Hi Turtles,
Yesterday's WW WI was very satisfactory. I finally lost weight in the time of the week where it showed up on the WW's scale! Yay! I lost 2.8# this week, making me 214# and the lightest I've been in about two months. I know what I have to do, hanging onto this weight loss is possible, I don't want to rest on my ample laurels, and I am going to keep on keepin' on. Margo, our leader, mentioned again the idea of flexible restraint. Doing everything right? Trying to be perfect? Frustrated at eating out and feeling deprived? Use flexible restraint. Figure out what you can have once in a while and indulge with restraint! No bingeing, no feeling remorse or guilt. I am going to try and apply this in my life. DH and I went out to dinner last night for the first time in ages. We went to Outback and I had the smaller filet mignon, a nekked baked potato, and salad without the croutons and cheese. I asked and they made the salad that way--they also have a tomato dressing that is supposed to be lower calorie and I had that on the side. Great outcome along with a cup of coffee. Everything was delicious and it was good to be served for a change. Anyway--I'm sending :goodvibes: to us all. This week has eating challenges as usual, but I'm figuring out how to get around them. Love, Judy 234.6/214/thinner on my way to onederland  |
Judy - Thank you for helping to alleviate my health fears. It's that I feel that I'm living them now (at least vicariously) and I do not want to live through them again. Much of her problems stem from being hit by a car and then everything spiralled. Still, watching her deal with these struggles the last 13 years has made me prematurely aware of my own mortality even though people in my family live long lives. Thank you for the perspective. It was greatly needed. :) You've become my online mom!
Lauren - I'm right there with you about onederland. Yesterday, was the 4th of March making 4 months until July 4th. I started tracking again and wrote down my goals for myself. I just feel the need to resolve this weight issue. I registered here in April 2000 and have not made any lasting progress. At this rate, I'm no longer a turtle. I'm a turtle-in-training. :) I'm still praying for you and hubby. Come on everyone! Onderland is a great place to be. Let's do it together. Of course. once you're all skinny, I still expect you to keep in touch! :) |
Hi Turtles,
Swania, thanks for the compliments. So sorry about your Mom and her accident. and of course we're going to lose weight and of course we'll keep the group going because I understand maintaining is tough!!!! I hear you about joining so long ago and not making sustainable progress. Here I was so proud of myself for losing weight and getting on track and my doc pointed out that I weigh one pound less than I did three years ago. Ugh. No boos to my doc; he's right. So, onederland by July is a great goal. Am I a turtle-in-training? Don't wanna be, so I'm working on all this. Lauren, prayers to you guys about the jobs. Bandit, how are you doing? We've had an unpredicted storm here and I'm feeling cabin fever mightily. You all take care and stay OP! :grouphug: Love, Judy  |
Hi Turtles,
Well, I went to WW's WI yesterday and was up .8#. I honestly am fine with that, but have to get back to exercising. We were away for a couple of days, then daughter stayed with us for a few days, therefore no exercise. Not smart, but I am okay with it. Am back OP and looking forward to feeling good and looking thinner. I hope everyone's fine. Bandit, how are you? Chime in when you can. All goes well here. Take care and keep on keepin' on. Oh--WW's message yesterday was, "Why do I do what I do?" Meaning, "Why do I keep on doing that?" Good question and the easiest way around it is to stay OP and do the right things without even thinking about it. :grouphug: Love, Judy 234.6/214.8/thinner into onederland  |
Wow, I'm really monopolizing this board right now. I'll make it quick. Just got blood test results back and I'm thrilled. Exercise and eating OP got my numbers right back to where I want them to be. Huge bonus for doing the right things for myself. Thought you'd like to know.
Love, Judy  |
Hi Judy - I actually said 'Oh WOW!' out loud when I read about your great blood test results! I am so happy for you. Congratulations for a job well done! Let this be a motivation for you to keep up with your good habits. You handled that small gain well too, keeping it in the proper prespective. You're well on your way. A hug for you.
On the run, but hope everyone else is well. |
Swania,
Thanks for the nice comments! Here's a :grouphug: for us all. Love, Judy |
Hi Turtles,
Good luck and :goodvibes: to everyone today. By the way, does anyone know how to get to Suzanne, Jennifer, and Amy's journals? I used to read them regularly and now I can't figure out how to get to them. Judy |
New thread time. See you there.
