Hello, hello!
I hope you all have room for a "new" member. :) I was a charter member, way back in the day. I recognize a few faces, but not too many!! Cuba and Trish were from my old days of posting, Brenda and Stacey, I remember you from when I tried to make a come back a while ago. Anyway, I've finally gotten back into the right frame of mind to lose again! I've been faithful to the program for a little over a week now, and it feels different this time. I think I'm going to be able to see this thru to the end! Just a little about me: I started WW in October 97 and reached goal about a year after that. Kept the weight off until May of 99 when I got pg. I gained over 60 pounds with my pregnancy and since I had Benjamin in January of 2000 I only lost about 15! LOL Now that Ben is 16 months old I think it's time to lose the baby weight. ;) So here I am with about 45 pounds to lose. By profession I'm an accountant who specializes in US Tax. I work full-time, though I rigged a deal for May-Aug where I only work 4 days a week. I'm off on Wednesdays, and I'm getting quite used to that! This time around I'm not attending meetings (really no time) but I'm doing the program by myself. I've decided not to weigh weekly, but rather on the first of each month. I tend to play scale games, and I don't want to get into that routine! I hope to become a regular poster once again! Talk to you soon. Janet 180/180/134 PS: I'm 30, don't hold it against me! LOL |
Hi Everyone :) Ack I've been horrible about reading and posting...haven't been on here for almost a week now. I usually at least try to keep up with the reading. I hope you all have had a nice week tho. I was in NY visiting my family from Weds-Sat and then I went up to VT from Sat-Mon... I swear I'm never home anymore. A friend of mine is always teasing me, asking if I remember what my apartment looks like. I tell her that as long as I remember how to get back to it, it's all good. Anyways, I just wanted to stop by and say hi :) I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day :)

Ok, here's my gripe:
I am exactly where I was (weight-wise) on February 2nd! I gained last night...again...and it's really getting me down. BUT!!! I've decided to forget the whole maintaining thing and become WW police again! I am writing EVERYTHING down and NOT eating over my points. Hopefully I can shock my system into losing again. I got the wedding invitations in the mail today so maybe my evenings will be free for excercise.
Kirsty: I'm going to try to do the morning excercise thing. I usually sit around for about thirty minutes in the morning anyways. :) gotta watch the Today show. I've just decided to take an inventory check on my life and eating habits. They've gotten out of hand. Especially since I haven't been excercising. SO, today I'm a new person, an "on-fire for losing weight" person. I am also going to change my signature. Maybe that will scare me, too! Granted, I only gained .8#, but that put me back at 185!! I almost didn't stay for the meeting, but now I'm glad I did. I got a good recipe for chocolate muffins. If it works out, I'll post it. Ok ladies. Sorry I unleashed on everyone, but thanks for listening! You all are the best!!!!! Heather: Welcome back!! Jen: Emma is as cute as a bug in a rug!! (one that's not scary of course :) ) Have a wonderful day everyone!! oh yeah, I don't want to down-play my fears on tornados...they actually make me cry I get so scared! Maybe that AND stinging bugs make me scared! |
Humph!!!
Good Morning!! I lost I lost I lost I lost!!! 1.6 pounds :dizzy: I worked so hard last week to stay on track and it paid off. The funny thing is my second reaction was ‘why didn’t I lose more?’ It’s funny how you can gain or lose less than a pound and when you finally have a good loss it’s never enough. Ah well, it’s part of that whole mindset that we want it to all come off now. We have to remember that we are doing it the right way! You all need to slap me though :^: I had a workshop last night and we drank Margarita’s. Boy were they good! Then, as I was driving home I realized I hadn’t had much for dinner and the McDonalds drive through pulled me in. I was a good WW and figured up the points this morning. Are you ready for this? It put me 28 points over!!!!!! Hey, at least I counted it! Back to being a good little WW today. I had a sensible breakfast and wonderful low point lunch. Dinner will be the challenge. The Av’s game starts early, at 5 so I think I may drag me exercise machine out and do it during the game.
