Hello girls....i am up late doing laundry!!! dh informed me around 9:30 that he was out of pants! i could have sworn i did them..oh well...

glad to hear everyone had a lovely mothers day...dh and the boys took me out to a late lunch/early dinner..i believe that would be called linner?? i wanted seafood, we went to a place where my mother had worked for years and her sister still works there...she waited on us..i had the pan fried snapper, in a little lemon butter, with shredded crab meat on top..yum yum...then for my gift, i got to go pick evan out bedroom furniture?? dh said it makes me happy to shop, so that is what he let me do...i feel a little ripped off...anyway, one of the summer musicals here is the best little whorehouse in texas with anne margaret..i think i will get tickets for me and my mother and that will be our gift...

theresa - hope your sisters move goes well..you will have to let me know where she is ending up...the community theatre is putting on the wizard of oz..i am thinking about taking charlie.

viv - i am thinking good thoughts for your dad :) keep us posted on his progress, and try not to exhaust yourself while you are there.

laurie - my insurance doesn't pay for the meridia...bummer...i am only going to be on it for 6 months...this week will make 6 weeks on it, i weigh in the morning to see what i have lost..so far...13lbs....you have to follow an eating plan while taking it..the "meridia high" pretty much wears off after the first week..i lost 7lbs the first week! since then, i have been dropping 1-2lbs per week...i haven't had any side affects, except for dry mouth, but that makes me get in my water for the day...i am doing ediets with it, and so far i really like it..it helps alot with my cravings and portion control...let me know what you decide to do.

hi cindy - how is your knee? did you get back the tests from your doctor? i hope everything was okay.

hey jill - congrats on your loss...we are suppose to hit the 90's this week! my pool heated up to 88 all by itself today..summer is a coming...everything i now plant here is drought resistant and native to texas, much safer that way.

well, i will check in tomorrow for the weigh in total....charlie has a kid to kid tour in the morning at the elementary school he will be attending...and he lost another tooth last night! that makes 2 and he just turned 5!

It must multiply in the night! LOL. Laundry is on my list of things to do today. Housework in general, the place is a wreck from the reunion and I was gone yesterday taking a child with tonsolitis to the doctor. We chose to get the chewable medicine and what a mistake! he is a picky eater anyway and this medicine is triggering his gag reflex no matter how we chew it, break it into pieces to swallow or grind it into jello. I'll call the dr when they open and get the liquid version called in.
Eating was ok at the reunion we hosted-only over 1.5 points for the weekend-then I ate everything that wasn't nailed down yesterday! Back OP today, though! Better get off the computer and tackle the house-my internet time is on a diet also-LOL Leslie

Robin-we have some hot days too. My plants are taking a major beating. WOW, 2 teeth gone for Charlie already. Can you see his permanent teeth yet?

I went to an award/dinner last night with our daughter, she graduates with an Elementary and Special Ed degree from college this saturday. anyway she got recognized for having received a $300 student teacher scholarship, this money is paid directly to the student, which they should use to start up their classroom. AND DH went to an award ceremony with our son and he got principal list, graduating in the top percent of his class with HONORS and also got a 4 year scholarship. :) It was a good night here. LOL

well...i weighed this morning and was down 1 1/2 lbs...that makes 14 1/2 in 6 weeks....and i am still walking 3-4 times per week..i got in my walk last night, so only 3 more to go.

cindy - i am sure you are very proud of your children, it sounds like the two of them have turned out great. where is your son going to college? charlie has 1/2 a tooth in already, that is the one he lost in february.

hi leslie - i hate laundry! charlie likes the chew pills, and i prefer them too..easier than giving the liquid.

Must be the Monday Laundry Blues for all of us. I just finished ours. LOL

Have two kids home with coughs and throats, but they are feeling better now than when it started last night, so back to school tomorrow for sure.

Cindy - CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH YOUR KIDS!!! What a wonderful evening you had! To bad you didn't have someone at each event taping it so you could watch each other. LOL

Robin - Guess that stuff is working that your taking. Don't you just love it when your DH says they forgot their stuff. Yesterday, DH calls me and says that he forgot his shoes to workout in. So of course I stopped everything and took his shoes over to the hospital for him to have. Can't live with them, can't live without them.

