Default ....saw the Dentist today...

Hi gals ... today was Dentist Day.. I got the news that I have GUM EROSION.. talk about "it" always being something! The good news is that he can fix it, but it will cost $$$$ I have 2 appts set up for next week.
Josie.. is that true... you are reading but not posting? Sure would to see you back. Looks like a lot of interesting things have been going on it your life.
Ann.. I read the article, and it sure does sound awful, things must really be tense. Any time "racisim" is mentioned, things get really ugly. Hope your hubby got all the house problems fixed... while you went for a walk with Max. It is better to get a plumber than to let our hubbies do the job, (I am speaking from experience ) WTG on the 1 lb down.
Glenda..You sure had a good time doing all that hard work. You also made some nice memories. Sleeping on the blow up mattress sounds like a barrel of laughs too. The exercise I do helps the Fibro a lot, but dampness, air-conditioning and drafts are really hard on me. That's when the spasms and pain get bad. Beverly has to make the committment to work on her weight in her own time. You are a good friend to support her. I hope the SLEAZE never gets custody, that would be criminal.
Lily.. those rolling blackouts have to be annoying now, it must really get hot when the power is off. What kind of Stir Fry did you have, and what ideas can you pass on....Hmmmmmmm?
Geri..You were so lucky the tornado missed your house. I saw the destruction on the news. Scary!
Well Slavika.. all the gals have been working their fingers to the bone starting all the new threads. You must be soooo pleased Maria had to take time out from her packing to start today's thread.
Maria have a great visit with your daughter.

Tomorrow is the day I take Mom shopping and my Aunt is coming too.... I am surprised that they are taking another chance on me... I promise to be careful ......

Default Stir Fry's

Trudy: They are ones that I bought at Trader Joes. The packages come with everything. One was Shrimp, One was Chicken and Another was a Chiense (?) type thing. I have not tried them yet. They just looked good and Everyone in my WW class says they are really yummy. So I cant pass on nothin here as it all comes from a bag! My way of cooking! Hummmmmm Feel for your Mom and Aunt tomorrow. Try to be Nice to them! And bring them home in one peice! And no broken bones either!

Default oops, I think I just saw lighting

Hi Everybody

I had a wonderful day with my friend today, shopping and of course lunch. I treated myself to my favortie fragrance, Elizabeth Arden's "Green Tea". I have been wearing it for a couple of years now...it's very light and nice. They had a gift thingme made up with the fragrance/lotion/soap.
Well we have lighting AND thunder but no rain yet.
Glenda I can sure understand Beverly being stressed, but we all know that filling our faces is not really the answer either. I guess right now she is probably doing the best she can. I don't even want to think about how I would feel if I were in her circumstances. Just continue to be her good friend, and support her as best you can.
Josie Post us a short note and let us know how you are doing and how Cole is doing too. He must be getting big. We miss you.
Peggy Hi there, and congrats on the 1 lb. loss.
Lily I have heard "Trader Joes's" mentioned on the boards before. Is it like Costco or more like a supermarket? Sorry about your blackouts but, reading just our board, it seems we all have something to deal with ,it doesn't matter where we live.
Trudy so my friend, the old "dollies" are going to take a chance on you again are they?
Actually everybody, Trudy is just an
Her Mother is so fortunate to have her and so is the Aunt. Mind you, her Mom is also very sweet.
Maria that was very nice of you to start the new thread when you have so much to do. My poor weary fingers thank you. LOL
Night all.

G'day all

Back again, everything is ready to go, washing is up to date the only thing left to pack is my laptop but that will be easy!

Good to hear you are feeling better Trudy , I have not heard of Fibromyslgia, doesn't sound good though And now the problems with the dentist as well, boy it is fun getting more mature

Thank you all for your thoughts about Canada, does sound that it is a place one MUST visit. I have been looking on the net as well and I think the biggest problem would be where does one decide to go in Canada.

Sorry to hear about your friend Glenda I must be so hard when something so horrendous happens. I hope she will heed your advice but I guess until she realises herself what she is doing you can only be there to support her.

Well done with the weight loss Slavika I think I am doing well but no longer trust my scales. My clothes are getting looser, well a little bit any way so hopefully I am on the way.

Peggy thank you for sending the link of your local newspaper, it doesn't make for cheery reading. It was interesting to read all the letters to the editor. Who knows what the answer is, it is a very complex situation. We have some racial tension with our indigenous aboriginals but I hope it will never come to what your city is experiencing.

Gerry glad the tornado has passed with relatively little damage. We don't have tornados but cyclones though only in the tropical parts of Australia. On christmas day in 1974 virtually all of Darwin was destroyed by Cyclone Tracey. Thought I would throw that in, you might get the question in trivial persuit

As far as we know it looks like we will be going home, albeit for a short time, early July. Not too sure where we will be next, probably somewhere outside of Australia.