I had to choose ‘other’ b/c it’s a total toss up between spiders and tornadoes. A tornado hit my parents farm a couple of years back and it was like my worst nightmare coming true. On the other hand, it sometimes takes me half an hour to get rid of a spider if I’m home alone. Steph: Good luck at WI. Good job on walking the dog! Heather!!! Welcome back! Humph, like you should have any doubts about coming back. Jeez! Congrats on continuing to do so well! Congrats on the size 8! Just remember to be sensible about your size/weight. I would love to be a size 6 but I’m not sure where my body will be comfy. I refuse to work out an hour a day to stay that small and I don’t want to look like a skeleton. I know you can do it but again, be sensible. Slinko: Keep on it! Remember, as long as you are in it for the long haul and don’t quit that’s what counts. I’ve been at this 2 ½ years and still have 29 pounds to go to reach my personal goal. I know you can do it. Regroup, go back to the WW Tools for living and get some ‘new’ ideas from it! Kirsty: *applause applause applause* I’m so proud of you on the running! Lisa: Someone left a note on my desk this monring. In big letters it says ‘Blues in 6’ This means WAR!!! It’s always interesting when you have 2 groups of fans. I can’t wait to hear some stories tomorrow *evil grin* KO: Congrats on you loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Belle: Keep up the walking :D Lori: Yeah on the goal jeans!! Lolly: I love your pic! Jen: Awwwww….what a cutie Emma is! OK, getting grumpy here today. Don’t know why. I would love to go outside for lunch but have way too much to do *pout pout* You know you just have those days that people irritate the heck out of you. No, not TOM. I’ll have to E-mail on of my best friends. We trade venting sessions  "There is point at which you can say, 'Well, I'm successful now. I might was well take a nap.'" -- Carrie Fisher |
Hi Y'all.... My biggest fear... hmmm the being 40 with 40 cats one I think;) Also I guess I am kind of claustraphobic especially when it comes to crowds and stuff. Anyhoo, I am just at the internet cafe and I am going for a jog afterwards.... Ah, the fun of multitasking.
Must tell yas a story, I got the rest of my furniture delivered yesterday and the delivery guy hit on me!!! I was shocked, I am sooooo not used to this yet. I get guys staring at me a lot now though.... I am not saying it's necessarily a bad thing (except when it's a 45 year old in a pick-up truck who crawls through and intersection and just stares at ya, that was creepy, or the guys that check you out when they're with their gfs), but alas I am still not used to this. I over-ate yesterday... it was dumb why too... I had to test my baking out. Granted I used to always lick the bowls and the batter (I had a 4 point muffin), but still, I should have been better or planned making them for a time when I still had points left. Brenda: 1.6 lbs is awesome!!!! Good for you... Don't worry I had a bad evening yesterday and a bad Friday.... Don't worry, no guilt and move on! you can do this. Stacey: Cool! Do what you want to do, you'll do well! Good Luck to ya:) A gain always kicks me in the butt to do better as well. Heather: I know what you mean about finding your comfort zone, but you know what? In 8 lbs I lost 2 sizes which shocked me!! So maybe just see how you'll be at 130, I never realized a few pounds could make such a huge dfference. Shalyne: I am trying to stay at my apartment for a while now. I just like the fact that I am used to the noise now. Janet: Welcome:) Belle: Don't worry about one WI, it may be muscle as well. Don't worry you'll probably be down in no time! Lori: Congrats on being in virgin fat territory! Sarah: There are outback's in Ottawa, are there any healthy options? I wouldn't mind trying it out. Lisa: hmmm poisonous creatures.... ewwww.... I am petrified of snakes!!! KO: congrats on the loss! Angie, Slinko, Kim, Steph: Howdy! Must go! Take Care! Ali |
OK, I've been reading for a while now and I have to ask...who or what are the Av's??? It's driving me crazy!!:) Lori

Lunch time for me. I have a Smart Ones today b/c I couldn't deicde on anything to bring from home. I have gotten some work done for school but done lits of goofing off.
Ali - you make me laugh. I know what you mean about having guys look at you. When it is yucky or old men, it is gross. Stacey - congrats on gettin gyour wedding invitations out! Wait until you receive the first response back, it is so exciting!!! Brenda - Great loss! Try not to worry about yesterday. good for you for writing it down no matter how bad it was ;) shaylene - welcome back from your travels. I hope you had a good time. Janet - Welcome!!! Lori - It feels so good to get into "goal" clothes. Keep it up! Belle - Don't worry about the scale. Time of day and clothes affect your weight. Wait until WW and see what happens. I am sure you will do great!! ok, eating now. Talk later. Sarah 194.4/161/153 |
Lori :) :) :) The Avs are the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League. Sorry - Brenda and I realized a while a go that we had something in common, that we are both die-hard Avs fans. It's the playoffs, so we're a bit into it.
