Hi Everyone,
I thought it was time to start a new thread seeing as how we were on page 2 on the last one. I have not had a chance to read all the posts but did notice that Judy had posted and is doing wonderful so I just wanted to say hi and congratulations to her. I have had a busy weekend with my brother visiting from Maine and we went to my dad and sisters graves and planted lots of pretty flowers for them. It was nice but kind of depressing, we also lost our electricity on Saturday night for a few hours, no storm or anything so I don't know what happened. I took my girls and my niece to the carnival on sunday and they had a ball and I got in some exercise, hopefully enough to work off the dough boy that I ate.:) This is the first time I have been online since friday night so I will try to catch up soon. I hope everyone had a nice memorial day. Brenda |

Good morning. Just checking things out. Getting into a routine again for coming on line in the morning, reading and drinking coffee.
Not too much to report. Off today and back tomorrow for one day. That's not bad, then off for another week unless I chose to pick up another shift next week. Having a good week with WW and trying to get in some exercise. Having a hard time with my one foot lately. Gives me lots of problems of being sore in the heel. Trying different appliances in the shoe to see if it helps. I've been getting in the water and drinking lots of crystal light. Sure makes a difference when it comes to weighing in. Really notice when I drink the water. I actually lost the week with PMS and the following week when I had my TOM. So I guess it does make a difference. Getting close to my big day. I had in the past said I wanted to be a life-time member when I turn 40, but I guess that I will have to wait and become a life time member in my 40th year. My birthday is June 1 and I will be 40. There I said it out loud!! Yikes, I find it so hard to believe and this is the first milestone birthday that has been bugging me. Any advice from any of you gals on the other side?? I guess I can still talk like that for 3 more days. I told Rob that I don't want a party or anything like that. I told him I wanted a necklace or ring with 40 diamonds to make my 40th special. He told me he'll buy me a lottery ticket, that way I have at least a chance of getting it. LOL. Nothing special, probably just have a quiet day, but am planning a day of beauty on Saturday. Pedicure and maybe a facial too!! SueBee |
Hi All:
Just a quick hello I am going to be late for work. I am here have been lurking for a couple of days. Prior to that had not turned on my computer in weeks. Hope all is well with everyone. Candice - Loved the pictures. take care all |

Might be going away for a few days....
Just need to decide..My sisters daughter is graduating form High school...it's about a six hour drive and I don't handle travel well at all and now I have to try on all my clothes to see what fits includeing undergarments!LOLThis is stressing me out so no time to post individually!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to get my hair trimmed and she was running behind so I walked around town but didn't have walking shoes on! (my hips hurt form that!) Got some triming done in the yard today too..beautiful out! Another picture of my west flower bed with my cat Kitsy in the window! She loves to soak up the afternoon sun! |
Pj
Great pictures, what a nice clean peaceful place to work!
I saw your french manicure!LOL |
~Good Morning~
Candice - Oh sure...it's clean NOW!!! Because I clean it every morning and evening. LOL......I really wish I had taken some before pictures but like I said......it's still nowhere NEAR what it will look like one month or less from now. Just wait till Adrienne gives me more $$$$ to get some plants and decor for the surroundings of the barn. I'm in HEAVEN. Hey....looks like you've got your own piece of heaven there. Love the Iris plant and your plump kitty. I've always had tubby kitties....makes them more "squishy" when you cuddle with them. ;)
Hugs to you Candice and GO ON THAT TRIP......don't sweat the small stuff....here's a little ditty for you: Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy. - Anne Frank |
Hi everyone,
I lost 1#last night at my meeting so I am happy with that but that is for 3 weeks, I am not doing real well on my eating and haven't been hardly exercising at all. Pj, the pics are great, you must be having a ball. Candice, great job on the exercise too bad on the shoes though. Maybe keep an old pair of sneakers in the car in case it happens again. Penny, hi there!! Later everyone Brenda |
Weel I'm off to my mom's
Been busy all day trying on clothes that are just too big! They will have to do for now..I'm almost packed..I hate taking trips cause there is too much stuff to take..at least I have room cause DH and son #2 are not going.