See you in Melbourne!!!!!
Cheers
Maria

Maria have a safe trip to Melbourne and a nice visit with your daughter. Wonder where you are going next? It's a good thing that you are so flexible and able to go along with whatever comes along. Glenda all you can do is be a good friend to Beverly. When she is ready to face herself she will. Just hope for her sake that she will listen to you and do it soon. I have some wallpaper that needs to come down. Interested in hiring out? Have fun sleeping on the blow up mattress. The hard part for me would be getting up off of it. I hope the Sleaze never gets another hand on that child. I would hope that no judge would ever let him near that child again. Trudy good luck with the gum problem. Going twice in one week doesn't sound like fun. Be careful today with the Aunt and Mom. They must have forgiven you if they are going with you again. Have fun! Lily Is Trader Joe's like a Wild Oats? We just got Wild Oats but I have never been in a Trader Joe's. Do you get Skinny Cows in flavors other than vanilla and chocolate? Have seen on some of the boards that they come in strawberry and chocolate peanut butter. Have to run and feed my neighbors fish. She is gone and I am always afraid that it will die when I am watching it. Have a nice day all, Peggy

Slavika: TJ's is more like a supermarket. They have unusal stuff in them. They buy stuff from all over. Food and Wine. And it is priced at alot lower than you can find in a supermarket. And the stuff you find there most the time you wont find in a supermarket. I buy Curry sauces there all the time that I have never seen in a store anywhere.
If you ever come to the states you need to go to one as they do have some great finds.

Maria: Wow thats still a long time to be away from home. Until July? Bet you miss it! Have a great visit with your daughter! Thats gonna be the best part!

Peggy: I dont know what a Wild Oats is. But see my post to Slavika about TJ's
On the skinny Cows, all I get is Vanilla and Chocolate. I have never seen the other ones. I would love to try them tho. I really want to try the Mint one. Mint is my all time favorite Ice Cream. They are higher in points tho. 3 I think. I would also like to try the Carmel one. They are selling really well here so I think the other flavors will start showing up. I think they start with just the vanilla & choc. to see how they sell first.

Trudy: I know you are good to your Mom and Aunt. You wouldnt hurt them on Purpose. You are an Im sure you baby both of them!

Default From Lizziepie on the other thread Hope its ok I moved it here.

Another lovely Florida day

But we need the rain!
Geri: So glad the tornado missed you and yours. That is a worry here in Florida too.

Glenda: Sorry about your friend, but sometimes that sort of constant trial makes one
just sort of give up. Sounds like you are good for her, since everyone needs a good
friend to tell you what is real and to get on with life. Her kids need her more than
ever, especially when they are all getting put through the 'wringer' too, knowing that
their father is a sleaze.

Lily: We experienced the rolling blackouts once here, when there was such cold and
freezes and people had Christmas lights plus all the heat necessary. But that was
just a short time, notthe way you folks are having to deal with it. It never ceases to
amaze me what 'greed' can do.

Peggy: I guess it is so hard for members of the Black population to not shout
discrimination, at imagined and/or real problems. It is hard for me to understand how
they riot and actually do damage to their own people, store owners, etc. And yet I
know I would not like to be judged only on the color of my hair. I want to be judged
for who I am.I think we have raised a generation of people who don't seem to be
able to accept the consequences of their actions. I better get off my soap box!

Even washing with cold water in a new machine has got to be o.k. Just think of all
the electricity you are saving. Maybe it will find its way to California. LOL Hope you
found a plumber.

Hi Slavika, Trudy, Maria, Karen

Default ....a fun day

Hi Everybody I went grocery shopping this morning then picked up the Princess from school for her Baba Day. We came home and had lunch, played a little then went to Costco with Trudy and DH. When we got back I had a new video for her, so she was very happy. We also bought some ice cream treats and she enjoyed one of those, and I had one of my low fat ones. My Son did well in getting his little girl dressed for school. Her hair is long and he put it into two ponytails for her. She told me, her Dad could not find two red and gold ponytail holders for her hair, that was why she had one that was JUST red and one that was red and gold. She said, she told her Dad that was ok, at least they were both red.
Lily next time I am across the line I will look for a Trader Joes. Hi to everybody else and have a good day tomorrow.

Default ...everyone got home safely today..

I didn't have a single "incident" today, my ladies came home all intact. Wheeeeew! Slavika didn't tell you that the Princess had a gift for me. She gave me a beautiful multi-strand pink pearl bracelet, strung on very practical elastic. It looked gorgeous, I still have it on.
Also, my Grand-dog sent me a "Mother's Day Card"...it is so cute. My DD printed out a really nice verse and inside pasted a picture of Jessica that she scaned on the inside. It's a keeper.
Lily.. I had heard of Trader Joe's, but I just assumed it was a restaurant. Will have to check that out too. You like the same kind of ice cream I do, lately I have been eating frozen yogurt because of the points. Wish we could get Skinny Cows.
Maria if your clothes are looser, you must be losing weight.
Peggy.. fish-sitting? You had better take good care of them, my daughter had fish when she was little and we found out that you can give them too much food too ~ the hard way. She sure when they died.