Laurie - Welcome Back! I was just asking about you a couple of weeks ago when Theresa was in town. We could have made it a threesome!

Leslie - I don't want to see laundry again till next week, what about you???? LOL

Well my Pampered Chef Show finally closed this morning! YEAH!!!!! Got a grand total of (drum roll please) $521.00. Unreal! I got everything I wanted totally free. LOVE PAMPERED CHEF! :)

He wants to go into nursing, and NICHOLS STATE has the best Nursing program around. THey also have the BEST EDUCATION Dept. COngrats on losing again. Can you see the difference in your clothes yet? Have other people noticed you lost weight?

i am suppose to be paying bills and straightening up the house....

cindy - yes, a friend of mine was over the other day and the first thing she noticed was that my face was smaller...as far as my clothes, my shorts are getting baggy..probably because i have lost my butt!! i carry most of my wt up top.....did theresa forward you my pic? i figured she might, i don't have your email addy anymore..lost it when the hard drive crashed. ...i sent her a pic of my new do...i got all my hair chopped off last night, the biggest difference was having it thinned out...i have very thick curly hair...well not anymore! it's like i have someone elses hair now...at least it's not in my face and it will be much cooler for the summer.

lynn - sounds like you raked it in on the pampered chef..i have never purchased a stone from them...when i want one, i have a party and get one for free...can't beat that.

Hi Everyone!

Had a beautiful day here today! Been running around all day, from place to place.

Went to the vets first. Needed more meds for Foxy. She is having a rough time of it right now. Rachel took her for a walk about a week ago and forgot to use the harness instead of the leash and collar. So it pulled on her neck and her treacha is closing on her sometimes. The vet made a stink about me not bringing her in for a checkup and I told him with the doctors bills I have to pay right now, it just isn't in the picture to build another bill. So he finally broke down and gave the prescriptions for the meds. Hopefully this will help Foxy a little better and she can get back to normal.

Then I went to Bath and Body works and got myself some new stuff to smell good with. Having a $10 off $25 purchase that went out today did help in this purchase. LOL

Then I went to my favorite craft store. Didn't find anything crafty so I bought the newest issue of Rosie. Had a 40% off on it and can't see paying $3 for a magazine. I think that is such a rip off. Has anyone read her magazine yet???

Then I picked up the kids to find out that Rachel's High School had a second bomb threat in 3 days. They were dismissed outside of the school for 30 minutes and then let back in with shortened classes for the rest of the day. I hope they catch this kid that is doing this crap soon.

Well that's it for me today. Gonna go sit on my deck on my swing and read my magazine before the rain comes tonight.

Well my parents finally did it and I got to put the sign on the lawn. The house is on the market!~! My mother is loosing what's left of her mind and my dad can't wait to go already. So now the fun really begins. LOL

Laurie - Your in my old stomping grounds now. Used to live off Great Seneca Runway (as we affectionately called it). Yes, we need to get together again. Hopefully this time with Cindy for something fun. She is coming in the 1st of June.

Cindy - Don't know about this bomb threat thing, but would love to meet the parents and see the kid that does this kind of thing to a school of 1600 kids. It's a sad world we live in when kids think this is just a prank.

Robin - All I have to say to you is, your days are numbered! LOL LOL LOL If you think Charlie is something now, wait for the teenage years. Crack down now so you don't have to later. It's worth taking the time with your kids while they are young. I'm really seeing the benefits of it in my two. They arn't like alot of todays kids that come home to an empty house and don't have anything better to do than to get into trouble.

Well, I think I'm going to go pass out on a bed or a couch. My girlfriend and I decided we both deserved a good stiff drink after being with my Mom. My stomach was a ball of nerves and hurt when we left. Oh well, it will all be over before I know it right. LOL

It's raining again......ugh! guess I shouldn't complain cause we need it bad.

I've done better this week following ww program....not perfect, but who is?! LOL I've set 2 mini goals for myself today.....one walking the treadmill and two drinking 8 waters....how can something so easy be so stinking hard?!

Well I've got today and tomorrow and that's it for my 30 yrs...... :cry: then I'll be OLD! I think my dh has something up his sleeve but not sure what. I asked him outa the clear blue the other night who was coming to my surprise party....... I could tell by the surprised look on his face he's up to something........

