TGIF

Morning All! :)

I've been majorly stressing out (and eating) over bathroom selections for our up coming remodel job. thank heavens the only thing left is deciding the facet for the sink.......I don't think I could handle looking at another floor tile, counter top or paint chip!

Today I've got myself back on track. I've had a 3 pt breakfast and will work on getting all 8 waters in today.

my "5" year old woke up with a sore throat/nausea/temp this morning......we're heading out to the ped soon for a strep culture......geez!

Viv, OMG! a bordello! lol don't get yourself into trouble now! ROFL did you check to see if the hosp has a place for you to stay. sometimes they've got a wing or floor just for out of town family. have they set a surgery date?

My sister took a couple of pics of Lynn and me.......hafta finish up that roll of film. I'm terrible about that. we had out new digital camera with us, but dh and son took it sight seeing that day......so I bought a disposable one.

Robin, don't ya just love when the docs office says.....oh we have an opening "NEXT YEAR" ...... could be dead by then! duh -----haven't heard from my sister since I gave her your email addy.....I'll email her today.

Lynn, I completly understand.....I'd rather go to Florida than here too! lol ------ what games do you like to play on line.......did you ever get the Sims expansion pack "livin' large" .....I love the "vibrate bed" ROFL I'm up to 4 kids in my family......should be having #5 soon!

Hi Farmbabe and Ellie and CAB and Linn  hope all is well with you :)

see ya, Theresa

Bonz80 05-04-2001 11:01 AM

Good Morning,

WHERE are all the SURVIVOR fans?????? I was surprise that Colby choose Tina instead of Keith. THat decision costed him a million dollars. Wonder how he is handling that this morning?

Theresa-thanks for getting us started this morning, the old thread was taking awhile to load. Oh, and thanks for sending all the soap, shampoos and lotion for our MISSION TRIP. The girls in the neighborhood will love this.

Viv-does your dad have a surgery date yet? when are you leaving. You're staying at an old Bordello?!?!?!!? If those walls could talk. LOL I already have 3 trips planned this summer---and working on my 4th. LOL Going to DC June 2nd for a family reunion, will be there a few days. then on to Nicaguara in Mid July for our mission trip, then in Early August, I'm flying to Theresa, got my ticket yesterday. Still need to find time for a trip to Tennessee and Georgia, need to visit my sister and brother.

Lynn-WOW!!!! New "OLD" furniture! You lucky thing!!!! I would love to have all the antiques that we started out with when DH and I were first married and living DH grandfathers house. I could KICK myself for not keeping any of it. :( Your plans to see your parents, ESPECIALLY since you still have passes for the water park sounds reasonable. How long of a drive is it? and how often will you be traveling to florida to visit your mom? How close are they to Disney?

Robin-I sure miss my pool at my other house. If there is one thing I would change about moving, it would be to have been able to carry my pool to my new house.

I weighed in last night and gained 2 pounds, was really upset about it first, but I'm ok and determined to keep fighting this battle of staying at goal. :)

thats it for me

cindy

farmbabe 05-04-2001 01:25 PM

Well, it's all over with. I'm glad that Tina won but I DO agree with you, Cindy that Colby gave it away. I'm sure he'll make lots of money now.
So, we don't have to wait until January for the next one?

Viv - a bordello  Have a good weekend and have a Happy Birthday tomorrow!
Yes, we'd love to hear how CAB is doing!?

Theresa - well, jeez! You all have had enough with the sore throat thing! Open up those windows! I hope the 5 year old gets over it soon.(sorry forget girl/boy :?: )
I'm sure you ARE sick of the remodelling thing but it'll be worth it!

Robin - you are doing so well with your weight loss; keep it up:)
Our health system is so bad here right now. I have decided I will NOT retire in this province.(long ways to go for that but I'm sure thinking already)

Hi Lynn and Cindy.....Ellie, it's Friday, yoo hoo:)

I'll be back later. I've GOT to paint and get a stew going for dh for supper.

