I just dragged my lazy arse out of bed and its 1 pm this is literally the last day i can do this as i start work this week Anyway this is brief again b/c my grams hungry which is rare so im off to make brunch Now where did i put my chefs hat |
Afternoon friends-
I too, was not expecially conscientious this weekend but I am willing to chalk it up to the learning process rather than guilt trip myself into the ground. As previously noted by BrendaN, I had a really good time, so I'd prefer not to minimize it by feeling badly after the fact. I am a work in progress (a masterpiece, perhaps?) I am the epitome of an 'Irish tanner' although I can't be sure if I even have any Irish blood in me. In my youth, I went to the emergency room twice for sunburns so I do my best to avoid sun exposure altogether. If anyone needs good sunburn remedies, I have an arsenal. The weather here has been so beautiful. The sky is such an impeccable blue and the sunlight is really . . . ummm . . . bright. That's not very eloquent. You know how in the late afternoon the sunlight becomes really thick and golden? This is the opposite. It's as if everything is just slightly sprinkled with water, really crisp and bright. I'm not so articulate, but it is super lovely, so I'm off to take a walk. Questions for Kirsty and Lolly- I just finished an excellent book set in London and North Berwick, Scotland. Can you tell me what it means to dial '1471' and what 'Ready Brek" is? Thanks! March on, valiant WW soldiers! Here's hoping for a great week for all of us! |
Hey ladies!
Congrats to the losers: Suzanne and Jen! Yay! I think I did OK eating-wise over the weekend, so I hope to join you guys in the losing club at WI this Wednesday. I've been walking my little butt off, too.
I had to work this weekend, and that meant covering an international festival. Yummy food! But I was very good, and just had a little. Of course, working Sunday didn't make for much of a weekend. And I worked late all last week. This week is busy, too. Plus, I'm taking off Friday because a friend is graduating that morning, so I have to drive to Connecticut Thursday night! Ugh. That's eight hours, so I'll have to try and get out of work a little early. Ooh. Tanning. I put "light" but I probably should have put "other." I'm pretty fair, so I generally will burn a little and then settle on a light tan. Oh, and I get lots of freckles. Well, I better run. My b/f is off tonight so I'm hoping to spend time with hi, so I better get to work! |
Hi all!
I don't bother tanning.....I just burn. :) The pain is just not worth it to me. Oh well. Not sure if I've lost or not.........just really trying to focus on switching over to my new "diet" while maintaining the points system. I'm trying not to obsess about numbers on a scale, but a budge on the downward spiral would be nice! Lolly: I tried some sweet nothings frozen dessert today. YUM! I can't wait to try the soy cream. The stuff I tried today was mango-raspberry flavored and it was so good. I liked the fact that I was actually satisfied eating a little bit rather than wanting to eat 1/2 a gallon. I have to tell you guys this is the first day I have been completly wheat/dairy/sugar free and I feel wonderful! It's almost weird. :) Course it could be the fact that I had to start work at 5:45 this morning. I could just have that lack of sleep buzz going on. LOL. Girlie: I took your advice and found spelt bread and spelt hamburger buns. Those taste pretty good. I have to go to a specialty store for the spelt pretzels and stuff. I live in a small town so natural foods like that seem to be somewhat limited in selection around here and it is an hour drive to the nearest health food store. :( bummer on one hand, but cool that I know it exists on the other. Sarah: that is really weird about your fingers swelling. Are you sure that you are not allergic to the metal or something? Stacey: And the countdown begins! It won't be long now it'll fly right by. Well gotta run. to much to do and no time at all! Chat with you all later. Emily |

Slow puter!
Golly, my puter shure is slow today! The weather here is beeeyooootiful!!!
Brenda: Did you get snowed in? haha I was thinkin bout you this mornin while watching the Today Show. I had a Lean Cuisine supreme pizza for 6 points. Totally yummy!! Tasted real, too! Gotta love that! Well, off to eat my orange. Have a great evening! |
Hey
Hi, it seems I'm not doing a very good job of keeping up! I work nights and you ladies work days!
