey for a training class, and hope that having catered breakfast, lunch and dinner didn't do too much harm for the weigh in tomorrow! I did get in more water than I normally drink, and brought some stuff to exercise in the hotel room, so hopefully the damage was minimal. We'll see!

I've never been a morning person, so I can relate to those early morning calls. The last thing I want to do is get up early in the morning!

PJ, it's funny when you talk about the group starting so long ago - having kids is a good barometer when you need some reference of time passing. Scary!

Well between walking and trying to keep the kids busy, I am trying to get ourselves ready for a camping trip in Kentucky. I am the only one who has gone tent camping so this should be an adventure lol. It seems the only time I can have to myself right now is at night. (True for all of us)

Tomorrow is my first day off in quite a while and my feet are KILLING ME!!!! I have FLAT feet with heel spurs...and my weight only makes it worse. I'm going to try the "gel soles" so I guess "I'll be gellin" tomorrow.

Seriously though, I'm going to a specialist this week at my primary physicians request. My feet are REALLY, REALLY killing me. I broke both my ankles in a car accident back in '80 and I guess it's catching up to me. I'm so tired of being in so much pain by the time I get home from work. That alone should give me the incentive to lose the weight!!! I can't imagine what it would be like to wake up in the morning and just get out of bed without any pain. Hmmm, maybe some day...just not tomorrow or the next day....booo hooo.....

O.K. ... I'm going to try and get some sleep. It's 2:45am and I'm FINALLY getting sleepy......

Goodnight My Owls

Hello, all you Nite Owls!
I'm so very glad to have found you. As you can see, I'm usually up pretty late and I would love someone to talk to! I'm 42, have been remarried for one and a half years, have two children - Rachel (9) and Mitch (12) - and two steps - Jessie (15) and Brandon (17). I read earlier where someone sufers with Fibro. Me, too. I also sufer with Systemic Lupus. The double-whamy! I also love dogs (well...ALL animals, but especially dogs). I have an Australian Shepherd named Jennie (8) and a baby dachshund who just had surgery on his lungs last Wed, named Gus. I'm so much enjoying my pupy! I forgot how much fun they could be. Well, too bad it's so late now that I found you, but I should be cracking the sheets. BTW, anyone here from WA state?
See ya tomorrow nite?

Pamela Jo: There are these shoes that a friend of mine found that work wonders on her feet and knees. She has spurs and joint problems. They have a spring coil heel and I know that they are great because whenever I was her sub I used her sandals.
She had sneakers and sandals. The best thing about them is that you can get them anywhere. They are called ZCoil shoes. If you want to see a picture of them, go to ebay and put zcoil shoes in the search and you will see oodles of them.

They aren't the most stylish things but the comfort is tremendous!!!! Ever since my friend got hers, she has lost 20 lbs because she can walk again!!!

Wow - Thanks for the info...I'll check it out as soon as I'm done on here. Really, thank you very much! As far as "style" ... I don't give a rats A**.... At this point, I'll be so grateful just to be able to walk around without such intense pain
thanks again

Hi Cheryl - I have Fibro so I might have been the one who posted about it. Soooo, I too have a "double whammy" between that and the FEET! AAAGGHH!!!! Hey, life's a bowl of cherries, it's full of pits...so we put them aside and move on, right? right! Hehehe. Sounds like you have a wonderfully full life with that large family of yours. I got divorced last year after almost 17 yrs. of marriage. It's tough starting over but I'm doing it and finding that I actually like not having to "answer" to anyone. Not that I really had to before but you know what I mean. I've got my hands full enough right now just trying to get financially stable again, my new job, taking care of a teenage girl and a 10 yr. old boy and the rest that life throws at me...lately, it's my alcoholic EX husband. Boooooooo!!!!!!!!! I thought that when you got divorced...it was over!!!! HA!!!!! what a big lie....

Elaine - Yes, the kids ages ARE a real eye-opener, aren't they!!??? I'm so glad to have become a part of this group though...you guys have always been here at one point or another...I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!

O.K. - It's time for me to head outside in the heat and do some errands since today is my day off...as much as I would love to just vegetate on the couch all day with my feet up and watch good movies.

Hey, by the way...I thought I'd start a post where we can all put our real names and a little info about ourselves...only if you'd like...if not, just don't do it...it's your choice....me? I'm doing it... so please feel free to join in if you want. It's called "our profiles".

Cya later,

Those are some weird looking shoes: http://www.zcoil.com/ And there's only one dealer in New England, and it's a podiatrist's office!

I have the nickname of Imelda, because of all the shoes I buy and never wear more than once. I have yet to buy a pair of shoes that I can wear right off and not have problems with them. With me, it's usually getting shoes that rub my heels into blisters. I've tried all sorts of things (except clogs, which I never could wear without falling out of them!) so am up for any suggestions myself.

I'll have to see if I can check these shoes out and see if they'd help with that, too.