I'm off to Missouri, about a 6 hour drive for me but we stop a lot so I can pee and walk! Sould be back next Thursday..I will miss you all but I packed my walking shoes and clothes and some veggies for the car..oh water too! Thanks PJ for the thought! HI Bren..a pound is a pound and they all add up! |
~Good Morning~
Candice - Wherever you are right now, I'm thinking of you and hoping you don't get stressed from the ride there. Sending good vibes your way to have a wonderful time! ;)
Brenda - Hey! Where is all this negativity coming from? I know you and you're usually not so down about a pound. I saw what you looked like when you lost all that weight and I saw the picture of you before you lost your weight. You're beautiful inside AND out no matter what size. Remember, we are Big, Beautiful Woman that are shrinking S.L.O.W.L.Y. so as not to gain it back again. You'll do it. If ANYONE will......YOU will. And Candice is right....a pound is a pound is a pound. Remember how I would always remind the "chicks" when they said "I ONLY lost a pound?"......I would tell them to envision a pound of butter sitting on the kitchen counter. THAT IS WHAT YOU LOST. Don't take that pound for granted. It's an entire pound!!!!!! Good for you and it sounds like you already know what you need to do....exercise. Even 5 - 10 mis. of something...just get started so that at the end of the day you can say "hey! I DID do some exercise and tomorrow I'll do more". The best way I know how to get exercise in when I didn't have time is to park in the farthest parking lot at the grocery store or any parking lot for that matter.....and walk. I always feel like I've done SOMETHING when I do that. Just don't do it at night. <grin> I know you're smarter than that anyway. As for the barn, yes....I am very happy right now. Bill is also coming home today, Jackie is going to "The Rapids" water park with about 8 friends and their parents and Li'l Billy is going to go with me to the barn first and then I'm taking him and Alec to the Y to swim in the large lap pool and then sign them up for summer camp and swimming lessons. I pretty much did it already but need to sign the release forms. It's a beautiful day here in Florida. Supposed to get some rain later on in the day and that's fine because Florida can always use it. There was a very large brush fire about 15 miles away from us yesterday and you could see the billows of smoke for miles and miles. I called 911 to see if they knew about it....believe it or not....there have been times when I've called and I guess everyone else thought someone else already called so noone knew. Hello?????!!!!!! So I usually just make the call to be sure. They said it was a doosey too! They had many trucks there. If we could just get a small shower every other day like we usually do, we'd be fine. Oh well, have to take the good with the bad and let nature take it's course. As for me and WW.....I've been doing well. I'm still in the size 18 but they are FINALLY getting baggy. I bought a new pair of jeans at OLD NAVY and washed them in hot water and then put them in the drier and they loosened up right away. So I guess size 16 is around the corner. You should see the over-alls I wear at the stables sometimes when I have to get "down and dirty"......LOL....they are soooooo baggy on me now. I look like a backwoods redneck from who knows where who's been "too laid back" for a looong time. Heh-heh. Well girls, that's it for me this morning. Have to get up and out of here. Have a good day and enjoy every minute that you can. Hugs, ~Pamela~ |

Hello Again Everyone:
Just a quick note to say hello PJ Sounds like your haveing a good time. My young horse is doing great!!! She just turned 4 on the 30th. Have been putting her over trotting poles etc... and she does it like she has been doing it forever. Thanks for the birthday greetings. Nothing too exciting. Went to dinner with Rob and just generally had a quiet day.
Been rainy here lately. Just hanging out. SueBee |
I can't believe that no one else has posted here since me yestereday. I guess that everyone had a busy weekend. We didn't do anything too special. The weather here hasn't been very nice.