Amato 05-04-2001 02:12 PM

ugh! positive on the strep :( ......where's the chocolate! ....just kidding. NOT!

Cindy, you're welcome on the soaps......I know the maids at the hotel think I'm such a "hillbilly" for snatching up everything they put out lol --- sorry you're up some at WW, I'm sure it's just fluid from your knees hurting AND I think during the summer people retain a little more water anyways.

Farmbabe, it's way too HOT to open windows here. but I've got the clorox clean up going and the lysol! :) house smells like a hosp! LOL

doing better on program......I'm at 10 points for the day. hafta weigh in tomorrow. I'm expecting a gain----after being in DC and stressing over selections.......well that's my excuse :o

take care, Theresa

ps/I love antiques too!

Zippy 05-04-2001 04:00 PM

Hi Everybody!

Sorry I didn't get here sooner today, but I've been cleaning up after the 3 slobs that live in this place with me so that I can have my friends over tonight for a Pampered Chef Party. One of my lunch buddies doesn't like to have parties, but loves to buy PC. So I said I would throw the party if she promised to come. So far so good. LOL

Theresa - STREP AGAIN!!! OUCH! Hope Stephanie is feeling better real soon. Thanks for understanding about the trip. I still have to wait until they buy a place, but my other girlfriend (the realtor) is putting the house up tomorrow. It will sell almost immediately. Probably for more than they ask for it. They are going down on June 3rd to buy a place. So I figure that by August they should be settled enough that we can drive down and see them for a few days.

Cindy - It's a 12 hour straight drive. If Les and I split the driving I think we can do it straight through. If not, we'll stop for one night. Still have to see if he will have leave to do it then. As for how often, don't know. We'll have to see how the money runs and how things go between us. I hope this actually makes our relationship better. It can't get any worse.

Viv - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAVE A BALL IN THE BIG APPLE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!

Hi everyone else. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Later,
Lynn

Amato 05-05-2001 07:13 AM

Morning!

hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Happy Birthday Viv! :)

Lynn, how was the party? what did you buy? I find that I love the stuff they sell, buy it, use it a few times, then it get put in a drawer........ any one out there use the clay cooker thing a lot? only used mine once --- the chicken turned out gross....... maybe I just didn't do it right ?? looking for new recipes.

I'm out the door, it's weigh in day.....really dreading it. done a lotta damage this week. :(

Theresa

Bonz80 05-05-2001 07:28 AM

GOOD MORNING,

Viv-HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Hope you are able to enjoy your day.

Lynn-DH and I use to drive long trips, but now that we are older, ( ;) ) we get tired quicker, and we don't trust each others driving, so anything more than 12 hours we do in two days. LOL

Farmbabe-the new survivor will be taped in the fall, and I guess it will air next January. Have you ever seen BIG BROTHER? THat was pretty decent and ALOT more civilized too. LOL

Theresa-thats OK, let the maids think you are a hillbilly, as long as you got the soaps for the people of Nicaguara. LOL Good luck at weigh in this morning.

I went to the doctor yesterday for a problem with my left knee, and he told me several things wrong, plus he ran some blood work to check for lupus and something else, AND he told me NOT to walk for the next two weeks. THIS IS KILLING ME! I'm not sure that I will be able to hold off walking for that long. THis morning, my lower back is hurting, it feels like I have a metal bar going across the lower part. :( Getting old is not for sissys LOL

cindy

Robin2 05-05-2001 08:37 PM

OOPS.....

VIV, DID I MISS YOUR BIRTHDAY???
SO SORRY, I WAS JUST SKIMMING THROUGH OUR THREAD AND NOTICED...I HAVE BEEN BUSY THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS AND HAVEN'T BEEN ON...

EVAN IS CRYING...STILL NO TIME TO POST..AARRGGHH...WILL TRY LATER...BYE

Bonz80 05-06-2001 08:46 AM

Good Morning,

whats new with everyone??????

Talk to me. :)

cindy

Zippy 05-06-2001 10:32 AM

HI!