Went yesterday for my annual gyn check up and had a mammogram. hoping all the results come back good. think they will, haven't been having any problems.

Morning Everyone!

Well Theresa it's yucky here to! No rain, just cold and dismal. I could live without this. LOL

Would you believe that 5 hours after the sign was up at my Moms place a Chinese couple that live 5 houses away came over and wanted to look at it for their daughter to buy. They saw the house and another sister that lives in Germantown (with you Laurie lol) called my girlfriend to find out more. They may have already sold the place. UNREAL!!! When we were on the market 8 years ago it took up a year to sell our old place. The market is hot!!!! ;)

That's the good news, then I called my mom to talk to her about it and she asked me if I could meet my brother (who is also moving at the same time to Ft. Myers, FL) this weekend so he can get a gas grill to take with him. He wants to buy it here and have it shipped there. I told her NO WAY! I said arn't there any grills to be bought in Florida. Now I'm a moving company. My van needs some servicing done to it and I haven't even had the chance to get it done. Oh well.

Gonna go have coffee with a couple of girlfriends this morning at Borders. Hopefully I can relax for a little bit with them. Don't know, feeling really uptight right now.

DH stayed home today. He is so run down. But won't give in to the fact easily. Thankfully the kids are at school. Barry is fine, Rachel is working on allergies I think.

I'm stuck here at work on this Friday. Like Lynn, we're having yucky weather. I wish it would just rain already.
My yard is already getting brown from lack of rain.

Lynn - Did you take your trip to Disney this Spring? How was it? DH and I are taking our kids at the end of August. My Father in Law turns 75 Sept. 3rd. So we'll hit the In-Laws who live in Boynton Beach, FL and then go to Disney. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I CAN'T spend all week with the In-Laws without going crazy! FIL might not make it to 76! LOL

Theresa - Do the molars come in before the front teeth fall out? I always had trouble with my teeth so I don't know what is typical.

Cindy - do you know what your schedule looks like yet while you're in the DC area? Think you can fit me and Lynn in ?

What's the status with CAB? Her baby isn't too far from being a year old already

Jessica (6 yr old) had a big weekend. She learned how to do the hoola hoop. She has already moved on to doing hops and spins as she is swinging her little hips. Maybe I'll do it with her so I can get my waistline back. :D

I've been MIA for a few days, was sick last thursday and part of friday. Had daughters college graduation on saturday, a HUGE party for her on Saturday night, a hangover on sunday, and yesterday was back to work. BUT on the BRIGHT side-----I have ONLY 8 days left> :)

Laurie-yes, I will be in DC in early June, I get there late on saturday the 2nd, for a family reunion, and I leave to come home on wednesday afternoon. I'm hoping that we can all meet on tuesday evening for lunch.

Robin-you sure don't look like you have 50 pounds to lose, are you following the health chart for weight?

Lynn-actually I would love to meet kids that do bomb threats, would love to slap the cra* out of them and their parents. Are you the realator for your mom's house? Hope you get a commission. LOL

Hey Girls, I'm back.

The operation went well, incredibly well for an 80 yo man in not such great shape. AFter the surgery we had to deal with the pain, the moaning, the hallucinations from the drugs, the crabbiness, etc.....BUT I have to say the hospital was amazing - and it was like the UN, as it is a teaching hospital and there are students and doctors there from all over the world. I thought that was cool. My fave doctor is Ethiopian - I wanted to take him home with me!

Anyway, I survivied it and have to say I did learn a few things about myself. I learned I ammuch stronger than I thought, first of all. And I also learned this profound thing: "Being a parent prepares you for being a child". Now think about that one and tell me if you get it!

The food in SF was awesome and so cheap and fun. I had lost another 4 before the trip and gained back two, but I am totally back OP on Sugarbusters and psyched to be there. I have a big birthday party to go to in July so my mini goal is 6 more lbs by then.

How is everyone doing on their plan?

YOu know, I love the SB board but there is one "chick" there who is really offending me and has done so on several occasions, with the way she speaks to people. This gal is in her 20s, unmarried, no kids, unattached, and speaks like she is the all-knowing, all-wisest person ever. Today she really upset me by being very judgemental to a new member who is going through the heartbreak of invitro. So I am emailing her my feelings, OFF the board, becasue it's a great board, but my goodness, enough already. Then she has a website about dieting where she yaps some more, and this is one of the lines from the site: I was trying to get Chris' email address off this website she has, and look what I found. I for one did not know Jews and cripples were similar. I am one step away from reporting her to the 3fc police. This woman is dangerous.