I went to my Mom and Dad's for supper last night and my Mom made a book for me filled with pictures of me growing up. They were quite enjoyable and brought back lots of memories. Had a few rough days with the WW thing, but am determined to get back on track. I figure I can still do okay, with 3 excellent days before weigh in. Hope all is well with everyone else and hope to see some action around here soon. Sue:dizzy: |
Happy Belated Birthday SueBee!!!!
Sorry I missed your Birthday!! Glad to hear that you had a good day. The Memory Book that your Mom made sounds really special!
Just a quick hello so you guys will know that I am NOT lost and will get back to you soon!! Take care..... Here is some sunshine for those of you having rainy days!!! emmy |
Hi All:
What on earth has been going on here?? :?: I haven't been able to get in for a couple of days and now all these changes. Hope all is well with everyone I am still counting points and going to OA meetings. They have been more help than I could have possibly imagined, and I am making alot of new friends. I am down 7lbs this month so something is sure working. My spirits a up, now if the weather would just cooperate. Its been dreary and grey here for over a week and I have had enough I need some sun :) Take care |
Good morning. Glad to see some other people posting. To all you lurkers out there.....HELLO....say hi sometime. I can hear your breathing!!
Had a great day on program yesterday. Trying to mend 2 bad days from the weekend. Usually I try to make the weekends the same as other days and not get too stressed out about them. Yesterday when I went for my walk with sister and three babies, I brought along some of my corn bran, and ended up sharing it with all three of them. Glad to see that they like it too!! Usually we go out around 1030 and don't get home until after 1:00 and by then I'm very hungry. So now I think that I'll start bringing along some cereal to hold me over. When I got home yesterday I had a greek salad...olives, feta, tomatoes and cucumbers with some melba toast......very good. Will have to keep that in mind for other lunches. Then had Scott's favorite for supper....chicken fahitjas. Very good and very easy. No mess, as everything is cooked on the barbeque. If there is anyone that lives close to Ontario and is interested in sending my some Kashi cereal called Good Friends could you let me know. We don't have this product in Ontario yet and I'm interested in trying some out. Of course I would pay you!! Send me a note. [email protected] :smug: Well that's all for now, hope tyo hear from more of you gals soon. Have a great day. SueBee |
:) Wow, can't believe that this has happened twice, that I posted and nobody else has. I know you are out there soewhere. Come and say hi!
Had another great day on WW yesterday. Why can't I be this controlled all the time? Went shopping and bought some clothes. Went walking last night and met up with Rob and Scott at the soccer field. Good game, they played their first match. It was close, but they lost 2-1 in about the last 10 minutes. Scott was playing nets and was getting razzed by a player from the other team standing right in front of his net. The funny thing is, this kid also plays with Scott on his ball-hockey team and has quite a reputation as being very aggressive. Scott was thinking that he's quite a jerk, and I told him no matter where we go in life, we will always have to deal with jerks.!!! It's hard to teach your kids that life isn't always fair, but they find that out sooner or later. Don't have anything planned special today. Hopefully will get out for a walk. Just a reminder that if anyone lives close to Ontario, I would be interested in getting some Kashi cereal sent to me. One by the name of Good Friends. Any interested people out there willing to help me out?? Have a nice day and try to behave yourself. SueBee |
What the world really needs is more love and less paperwork.