Ok Cindy, I'll talk. LOL

Went down to my parents house yesterday with my girlfriend/their realtor and brought back a van full of goodies. I can feel every bone in my body screaming right now!!! LOL

I now have my grandmothers rocker foot singer sewing machine in the original cabinet. This sewing machine has to be close to 100 years old. It weighs a ton. But I'm going to clean up and refinish the case it's in and put it in my foyer as a show piece. I have wanted it for so long. It's still in perfect working order to.

I'm also getting my grandmothers china and tons of furniture. We decided that I need to get some movers to move it all. Just to much for me to handle and DH can't do any lifting, as if I would let him for sure.

My parents are going to FL on June 4th and as soon as they have a place then their place will be put on the market. They will sell it almost immediately. They are right on DC's metro line in MD. Location, location, location!

Theresa - How's Stephanie? Meds working. I hope so. Weather is going to be to beautiful to spend it inside.

Robin - You haven't gotten back yet. Is Evan ok? Take care.

Cindy - When you figure out your plans of where your going to be and when in my neck of the woods, YELL!!!! Maybe you can swing by the house, or we can get together for a bite to eat somewhere and just gab!! How's things going for your daughter? Is she teaching yet?

Hi everyone else, enjoy your weekend.

Well off and running to Walmart. Need potting soil to plant some tomato plants. Can't wait to have a home grown. Store bought, yucky!!!!

Later,
Lynn

P.S. Pampered Chef Party went great!!!! Sold over $400 worth. I've decided it's the parties that I do to help someone else out that sell the best! BYE

Robin2 05-06-2001 09:24 PM

i made it back!!

evan was fine, just screaming to hear the noise i guess!

viv - hope your bday was good, a trip to the city sounds nice, how was the play? good for you on maintaining.

theresa - let me know about your sis, hope i didn't scare her :) strep, yuck..my boys haven't been sick for a long time...(knock on wood) do you have any of the pampered chef cookbooks? i have 2 of the stone cookbooks and i have the clay cooker and have been pleased with what i have cooked in it so far...lemme know if you want me to look up some recipes for you to use with it. i have the turny thing from pc, so that i can keep all my gadgets in it on the counter..i like it alot too...oh, what did you pick for the bathroom?

cindy - lupus? my goodness cindy, i sure hope he turns out to be wrong...let us know...sorry about your knee, i would say that i would try to walk for you, but you know how slow i am :)
my friends husband is leaving for lima, peru on saturday with the church for a week..a little scary considering what just happened over there with that woman and baby...be careful! enjoy all your trips this summer, sounds like fun..have you been to theresa's yet? or has she only visited you?

i weigh tomorrow....i have been pretty good, and it is that tom, blah, and i ate chinese for dinner!! i need to go drink alot of water before bed to get some of this out of me...i am just hoping to be the same and next week shoot for a big loss!!

i think that's it, we have been having horrible storms here the last couple of days, one just left us....i better go..

hi jill!!

bye all..robin

Amato 05-07-2001 01:51 PM

Hi Robin, haven't heard much from my sister. she was out of town over the weekend and the last email she sent, she said your info was helpful.....and she's very busy today.......well the nerve! she blew me off! LOL ------ how'd your weigh in go? --- thanks for the offer for recipes......tell me the names of the books.....maybe I'll just buy them!

I"m doing better with my choices the last few days. It's been a real struggle getting back in the swing of things. I gained 1.8 Sat at WW :( hopefully it'll come off next weigh in.

Cindy, OMG! lupus---I think that's the test of choice these days.....i can't tell you how many people I know being tested for that! ------- and my heart is bleeding over the "not being able to walk" you poor poor dear! ROFL wish my doc would tell me that!

 to everyone! Theresa

farmbabe 05-07-2001 09:42 PM

Hey there!
dh phoned me from the tractor today when he was seeding. He had a moose standing right beside him! Cool, huh!?