"Having been a fat chick all my life, I understand what it's like to be overweight. Yes, I realize that life is unfair for Entities of Color, cripples and Jews. But there is a special torment reserved for fat people." Now how offensive is that to Jews and "Entities of Color"? I didn't know we had the same handicaps as some poor crippled people!!!! Oy vey!

Hi All!

Just a quicky to say HI!!!

Have been extremely busy and this is the first time I've been able to sit here and type something in days. Between DH (being a S***!), Barry and Rachel (acting like little S***s!) and my parents (my mom especially, but that's a whole nother subject LOL), I feel like I've been in a maze and will never get out.
I'm just so tired!!!!!

Viv - Barry will start the new school next year. Didn't think it would be wise to move him with less than a month left. I think I made the right move. Have heard now that at least 12 teachers are transfering out and the Principal has asked for a transfer out. All because the BOE redistricted the school last year. Real shame, it was a great place when Rachel went there.

Cindy - Stand in line girlfriend! I want at those kids and parents first for sure. This is just plain rediculous. These kids have to much time on their hands and no parental stability behind them to be able to do this kind of crap.

Oh well, gotta get ready to run again. Off to pick up the little ...........

well I'm officially "over the hill" as of Sunday :cry: boo hoo!

DH gave me a surprise party Sat night. went to a friends Bat Mitzvah came home around 10 pm to a house FULL of friends and family! :D I kinda knew something was up, dh isn't very good at lying. lol I swear if you ever had an affair I know immediatly.....he's like a kid, I can read his face! but anyways....my mom and both sisters were here. got tons of great gifts, including a book on menopause! LOL DH gave me an emerald/diamond ring (that's my birthstone)--It's just beautiful! also a book on getting a salt water aquarium started.....just need to read the book and go buy it.

oh yeah, I did go to WW Sat morning and I was down 1.4 :) so that was good news.

It's flat cold here today. I've got shorts on, but I'm about ready to go put on something warm, like sweats! and it's rainy again......ick! geez, hope it doesn't SNOW! ROFL

Viv, I'm glad your dad did well with surgery. poor guy, it's very painful surgery. how'd your kids manage without you? ----- sorry to hear someone isn't being so nice on the other thread. that usually happens with very large groups. you end up with someone being a jerk. did he/she respond to your email?

Evening Everybody!

Had a rotten day! Really feeling lost and depressed. Barry went out of here yelling his head off because he bent his glasses again. Like I did it for him. Then I took a look around the house and got sick looking at the mess. Then I started thinking about DH and what a jerk he is being lately. Oh well you get the picture. Lots of tears and now the day is just about over. Really did me alot of good.

WOW THERESA!!!! I bet you had a great time at your party and what a wonderful DH you have. If mine ever gave me something like that without me asking, I think I'd faint. By the way he hasn't joined a gym as of yet. He is still going to Rehab and will be for the next I think it's about 7 weeks yet. So he gets his exercise there for now. And by the way.... KEEP THE RAIN. LOL As of right now we arn't supposed to see it until Friday. But then we have it all weekend. Just what I need. Two teens, a husband and three dogs stuck in the house.

Morning Ladies –

Dad was moved from the hospital yesterday to a rehab facility that is in his own city. Altho he had to leave the doctor I was madly in love with, I Think this will be much better for him – or at least we get a day or two reprieve until the complaining starts, LOL. It is amazing, tho – 8 days ago he was on a table having part of his lung taken out. We live in a great age, don’t we?

Our major newspaper interviewed me yesterday about Sugarbusters. She called yesterday and interviewed me for ½ hour – I made sure she knew I was not the total expert at this plan, but I wanted to clear up the Atkins-like confusion and talk about how the plan works for me and how much easier it is than people think, and how much less restrictive. The article will be in the paper next Wednesday, so after I screen it and make sure I didn’t sound like an idiot, LOL, I will post the link for their online version. BTW I asked for anonymity, I really don’t need everyone in town getting details of my gestational diabetes, struggles with WW, etc. So I hope I have helped some people by clearing a little up!

