Part 2 - March Thursday Chatter

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would start us a new thread since our other one is so long. I just realized that we only have about 10 days left of the month but at least it won't take so long to load.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. It's beautiful here. Pat's outside working in the yard while I clean the house.

I'm down 3.8 pounds this week. It's the same that I've been gaining back and forth. I hope that I'll make the scale move in the right direction for a while.

Susan

Tina 03-19-2005 03:33 PM

Hi,
Susan, thanks for starting a new thread. We really needed it. :)
And, you are doing great on Core. Keep it up.

It's a beautiful day here. We went this morning for our church directory pictures. That's usually not my favorite thing to do but today wasn't bad. We even bought some. Of course, I wish I'd been 10 pounds lighter in the photos but that's always the case, isn't it.

I hope everyone enjoys this weekend.
Tina

Tammy 03-20-2005 07:18 PM

Susan, it sounds like Core is working for you! Way to go!! Maybe I need to go to a meeting and get the info and give it a try. It will have to be after the Emmaus Walk since the only local meeting is on Thursday, and most of our Emmaus meetings are on Thursdays.

Yesterday and today were absolutely dreary here. Friday was beautiful. I was glad that I had recess duty since it was so nice. Hope it warms up and is nice this week.

Tim played a song with the Army Field Band today. They were in the county to do a concert. The HS kids only played one song with them, but Tim said it was awesome. The Army drummers complimented him on his technique. They were impressed that he is in HS and doing so well. did that make Bob and I proud? You betcha!! lol

I have papers to grade, not many. BUT I decided that when I get off of here, I'm going to finish reading the book that I've been reading. The papers will still be there tomorrow, and I'll just do them then.

3 day week. Then off Thurs-Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon-Tues. Then back to school March 30 for a 3 day week. Nice.

auntie 03-20-2005 08:20 PM

Hi,

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We didn't do much.

Tammy, enjoy your 3 day weeks. It will be great and you need some time off. Of course you are proud of Tim, I would think something was wrong!!! You might try CORE for a week to see if you can get over the hump. It's really easier than I thought.

Tina, how is your mom doing? I think of her often.

Mimi, you are doing so well Don't beat yourself up for eating those almonds.

What are you plans for Easter? We aren't doing anything.

TARUS 03-20-2005 08:57 PM

Hello!! Well it is Sunday, and I managed to get through a full and difficult weekend. Friday evening went for dinner at my daughter's home to celebrate DH birthday. Pasta served with garlic toast, wine and strawberry shortcake. Thank goodness for the salad! Kept right on track.

Then the other daugther come over on Saturday to prepare a birthday brunch for her Dad, again I held in there. Finally Saturday evening was a St. Paddy's Day dinner at the neighbours. Thank goodness for all the veggies and once again the salad saved the day!!!

I am just so proud of my myself. Pat Pat Pat on the back.

I having fun finding out that, yes life does continue even being OP 24/7 and you do not have to be left out of anything. When I look at people's plates at dinner functions (especially buffet type settings) it is interesting to see exactly what different quantities people eat.

Actually looking forward to weigh-in on Tuesday to see if all my "good" shows up (or down).

Tina 03-20-2005 10:12 PM

Hi all,
Tarus, you have great willpower. :bravo:
Tammy, good for Tim. I know you and Bob are so proud of him.
Susan, I love your tracker!!!!!:):)
My mother isn't doing well at all.
I took her for tests and a check-up. I haven't heard back from the tests but I know the doctor thinks that she's in Congestive Heart Failure because he put CHF on the reasons for all the tests. It's really just a wait and see thing now. This could go on for a long time or not.

TARUS 03-21-2005 03:09 PM

Tina; Sorry to hear that your Mom is ill. Can they test for CHF? My Mom has had a couple of heart attacks, and a triple bypass and I think she may also be suffering from CHF, but her doctor does not do anything other than keep her on the same medication she has been on since her last heart attack. He also says her blood work is coming back as fine. What do you think??

Tina 03-21-2005 03:40 PM

Tarus, I'm sorry about your mother, too. My mother had a stroke 5 years ago and is on all kinds of meds to help her. She is almost 88 and I think the doctor just wants to keep the status quo. He's a good cardiologist, he just realizes there's not much to be done now.
I hope your mother improves.

Hi All,

I hope everyone has had a good day. They kept saying it would rain all weekend and today but so far it hasn't.

Tina, Your mom is in my prayers, just as you are. I know it's extremely hard to watch your loved ones suffer. You know I"m always here for you.

Tarus, I love strawberry shortcake. It's my favorite!!! Do you think you need a second opinion for your mom?

Tammy, has Tim picked out his college yet?

Susan

We go to visit Ball State University on Thursday. It's in Muncie, Indiana. It's just a little over an hour from here. We've already checked out Bowling Green. It's about 2 hours north of here. His official ACT scores came today. He did very well, so he won't have problems getting in to either of these schools. He still wants to be in the marching band, so that is something he'll have to consider. Both of these schools have great bands, and he has met the directors from both. In fact, when he goes to Europe this summer with the Ohio Music Ambassadors, the director is from Bowling Green.

Long day. The band did a fund raiser with Little Caesar pizza kits.Today was delivery day. I helped unload the truck and divide the orders. I am hurting, but I felt like I had to do it since I'm pres. of the band boosters. Bob isn't very happy with me. He was there too, but I had already done quite a bit by the time he got there.

I give my talk preview at the Emmaus meeting tomorrow night. It will be between 6 and 7, and I'd appreciate all of the prayers that you can give me. I'm very nervous about it. Silly.

Susan, can you give me a little info about Core?

auntie 03-21-2005 09:24 PM

Tammy,
Prayers are being sent you way!!! You'll be great tomorrow. I'll email the info.

Susan

Tina 03-22-2005 08:25 PM

Hi Everyone, ;)
Tammy, I'm sure you are doing a great job with your talk. This walk is very important to you and your talk will be excellent.

Susan, how is your weather? Ours was great today.

Mimi, that's so funny that we thought WW had a cereal. But, you never know what might be in one part of the country and not another.
How is your job going?

Tina637, we havent heard anything out of you.
Christine, how are you and all your children?
Motts, let us hear what's going on.

Sis, do you still have a hectic schedule? Is there ever time for you and your husband to take walks?

Maureen, are you still reading? If so, let us hear from you, please.
I am really psyched up for weigh-in this week. I've just got to have a loss. My tummy just feels smaller.

Christine, do you have anything exciting coming up?

Please let us hear from you even if it's just to say hi. We miss you when you don't post.

Tina 03-22-2005 08:54 PM

Susan, thank you for the site. I'll have to look for the cereals in the stores.

mummy42 03-23-2005 02:30 PM

Hi All,

New to WW and found this site through a friend. I started Monday and I am looking forward to finally achieving some of my weight loss goals. I am just trying to get a feel for the site and to which areas for conversation would be the best for me to be posting in.

I am going to have Monday weigh ins but they may change to Thursday. I am going to go to the meetings and not just do it from home as with my DH and 2 kids that is almost impossible. I have chose to use the points plan instead of the core with the hopes of switching to that when I have reached goal.

I hope this is a good place for me to post even though I am not a Thursday weigh in.

Thanks