I've had a couple of 31 and 32 pt. days; jeez. Pms too; I could just eat and eat. I'm scared to weigh in this week! YIKES:(

Theresa - jeez, I'm quite envious of your yardwork! I love doing all that kind of stuff and cannot wait!

Cindy- I really hope things get better soon with your knee.

Robin - how did y ou do weighing in? I've heard about Texas getting storms!

Lynn - wow, you got some good stuff!(the antiques) Lucky you!
I love Pampered chef stuff too. Haven't been to a party for a long time, though.

I just heard that a 5 year old girl has gone missing in Alberta. jeez

Have a good evening:)

Zippy 05-08-2001 08:46 AM

Morning Everyone!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday. What a zooey day!

Went looking for pots, potting soil and mulch and everyone is sold out! Unreal. They all said they would have more by Friday for the "biggest weekend sale of plants of the year". Wonder why that would be???? LOL LOL LOL

Jill - A MOOSE huh? LOL All I get are these fricken bunnies that eat all my plants. I'll take the moose.

Cindy - Any word from the doctor on your test results yet? Sitting still for you has to be really rough. Sorry.

Theresa - Did you get all your plants in the ground? All I want is one pot! I busted one empting the dirt out of it to fill the holes left from the swing set. Thought I would put new potting soil in the planters and put my tomato plants on our deck this summer. Can't wait to get it done now.

Where is Linn these days???? Haven't seen her post in a while.

Viv is still alive and kicking. LOL I can attest to it since I have seen and chatted with her on IM. Just really busy. I'll remind her to try and post.

Well last day of bowling for this season. We are having a luncheon and get our prize money. Can't wait to see if we are at least out of last place??? LOL

Have a great day. Talk to you all later. Hi to anyone I missed. (CAB, Ellie)

Lynn

Bonz80 05-08-2001 10:02 AM

Good Morning,

I was MIA yesterday due to going to a funeral.

Lynn-I have my grandmothers singer foot pedal sewing machine too, but the cabinet was in pitiful shape, so Rick took the cabinet off, and made a table top for the base. Looks nice. WHen are the movers bringing the stuff to your house. :) I'll have to check my schedule while I am in DC. I have alot to do in a short period of time. I'm hoping that we can meet for a quick lunch. Will let you know soon. Michelle graduates on May 19th and she signed on with the same school that she did her student teaching with.

Theresa-are you all done planting? I bet its pretty now.

RObin-I got my ticket the other day for THeresa, going there on August 1st. SHe was here at Mardi gras time, and 2 summers ago we met at Kings Island.

Farmbabe-a Moose! WOW!!!!! My daughter would love to live on a farm.

My knees are still hurting, and today is day 5 with no walking. I really miss walking.

linn 05-09-2001 09:48 AM

Hi everyone--
It's been crazy around here. we have the book fair and the plant sale at school on the same days.
My 2 oldest got a call from school. They told a girl her screen name was stupid in an e-mail. The girl called our last name stupid and refered to my daughter as "your stupid older sister." the mother didn't tell the school that part. this is ridiculous. the kids started using that word more than they should because I called the puppy a "stupid dog" when she pee-ed in the house when we were training her. If you dropped a brick on my foot, I'd say "shoot " or "darn" -- DH is capable of a more expanded vocabulary, but not me.
I immediately called the mother & told her she should have come with me directly. Getting the school involved for something so minor is silly --- well, stupid. LOL My kids have a huge respect for school authority and I'd like to keep it that way. Anyone else ever had ridiculous runins w/school?

farmbabe 05-09-2001 12:17 PM

We have the odd garter snake at our school(outside). When my oldest son was about 10, he spit on one and the principal gave him #*!@ for that!

She told me "I can't believe he'd spit on a poor snake".
Gimme a break!!

Zippy 05-09-2001 04:47 PM

Hi Guys!