I just ate my lunch for breakfast. It looked so yummy I had to – cold cooked Kashi with rinsed black beans, onions and wishbone Italian. It was sooooo goooddddd – I have to make a list of some of these successful, quick alternatives when I’m in a hurry, which I always am.

DS #1 is still at camp in the rain. Can you imagine what his clothes/sleepingbag/towels, etc are going to smell like when he gets home? Ick! I hope they’re having fun, he is a fun-loving, outgoing kid who always makes the best of things. I miss him!

I seem to have miraculously GAINED 2 lbs since returning (now come on, it’s not the Fluff) so hopefully I can get off that junk and continue with the otherwise perfect OP. Now that I am this area’s SB posterchild, oy, the pressure!!

I had emailed that gal on SB a toned done version of my original – she removed the offensive stuff from her website, but also possibly at the suggestionof our moderator, whom I did not involve other than warning her I had sent this email just incase she got backlash. Looneygal did not acknowledge my email but that’s just fine – I notice on her post from this morning she did not wax poetic about her worldly knowledge, just stuck to the plan and exercise stuff. Hopefully I did some good and she is a little bit wiser (as you know I myself am incredibly wise, LOL)…..

Theresa – Happy Birthday, fellow May-baby! Your DH is a doll – he works a lot of hours but really does make the effort to show you he loves you. Sigh……can I borrow him for a bit? You deserve it coz you work hard too! You must be walking on air!

Lynn – re: cleaning. As someone who has lost another cleaning lady, I’m done, and I have found that it is worth the loss of aggravation NOT to have one that does a half as*ed job and then have to pay them for it. So, even with working, I clean something every day, and then on Fridays do maybe an hour total….I have the kids do 5 minutes in their rooms twice a week, harry does wall prints and Brendan does baseboards….Let me tell you, my house is cleaner than it was with a cleaning lady! Plus I save all that $$! If your kids are slobs, as so many are, I think you have to be sure NOT to let them get away with it! Tough! They live there and you are NOT their cleaning lady! The Flylady emails are a bit of a pain but really helped me see the housecleaning with a better perspective, let me know if you want more info on the link.

Cin – my friend (who is actually named Cindy, LOL) was just in New Orleans with the girls and had the best time. She is more of a party girl than me, but a vaca with the girls sounds like such fun….

Hello Everyone!

I suppose everyone is getting ready for the long weekend. I'm going to be in Patterson, NY this weekend. I don't think that is too far from Viv. I'm taking the family up to visit some friends who moved up there. I'm looking forward to getting away.

Viv - glad to hear about your Dad doing well. The last time I was a regular on this site you were following some other plan with some friends and a nutritionist. How do you like Sugarbusters? I've thought about following that. I am a definite sugar addict. Do you have the symptom that you want something sweet after you eat a meal? I do! :(

Lynn - What are you kids doing for the summer? Tell them to get a job LOL It will keep them out of your hair. :D Give me a call when you have set up plans with Cindy. (unless you have other plans)

i have been so busy with this whole end of school thing...chas still has one more day..tomorrow, and then it is all over...yeah!!!

i weighed on tuesday and managed to maintain my 14.5 loss...i am hoping to show a loss next weigh in...last week was just so hectic, it made me revert back to my bad ways.

viv - have you gotten the emails i sent you? so glad to hear your dad is doing well...i already treat my mother like a child, she does the goofiest stuff. it was hot here, then a cool front blew through...currently in the high 70's, very nice...but hafta heat the pool....nope, no colby yet..i will keep a close lookout.

theresa - your party sounds nice, and so does that ring!! dh got me an emerald and diamond ring last christmas..i love it, wear it everyday. MENOPAUSE!

cindy - losing 50 will put me at 185....when i was 185 pre-children..i could wear a size 10 in jeans...isn't that odd?? i have no hips or butt, that could be why...i am also 5'8", i think my high end wt is around 165? how is your knee? and what happened with your test results?

i am waiting on evans new bed and chest to be delivered..he is going to the big boy bed tonight...the crib is still up just in case...they said between 1 and 5, it is now 6!!!!!

i volunteered to do my hoa's newsletter...what was i thinking! so far so good, just getting information from the board is killing me..

gotta run...oven is buzzing..