Hi Ann..well time for me to think about bed...see you all tomorrow... Goodnight...

Good Morning, Glad you made it without incident, Trudy. Sounds like you all had a fun day. How sweet of the Princess to give you a pearl bracelet. I think those are sometimes more valuable than the real thing. I still have a box of jewelry "treasures" that my oldest made for me when he was in the hospital when he was young. The neighbors fish survived, thank goodness. Lily Wild Oats is a large health food organic type store. They sell things in bulk like peanut butter and honey and grains. They have produce, cheeses, salad bar, bakery, deli, wine etc. They are a little pricey. I didn't know that Skinny Cows came in mint. That is also one of my favorites. Tomorrow I am going on an all day bus trip to Dresden, Ohio. It is a trip tour to the Longaberger Basket Co. I have been there once a long time ago. Their office building is built likea basket. They have a new place called the Homestead. We get breakfast in a small berry basket which we get to keep. I like the baskets but they are too expensive. I used to teach basket weaving so I will be interested to see them at work. I think that they have a web site. www.Longaberger.com. Somewhere in there you can see the basket building. "Talk" to you Sunday, Peggy

Good morning all, hope you have a great weekend.

Maria, we cannot keep up with you. Do you ever just get homesick? I don't think I would like all that traveling after a while. The first couple of weeks would be okay, but then I would want to stretch out in my own bed with the newspaper and my favorite coffee cup.

Trudy, congrats on your new "jewelry". Know you will enjoy it.

Peggy, haven't been to that site to read the inside info, but will go there tonight. Thanks for posting it.

Slavika, glad your fingers are getting such a long rest. But, without the extra exercise your ring size is liable to increase

Anybody heard from Margot lately?

We get Skinny Cows in mint (delicious) and peanut butter chocolate (a disappointment). Costco carries choc and vanilla. Tom Thumb has the others.

I think I gave my husband's summer shorts away. Honest---we can't find them. We took a whole bunch of stuff to Mission Arlington a while back and I think they were included by mistake. Oops! Now I have to go buy him new shorts. You can bet they will be permanent press (which a lot of the old ones weren't---you don't suppose I had a Freudian slip do you?). I guess he is worth it.

Got to get the summer clothes washed and ironed. Put 6 dozen ears of corn in the freezer Wednesday. 14 were on the cob but the rest was cut off (made 18 bags of 1& 1/2 cups a bag). I have the battle scars to prove it. Cutting the kernels off almost 5 dozen ears is a job. But I can't pass up 8ears/$1 when I was paying $.69 an ear this winter. I like corn too much to give it up for the winter. This winter I will have all I want.

Slavika: LOL I love the stories abiut the Princess. She sounds so adorable. And I bet she is.

Trudy: Glad you got them home ok with no Incidents! You just must of just had a "One of those days" last week!
Your braclet you got from the Princess sounds beautiful! And a Cute Card That DD made you to! Both will be treasures to keep forever!

Peggy: Longaberger Basket Co! How fun! I have one of there baskets and you are right they are expensive. Went to a party once and bought the cheapest I could find. But I really do love the basket. They are great. Sounds like a really fun trip to go on. Wild Oats sounds kinda like TJ's They have Organgic food to. They have a variety of everything.

Geri: No I havent heard from Margot. She has been having trouble posting and we cant figure it out. But I havent gotten an email from her either. She ususally sends one for me to post. OH OH.. Gave DH shorts away? LOL. Hes worth some new ones anyways. Hum makes me think I should do this with some of DH shirts and then go buy some that dont need Ironing. Hummmmmmmmmmmm

Well best get to work Im so behind.

Default ...its been such a nice day...

Just a beautiful day today, nice temp., hardly any wind... perfect. The lawns are getting so green, and my tulips are in bloom.
Tonight we are going to the Casino, you can bet I'll let you know if we win a small fortune. Do you gals remember the "Ink Spots"? They are performing tonight. I didn't even know that they were still singing.
Peggy .. you must be quite a "Crafty Person". You certainly have a lot of interests. Have fun on the trip. I will have to look up the site to see what else I am missing out on.
Geri.. You had better 'fess up... you got rid of the shorts because they required too much upkeep. .. it was the wise thing to do.
Hi Lily, Ann, Maria & Slavika.. what have you all been up to today? ...hope I didn't miss anyone out. I wonder how Margot is doing too, no doubt she is right OP.

Bye, bye for now

Default How time flies!

Hi All: Just a quickie since I need to go to bed.
Geri: By all means permanent press. I wouldn't have any thing else. I HATE to iron.
Peggy: Did you ever make baskets of pine needles?
Lily: What is Skinny Cow? don't think we have it here. I am assuming it is some sort of treat. We get a stir-fry here brand name Chefs' Choice. Shrimp and beef and shrimp with linguine. All low points and quick to fix.
Maria: Are you going to write a travelogue? Today we enjoyed watching a program all about Australia. On the travel channel. Very interesting.
Talk to everyone tomorrow. Ann