I can give you one. This just happened a few weeks ago. A black boy (who happens to be a twin) decided to be dumb and go up and down the back of a lunch table and punch people in the back. The first time he did it the VP saw him and sat him down. The second time he did it Barry turned around and called him a monkey. He had been told at home that he could call his sister a "fudge monkey" being a stupid phrase, instead of cussing at her. I got a call to come to school. Barry got suspended for 1 day because the kids mother, who didn't have the time to even come to school, took it as a racial slurr. Barry spent three house in a conference room crying his eyes out because he didn't even know or understand what he had done and no one explained it to him. So now I'm in the process or changing him back to his original middle school, you all remember last summer getting him changed because of his headaches. Well since his migraines seem to be concurred by the meds, I hope sending him to his home school will make things a little better for him. I HATE MIDDLE SCHOOL YEARS!!!!!!

Anyway, now that I've said all that (LOL) how is everyone today. Not many posts. I went to the grocery stores this morning and out to lunch with girlfriends this afternoon. Got my tomato plans potted and mulch down. I'd say I've had a successful day! LOL I decided to invite two of my best friends and their families over for potluck dinner for Mothers Day. Actually we made out the menu while at lunch and everything sounds delicious. Anyone else doing anything special???

Finished up the bowling league for this season yesterday. My team ended up in 7th out of 8. Oh well LOL. We still won $91 apeace. Not bad! So I went out and bought my mothers day present. I bought a seated swing with a canapy for my deck. I had to put it in layaway because I had the kids with me when I purchased it, but I'll go get it tomorrow and DH says he will put it together for Sunday. Only have to get out and clean down the deck before I can let him do that. OH WELL! LOL

Hope you all had a great day.

Later,
Lynn

Robin2 05-10-2001 12:48 AM

howdy...

thought i would say hi real quick before bed...

i have no idea what to get my mother for mothers day....i think she is mad that i am not coming to see her..i am a mother too, and i don't want to spend my day driving 3 hrs to the lake...i know that sounds a little selfish, but i am tired and really want my day. i go and meet her at work for lunch quite often, so it's not like i never see her, and i talk to her every day on the phone...oh well....

went to the dr. today for my meridia check up...he was very pleased that i am doing so well, my blood pressure is great along with everything else. he told me that meridia has been around for a few years (i didn't know that) and that most patients who have taken it sustained their weight loss since meridia is strictly an appetite suppressant and not a "speed" type diet pill. we decided that i will probably only be on it for 6 months total...from there, we both agreed that i should be able to handle it on my own...some women take a lower dose of it for maintenance..i think that would be a little to much.

i got my walk in this evening...i have a friend who lives in another sub-division, and walks this way ...she walks for 2 hrs!! anyway, she stopped and got me and we walked my neighborhood for about 45 minutes and then i left her to make a run for the bathroom.

linn, lynn, and jill - aaaaahhhh....charlie starts school in the fall!!!! i don't know how graceful i will be when stupid things like this happen to him.....it probably wouldn't look good if i was caught beating up the principal in the parking lot :) ...wish me luck ladies.

have a good day tomorrow girls..i will try to check in.

bye.robin

Zippy 05-10-2001 09:41 AM

Good Morning!!!!

I just went to Walmart and picked up my Mothers Day Present to myself. It's now sitting in the family room ready for 2 kids and hubby to assemble. LOL

Also got something new in the plants there. They had an 8" terra cotta planter with all kinds of lettuce growing in it. It has about 4 different kinds and you just keep eating and growing for as long as you can! I loved it, so now I have one to go along with the tomato plants and a cuke plant that Barry wanted. Salad all summer!

Robin - I have had those same thoughts (clobber the principal in the parking lot) but for the VP at Barry's school. I hate the statement "I have to sit on my hands". It stinks!

Have a great day ladies!! Hope to see some more posts next time I get here.