~Good Morning~
Well, it is officially summer here in Florida and it's hot! Not up in the mid 90's but it's going to get there. Thank the Good Lord that he enabled us to have our pool put in when we built this house five yrs. ago. The kids LIVE in it lately and I usually don't leave the house for long because I just hang out in my suit with a large T-shirt over it while doing gardening or whatever (today it's weeding) and then I jump in and cool off then drink down alot!!! of cool water. It's very easy to get dehydrated here and I've finally found a way to keep the kids from running in and out of the house for more water. I put a large sports cooler in the garage and it's working out fine. Duh! Hello??? Took me long enough to figure out. SueBee - I emailed you regarding the Kashi. :) I haven't been around much lately because I've been busy and I'm sure that goes for the rest of you as well. My kids got out of school much earlier than most of yours and I'm sure many of you are all having last minute B'day parties, school parties, etc. Hang in there, it will all be over soon. ;) I had to go to the Doctors yesterday for some MORE paper-work as to my injuries from my car accident. I am now having alot of pain with my right knee but I think everything is finally coming to a close. I can't wait to put this nightmare (and I MEAN nightmare since I have them all the time..I'll explain some other time but it's all related to the accident) behind me. I've had a painful two days. Nothing seems to help but I go through this every couple of weeks and just have to go with the flow and take one day at a time. I have NOT been OP for a couple of days. Night before last.....after a long morning at the stables power-washing the side walls.......I was pretty much lying on the couch for the rest of the day. Well, around 9pm....(the kids were not home and it was just Bill and I) ....I told Bill that I just had this CRAVING for some Ben and Jerry's icecream....any flavor...I didn't care...just make sure it's gooey. ;) So he got 2 pints and I finished ALL of mine (had heathbars in it ) and THEN......I polished off the little that was left in Bills too about an hour after that! Wow!!!!!!!! TALK ABOUT A BINGE!!!!! I didn't feel too bad......I just made sure I haven't gone on the scale this week. ;) and as long as I only do it ONCE IN A WHILE!!!!!!! I don't see any harm in indulging. I know mine was a reaaaal biggy but boy.....it was a very pleasurable experience. Heh-heh. Today, I'm about to have my 2nd cup of coffee....and then I'll make my soy slim-fast shake and I'll plan the rest of my day. Soup for lunch and I already know I'm making roasted chicken for dinner. This time, I wrapping it in tin-foil and cooking it on the grill with baked potatoes and sweet corn. I'll serve salad and rolls with it and that should take care of my day. I bought a bag of apples and have to remember to atleast put one in my car so I don't forget to have it. They're so much better for you than most people realize. That's it for me. I hope you're all having fun wherever you are and whatever you're doing. Remember, if any of you are down this way for the summer.......let me know. I love company and I love to entertain. Hugs to you all, ~Pamela~ |
I received a couple of emails saying they NEVER saw my ~DAILY QUOTES~ until just the other day. Since there are so many "stickies"....I'm always at the very bottom and not many people notice my posts. Brenda - Is there any way you can fix this? Do we really need all the stickies to be where they are? Is it possible or is anyone else interested in having the most recent posts/topics to pop up at the top like they used to...except of course for the NIGHT OWLS posts. Anyway, it's just a suggestion and I hope noone gets bent out of shape because that's not what I'm writing this for. I just didn't realize anyone else besides Judy ready my DAILY QUOTES and it seems that other people like them as well. They ARE meant for you all. I'm glad you like them. Any suggestions Brenda and Tara would be greatly appreciated and if it's not do-able, they'll just have to live with it the way it is which is still a wonderful forum. Geeeez, I LOVE THIS PLACE. ;)

Hi guys... I'm back finally. Thanks to you all for not forgetting me. The good news is that school is out and graduation is over and Steve is trying hard to cope with his illness while I am trying hard to sleep past 5:30 in the morning!
I am online mostly in the early mornings, before anyone gets up (JUDY TIME) so I'll probably do most of my posting then. How great it is to see you all again! |
Hi everyone,
Pamela, thank you for your wonderful post to me. I have not been back online since my last post. I have been sick and also down in the dumps, as I see you allready could tell by your last post. Anyway thanks for being such a good friend, I am starting to feel a bit better, seeing your post really helped. For my Birthday(May 31st) my mom gave me $50 bucks and I am starting a new clothes fund for when I get down another size, maybe that will help me stay on program. Hello to all the owls, I will try to be around more. Brenda |

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BREN!