Brenda - Congrats on the loss AWSOME!!! Janet - Welcome. There's always room for more!!!! Nice to meet you. I forgot to confess... I went over by 14 points yesterday! But I'm eating my min today and going to the gym. Hope that helps. I'm wearing my GAP jeans!!!! I haven't worn anything but Lane Bryant jeans in 2 years. I wore these GAP jeans when I was in college, and kept them. WELL THEY FIT!!! It was exciting to fit into GAP jeans again! Lisa WW Start 220/ CW 187.5/ Goal 115/ Height 4'11" July 25th goal: 170 |
Depression sinks in ...
I am so down. I went to WI and GAINED 2 lbs.! I couldn't believe it. I knew I had overindulged a little, with the wedding I went to and all, and I thought maybe I'd see a little gain, but TWO POUNDS? I cannot seem to get below 184.4, and it's really stressing me out. Of course, then I went and had chicken fingers with buffalo sauce for lunch, which was wrong. I've got to watch the comfort food reaction.
So Stacey: I feel your pain! Let's get back on the bandwagon together! I'm hoping maybe I can get to the gym tonight before coming back to work. I need some more exercise than I've been getting. By the way, welcome to everyone who's coming back! :D Always room for more. As for the poll, I put death, because it has always scared me. I can't shake it. When I was little, I used to have massive anxiety attacks, and still have them every now and then. The other fears I forgot to put on the poll were airplanes and tunnels. I don't like flying, and tunnels, especially those that go under water. I always feel like tons and tons of water is going to rush in on me! I know, I'm completely neurotic! Well, back to my hellish day. Oh, I forgot to mention, a fifth grader threatened to bring a gun to school. Fifth grade! And supposedly a hit list is circulating at the high school. I'm going to have quite a day. p/s I'm not changing my sig. I'm convinced the scale was off. |
I lost 2 pounds!! ;D :D:D:D:D:DYAY! I think I might actually make my June 1 goal of 190. 3 pounds in 2.5 weeks is do-able right? I am pumped!
gotta go, sorry that this is so short. Jen, Emma is ADORABLE!!!!!!! Angie |
Angie: I must have gained the 2 pounds you lost! Good for you, bad for me! How is it that you can gain 2 lbs. in one week? Life is so unfair!!
By the way, Jen: Emma is so cute! I love that photo! |
KIMMMMM... I do the same thing you do. I will gain 1-2 pounds fo absolutely no reason, then I get all upset. And even worse, sometimes I will gain 2 weeks in a row. That sucks big time. But the following week I usually will lose that weight and most times a little more. I will bet it is water weight. Even tho you may not think so!!! Also I heard stress can cause gains. Oh Kim, it will go away, I just know it. Stay OP and do your best.
Lisa... YAHOOOO on the GAP jeans!!!! BRENDA... I just knew you could do it! YAH FOR YOU! HAPPY DANCE! Keep it up!! Welcome Back Janet... ALthough you don't remember me, I remember you. I am also back after having a baby... see above post and picture. However, my little Emma is 6 months old. I only gained about 35 pounds. My doctor was very pleased, although I wish it would have been less! Glad to have you here!!! Belle... maybe you are adding muscle and that is why the scale is up! Consider it a good thing because muscle will help you lose faster!!! Lolly... your pic is very sweet. Angie... YAH on your loss! My b-day was yesterday and today (after the fact) I figured my points and only went over about 6-7. Hopefully I will have a loss on Saturday. Unfortunately I have my Pampered Chef party Friday night. She is making Banana Foster over ice cream and a 3 cheese veggie pizza! YIKES. And Margaritas.... MAN OH MAN. I only hope I can have a loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
jEN - hope you are right about that!! I really want a loss...you know, you feel you are working arelaly heard. lI even resisted a caramel machiatto today!! Wow...
Kim - don't worry, I am so sure that you can bust this 184.4 plateau. I KNOW you can do it. I am sending you good vibes to do this. Angie - congrats!! That' s a great loss girly girl! Janet - welcome back. hello to everyone else, I have to run to a meeting and get some articles out the door...so I may be signing off for the day! ADIOS! Belle |
Thank you, Jen and Belle, for the pick-me-up! Maybe I'll come back next week and lose 4 pounds! Worried that I won't get to 175 by June 16, though. Maybe I'll revamp my goal to 176.8 again my 30 lb. mark.