Later,
Lynn

Introduction

I tried posting this before and only got it on the main pages. Thanks, Robin for alerting me that I needed to use the reply button. The topic review feature at the bottom is pretty handy.
Zippy, my 13 yo has developed serious migraines recently. He started with the mild ones controlled with OTC meds last summer, but this spring had one major attack lasting 3 days, one lasting 2 days and one lasting one day. We are in the trial and error phase of trying meds. Nobody in the family but my DH's mother (deceased) has had them so I feel like I'm kind of stumbling around clueless figuring out meds, triggers, etc.
Now for my intro:
Hi Ladies, I was crusing the internet the other night looking at my long neglected WW sites, clicked on this thread and found fellow WW moms. I'm 42, mom of 5 (ages 2-13) and weigh 147. The WW range for my height (5'5") is 120-144 and for most of my adult years I weighed 134-139. I touched on 139 for a few glorious seconds after the last child was born, turned 40, quit work to be a SAHM and then started working my way up the scale. I want to nip this upward spiral in the bud, get back down to the mid 130's and get on a healthy life time eating plan. I joined WW for 8 weeks last fall, lost 6 pounds, then came the holidays, basketball season for my boys, just life in general and quit going to WW. Well, guess what, the weight and all my old eating habits are back! Today was my first day back OP. I still haven't decided if I'm going to formally rejoin WW or not. I like to workout so the exercise part of WW isn't a problem for me. My biggest challenge coming up is hosting a family reunion this weekend. I've got some ideas on how to handle the menu-more on that later.
I also can't stand the middle school years-my oldest has never been in trouble before this year and now it's always something. Leslie

Now for the reunion:turns out it's just going to be my Dh's 2 older brothers after all and everybody's into eating healthily so I think the menu will be Chicken Parmesean (half a breast for me), homemade applesause, and leafy salad w\lots of zero points veggies. I will have to save points for wine and a piece of lemon mereigne (sp?) pie-can't help it-I've had a yen for a month for lemon pie. Off now to workout and plan today and tomorrow's points. Leslie

Hi Everyone!

WHERE IS EVERYONE????? Ok, you all split town for Mothers Day Weekend right??? LOL LOL LOL (Don't some of us wish lol)

Leslie, welcome!!!! :) Anyone who can make it through the Middle School years is a definite friend of mine. LOL I understand and as you saw in my earlier post, my son who is an Honors student and never in trouble was this year. As for the migraines, where are you from??? I'm in Maryland and the best thing I did was to go to Johns Hopkins for help. My brother is the one who also suffers with the migraines. But, you won't find any help from going into past family history. Work from where you are with your son. My sons doctors want him on Imitrex and it turns out that my insurance won't give it to him because it hasn't been tested on anyone under the age of 18, so they have been giving me samples. But the thing we found really works is Barry sees a phychiatrist for med counseling and he put him on Celexa. The celexa works with the seratonen in the brain and is a mood stabilizer. Helps to keep him up and decreases his migrains down dramatically. Any other help I can give you, please feel free to ask.

Went over to the other Middle School this morning with Barry and he loved it. It is all one level, so he won't have to run stairs. Which is a plus. I also talked to the Principal, who I knew from when Rachel was in Middle School. Great Guy! He will work with me any way he needs for Barry for sure. So hopefully this will help Barry alot to.

Went to Rachels school this morning to. They have a greenhouse and all the plants are so cheap! Three trays of 6 plants for $2. Got all the things I wanted to put in the garden, plus some pepper plants! Salads galore in this house this summer.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and fantastic Mothers Day!!!!

Later,
Lynn

Bonz80 05-11-2001 01:24 PM

Howdy,

Lynn-you change Barrys school this late in the year? Kids get suspended for all sorts of things, epecially if its racial or to do with violence.

Robin-nice going on losing another 2 pounds. and good luck at school with CHarlie. ITs difficult to keep ones mouth shut at times, but sometimes its the best thing to do, FOR THE KIDS sake.

Leslie=- Welcome, seems like you don't have much to lose to get to goal. :) Looks like you have a good plan for the family reunion, and I see that you plan your meals in advance. You should do VERY WELL losing. :)

Linn-that was pretty STUPID of that mother to call the school on your daughter. PARENTS!!!