:spin: :spin: :spin: :spin: :spin: :spin: :spin: :spin: :spin: Hi Owls, I miss you all. I have been very sick and have way to much going on right now. I do hope to be back one day soon. Love to all Setina |
Hi All
Long time no see, I can tell its been pretty quite around here. I have been riding my horse, enjoying the nice weather while its here. You know we don't get it very long for around here. I have not posted much but have been trying to keep up on everyone. Candice - I love your pictures!! How do you do them? Everytime I have tried to put one in I get an error that says its too large and cannot be used. Any suggestions. PJ - I envy you and all your nice weather, although I don't know how you do it on all the really hot days. I get miserable here when it gets above 80, its the humidity that does me in. If there is a cool breeze its not to bad. Would love to put in a pool but here it would only get used a couple of months out of the year, so it doesn't really seem to be worth all the money it would take. take care |
Working in the yard again!
I just don't know when to rest...I just keep plugging away untill I can't do anymore! I just love being outside so much more than doing work inside:) (not the hot and humid stuff can't stand that either)
Penny..Do you have a program on your puter to crop or resize your pictures..I just learned how to do it, my brother had a program he was not using so he gave it to me..nice huh! Happy BD Sue Bee...Sorry its late! Happy BD Bren........Ditto:) Nice bod PJ! I think we all would like to look that when we grow up:lol: |
Hello!!!
A quick Hello to all my owl fiiends before I head off to sleep...things have been hectic and I have been off program but not too terrib;e...miss being here with you and will be back soon
Night emmy:smug: |
Brenda - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!! I have had many "senior moments" lately.....heh-heh....and have been VERY bad with my PARENTS Birthdays and Anniv. AAAGGGHHHH....I've got a "full-plate" I guess. :dizzy:
Penny I ride in the evening, after dinner. Now and for the next 3-4 month are the hottest of the year. We just wear t-shirts while out in the sun and as soon as we're done riding, we "slip" into a stall and change into a tank top. :o We leave the horses tunred out in the pastures at night when it's nice and cool. During the day, we keep them in their stalls except to take them out, wet them down or bathe them. I like to wet them down atleast once a day. Sometimes twice and then spray natural fly spray on them. This way, when their coat dries, the repellent is on the top and works twice as well. There's just no way of getting around the flies...although we dont have many (since I'm neurotic with fly paper and "water/sugar bags".....but I still hate flies....Eeewwwww. Candice - I'm always in my suit (like today) while working in the yard. I jump into the pool every 1/2 hour or so and gulp down about a pint of cold water.....it's like I've breathed life back into myself again. I love being outside rather than inside also but I can't stand the thought of a messy house to go INTO after I'm done working around the yard. Well, this OWL is going to bed. Waaaaay past my bedtime tonight. I poped. Sweet Dreams everyone, Hugs, ~Pamela~ |
Messy house?????????
PJ I don't like going into a messy house either but sometimes there is not time for both! I used to have help cleaning but she moved and I haven't found anyone yet (DH likes it that way cause he doesn't have to pay them anymore!) It sure was nice to have help! I can't fret about it or I will just go crazy!!!!!!!!! I have learned to let alot of things go! Sounds like you take good care of those horses:) I hate flies too! EEEEWWWWWWWWW is right!