Emily: how is the new eating plan going, without the wheat etc? What have you been doing instead of what you used to have? I liked the tanning question but I wasn't sure how to answer, so I put "other". I'm half black and half Japanese, so I'm already looking "tanned" already, but I do get darker and more golden wheat rather than just wheat... I have been on WW for almost three weeks now. I'm sort of averaging 1lb a week.....not quick enough for me, but supposedly this is supposed to be a good rate. What types of patterns do you guys get, at least when you were first starting out? I started a 3 week crunch course today...it's going to be tough, but only for 3 weeks. Plus, we get to go to an American Indian PowWow for a trip...that should be interesting! Talk to you all soon! |
Aargh, I'm stressed. I start teaching tomorrow and summer courses just kill me. I know I'll be fine once I get into it but right now I can't help but wonder how I'm supposed to lecture for 1.5 hours tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day...do I really have that much to say about neurobiology? :?:
And I'll blame it on the stress that I ordered a papa john's pizza today and ATE THE WHOLE THING--I haven't done that in months. But I know it was stress over class combined with relationship woes (the guy i'm dating is getting more serious than i am which makes me feel guilty)...it just makes me revert to my old habits. 56 points for the pizza which I just ate on all day. Yuck. Shalyne--I didn't meet the guy I'm currently dating until after I had lost most of my weight so he's only known me as a size eight (not the size sixteen that I was 8 months ago). I feel no need to tell him, and would in fact feel distinctly uncomfortable bringing it up. He's been wanting to see some pictures from my trip to europe in the fall and I've even been reluctant so far to show them to him. congrats to all you "losers" this week--I gained 0.2. heather 187.4/136.8/130 |
Girlie I have been to a Powwow they are definitely an experience to have!!!!!
ps on the xenical front i havent experienced any nasty side effects but i also had an awesome lower carb/low fat dinner creole chicken i just sprinkled with creole seasoning and slit the skin and put water in the bottom of the pan sooo juicy and then Sylvias side dishes greens and black eyed peas *droooool* a bit later i had 3 brownie bites but all together that was 129 calories and 6 grams of fat but i stopped at 3! anyway ;)woowoooo day 1 ova |
Heather you might as well show him the pics
if he likes you as an 8 that you are now why would it be a problem that you were a 16? you are worrying too much about it as for the summer class its the first day talk for 45 min and then let em loose on the world dont sweat the pizza do you have access to your schools gym? |
Perfectly crummy end to a perfectly crummy day
Well, I worked till 8pm today (an extra 3 hours) just so I could clear this one thing off my desk and feel as if I accomplished *something*. Now I only have 56 tax returns sitting on my desk waiting to be prepared. That's the biggest work load I've *ever* had, even during the heart of busy season when I was working 70 hour weeks. :(
To make my day all that much better I finally realized why my eye has been bugging me all day. Lo and behold, my contact lens had ripped in half in my eye! Now it still feels like a piece of it is stuck up there somewhere. My hubby had me dunking my head under a sink full of water and opening and shutting my eyes trying to dislodge it. On a brighter note: I'm at 22 points today. Thank heavens for small celebrations. Heather: That's a heck of a lot of lecturing going on! I used to TA accounting when I was in grad school, I had a 50 minute class (with a small lecture portion) once a week (3 classes, but I just repeated the same stuff each time). It used to take forever to prepare for those little lectures, I can only imagine preping 1 1/2 hours 5 days a week! Have you done this class before so you have stuff all ready to roll? Definitely don't sweat the pizza, it happens! The trick is to make sure you get back to "normal" right away, instead of letting it roll downhill like a big snowball. Girlie: The first time around when I lost weight on WW I used to lose two weeks, and then maintain/stay the same for 2 weeks, and so on. I believe I averaged about 1 pound per week in general, but I was not completely religious about the program, I tried to be sensible, but still live life, if you know what I mean. Slow is good, it means you're learning to live with it and you're making a lifestyle change instead of going for a quick fix. KO: good luck getting the paid internship! Your dinner sounded yummy. Pardon my ignorance, what's xenical? Stacey: I should try that Lean Cuisine pizza... It's hard to find a good low cal frozen pizza. I do make my own though, and those are scrumptious! Emily: Good luck with your new diet. How'd day one go point-wise? Jen: Congrats on the weight loss. Yarkwork is kind of satisfying, isn't it? Even if you are stiff and sore afterwards, but you've got all of those pretty flowers to look at when you're done. :) Ok, hi to everyone else! Gotta get my butt to bed otherwise I'm going to have one heck of a time functioning tomorrow! Cheers! |