Farmbabe-I would spit on a snake too, if I weren't so afraid of em. LOL

Theresa-any school story to top these?

cindy

LeslieM 05-11-2001 07:27 PM

Lynn-Migraines

Lynn, I have heard about Imetrix from other migraine sufferers (never knew it was so prevelant till my son started having them) and I was going to ask the dr about it at the next visit. Interesting bit of info that it's not been tested on under 18yo's-maybe that's why the doctor didn't prescribe it. We started a 50 mg dose of Zoloft (antidepressant for the seratonin levels) 3/27 and he has had one mild migraine since and one episode of the aura's. I've been giving Maxalt MLT those last 2 times and it seems to have headed off the migraines or reduced their duration in combination with the Zoloft. The other meds he tried during the 2 and 3 day duration migraine attacks were Zomig and Midrin. They might have worked had I given them right away, but I was still trying to give OTC Excedrin Migraine first, with the goal of giving him the least medication possible. Those happened before we started the Zoloft. The only pattern I've noticed is the big attacks have occurred on Sun evening or Mon morning (the sleep disturbance trigger as he sleeps in late on weekends?) and have occurred 3 weeks apart exactly. Our next 3 week anniversary is May 21. We are closest to St. Louis if we have to consult in a major medical center. My son is also an honors student. I think he is having trouble at school because it is so important at his age to fit in and be like everyone else. I wouldn't be a 7th or 8th grade teacher for the world!

Zippy 05-11-2001 07:55 PM

Leslie,

Zomig is another one just like Imitrex. They are all the same thing, just different names. Barry's neurologist says that his can be triggered from being a perfectionist. He strives to be his best. With the celexa it lets him relax enough not to push his migraines to come when he is striving. The other thing I've found is that any of the drugs (zomig, Imitrex) take 2 hours once they have been taken to work. So Barry has to come home from school when he gets a migraine, because otherwise the noise, light ect. just makes it worse. I have also found that when Barry changes how late he stays up and still gets up at his normal time that that can be a trigger for him to. I feel for you, know exactly what you are going through. All you can do is keep working at it with trial and error until you find what the best course of action is for your son.

Good Luck! and please feel free to keep the conversation going. Between the two of us maybe we can figure out what the doctors can't.

Lynn

Hi there:)

Welcome, Leslie and good luck getting to goal:)

I lost .5 this week. I'll take it. It wasn't a 'balanced' week; I was so busy. I did track, though.

It's great to hear about everybody buying plants etc.! We are JUST getting into the season here but you don't dare plant anything yet.(freezes at night yet)

I love picking up friends and walking through greenhouses; it's so fun!
I have a new idea. I want to build a brick planter in the front of the house. Now, after hauling all those rocks for the pond, I wonder if dh will 'take off' when I mention the brick idea!! LOL

We will get the liner for the pond as soon as things slow down. I wish I had it now because it's suppose to be hot here tomorrow and that is a good time to put it in; darn it!:(

I have such a headache today. Not a nasty migraine, though like you've been talking about. That must be awful.
 everybody

Hi Guys...
Just wanted to post a quick hello - I'm off to CA tomoro adn the surgery is scheduled for Wedsnesday. I can't wait to come home and get back OP (Havne't gained any, so that's cool!) and start going forward. The surgery WILL be successful and everything is going to be great!

Hugs to all of you and I will try to post from CA if we can figure out my mom's laptop, LOL...

Hi Guys!

I had a wonderful mothers day weekend....hoping you all did too! although my 5 yr old informed me mothers day was "boring" lol she couldn't understand why I got to do what I wanted and not what she wanted to do.! lol

I got lots of very pretty cards, a very pretty bouquet for flowers, garden bench for the backyard, and dh and 6th grader planted my 10 flats of geraniums out front for me. :) it's going to look spetacular this summer! :D

Went to WW Sat morning.. I'm +1, didn't surprise me.....I was pretty stressed last week (don't really know why?!) didn't do very well following program......hopefully this week will be better. so far so good! lol

Sat afternoon, we took the kids to see Peter Pan. The high school put it on as a muscical......they did an excellent job I might add......I was very impressed. costumes/lighting and orchestra were outstanding.....Peter/Wendy/John and Michael even flew!!!!