HI Em..miss ya! http://www.brensplace.com/cards/lightinstorm.htm |
~Good Morning~
Candice - I'm charging the battery for my camera right now and will take some pictures of a very "sad" garden. I'm heartbroken....because I'm not sure if they're just in shock or are going to die. Remember I mentioned that Bill and I had transplanted and re-arranged the entire front of our landscaping (my garden)? Well, it's been two days and even though I have been watering them in the EARLY am so as not to burn them and the early pm for the same reason....since the sun is brutal now.....they're not "fluffing up". I've got a huge box of MIRACLE GROW in the garage and I'm hoping that will help. I put down alot of good rich soil that I mix myself. This is really going to sound gross but I let about 4 of my very large pots just "sit" in the far back yard where we don't have to look at or smell them. They make a very rich soil (and full of water and buggies too.......another EEEEEwwwwwwwwww) :D I mix that with potting soil and sand.....depending on how much each plant needs and then I put a SLOW RELEASE fertilizer around the base of each one and water them well. Oh heck.....I'll just wait another 5 mis.....take the picture and post it on the picture trail page and stick the url on here for you to see. Maybe you can help me out. My Gardenia is my favorite and has grown to over 5 feet tall. My blue Plumbago is doing just fine as are the other "hardy" Florida plants but I have alot of "butterfly garden" plants that are definitely in shock and although I forget the name....there's this one Yellow flowered Plant that I also grew from a sappling and is now (if I hadn't trimmed it .....it would be over 6 ft. tall) about 4 feet high. They open in the daytime with the morning sun and close in the evening. Really beautiful. Anyway, let me take my pics and then maybe you'll have a chance to help me out. I'm so upset. I pulled all of the impatiens out and replanted those into smaller pots after cutting them down and they'll do fine on the back patio where they wont get burned.
As for the "CLEAN HOUSE".......My Insurance was paying for a housekeeper for a while until the $$$ ran out. At that time......I was unable to get out of bed many days but I also did NOT take the meds I'm taking now for pain either. Hey...it's a choice we have to make. I either take the pain killers or I can't function. For most people, if they take one percocet/vicaden....they'll get knocked out.......Ha! I have TWO with my morning coffee just to get started and enable myself to just plain FUNCTION. Doesn't impare my vision, driving, etc...........(Geez, I miss the spell-check....heh-heh). Ok......nuff about me.......Geeeezzzz :o I'm off to get some more "stuff" done. Already been to the stables and now it's time for the exciting stuff.......you know: Laundry, Floors, dusting. blah, blah. blah......oh yes! Don't let me forget my favorite. THE BATHROOM TOILETS.........:D ~Have a good one! ~Pamela~ |
my aching heels
All this talk about horses makes me want to tell you my tale of woe for the week. Glad I can look back on it and laugh, though.
Sunday, I went riding for the first time in weeks. (been working too much!) When I was riding more frequently, I bought a great pair of Ariat paddock boots. ---for you non-horsey people, this is one of the major boot makers and paddock boots come up above your ankle---- Anyway, these were the latest ones (got a really great deal and had gift certificates to use!) I think they are called Expeditions or something like that.....SUPER comfortable!! Well, they didn't even need a "break-in" period, they were so comfortable right away! Well, after not riding for a while, the skin on my heels was torn up at the end of the day. Ouch! Two already popped and fire engine red blisters on one heel, and one on the other. I haven't been able to wear shoes with backs all week! I have to walk my older son to kindergarten every day, about a 15 min walk each way (hello! that's an hour a day! LOL, not a job for my sandals, either) and I had to "modify" my sneakers to be able to walk by smooshing down the heel part. How lovely! What is usually a great way for me to get in my exercise became torture for the first couple of days. Phooey! Made a lovely fashion statement at work, too. Luckily, I work at an animal hospital and we're supposed to wear sneakers, but my modified pair, along with the band-aids to cover the ugly boo-boos were laughable. So one day, I decided to use my kids "tattoo" band-aids. They really look like tattoos! So much so that some of my co-workers and our clients actually thought I got tattoos on the backs of my heels!! PJ: I checked out your link to the stable pictures. Nice place you've got there....and nice equine friends, too!! Hello to everyone else from a lurker.....LOL to SueBee on your "okay lurkers come on out....I can hear you breathing!!." |
Alley-Oop,
So great to have you drop in and say hi and share a great story. We are on night owls #10 now so I am gonna copy and paste your post over there so nobody misses it and I will also post to you over there. Brenda |