Viv, thanks for posting. you're right......everything is going to be fine! keep up the positive attitude AND keep us posted ..... ok! -------- how are the kids handling this? have you told them much?

Oh Jill, I love this time of year. our tomatoes already have blooms! :D they are about 12 inches high.....the peppers and green beans are looking good too.. we've already been able to harvest some lettuce! oh it's good!

Linn, don't EVEN get me started on school stories! or worse BUS stories!

Hi Lelsie, very nice to meet you! :) that's very smart of you to "nip it in the bud" wish I'd have done that.....sigh. I've got 3 kids, boy 12, girl 5 and boy 3 1/2. the big 40 is just around the corner for me  next Sunday to be exact! I'm just curious, what part of the country do you live in? I'm in Cincinnati, originally from St. Louis.

Lynn, glad to hear Barry is switching schools. what a jerk of a principal! ----- you're mothers day present sounds great! I love garden fresh veggies :) I got a garden bench for mothers day this year!

Robin, know what I tell my mom.......I tell her to come see me! lol it's a heck of a lot easier for her to come here than me packing up 3 kids to go to St. louis......heck I even tell her I'll buy her a plane ticket! lol ---- I'm glad to hear your check up went well. that's good news. ---- looks like my sister will be moving down in the next few weeks. her boyfriend is down there this week scouting out places to live. he started his new job today. at the end of the month they are going to Ireland for 10 days.....then she'll be moving. I'm glad--- she's moving, I prefer "living" in southern states to the east coast (just my opinion not intending to offend anyone living on the east coast----it's beautiful there too......)

Soooooo Cindy, have ya gotten that plane ticket yet? did I tell you your favorite guy (Rodger from Survivor) was at Kings Island yesterday! lol I thought of you when I heard it on the news!

better go, think I'll go get some lettuce from the garden for my sandwich today! ;)

Hi Ellie

take care, Theresa

Morning Everyone!

Glad to see someone else up here posting and glad you had a great Mother's Day!

Theresa - Had two of my girlfriends and their families here for Mom's Day and we were all sharing stories of how the day had been until we got together. All of us have boys within a year of each other and they all decided that it should have been kids day and "why do Mom's get a day anyway". DH didn't think anyone elses kids acted like ours until then. LOL LOL LOL I finally got to show him first hand that there are others in this world that are just as much of a pain in the tush to raise!

Viv - Have a safe flight and I'll be thinking about you. Everything is going to be over before you know it.

Well, got a call on Saturday and my parents have bought a place in Ft. Lauderdale. Two bedroom condo that is bigger in sq. footage than their house. They are out today and tomorrow buying furniture for the new place. I'm going to be in heaven!!!!! No more stopping by unannounced, no more telling me how to do things. Somebody pinch me, I can't believe this is finally happening.

Well gotta get going. Have a great day and I'll catch you all later.

Lynn

THeresa-I had a wonderful Mothers day too, a busy, busy weekend here, didn't have time to post. Your flowers sound very nice, THINK THEY WILL STILL BE BLOOMING IN AUGUST? and YES, I picked up my ticket. :)

Back again!

Hello Everyone! It was great seeing all of you are still around. I'm sorry I dropped out of sight for a while. It sounds like you're all doing OK.

Cindy - Love your picture! I knew you'd have short hair

Theresa - You still have great stories and love the graphics in your posts!

Robin - How long have you been on Meridia? My doctor gave me a prescription but I haven't filled it yet. I'm trying to get my insurance company to pay for it.

How is CAB doing? Does she still sign in occassionally?

I finally moved to a new house. Some of you may remember that I had to make the decision to either move for a better school or change neighborhoods. We decided to move. It's a pretty nice house. The commute to work is about the same. The kids seem to like a lot.

Well, time for bed. I promise to try to keep in touch better this time.

cheers!

Laurie
