Yummy to the bagels! Send me one. lol Working on the house is something I need to be doing, but I'm not going to overdo it on anything. Last time I felt decent ( a week ago last Sat.) was when I did lots of laundry. I've hurt ever since. I did wash up some dishes, and I'm going to empty the dishwasher. Sounds like major work, doesn't it?
I'm baking Caribean Beach Bread. Never had it. One of my students gave me the mix on the last day of school. It's from Tastefully Simple. Smells great though. Had to add water and crushed pineapple. My kind of cooking. They have a website if you want to check it out. www.tastefullysimple.com There are home parties for it. I've been invited to 2 of them, so it must be the new thing in this area. One of my friends loves the Vidalia Onion dressing. I may buy some at the party next week (or whenever it is!). Kramer is doing pretty good. He acts almost like a puppy again! For as bad as he was for a while, we're very thankful (even when he gets into things!). Maybe Smokey and Kramer could meet some day! NOT!! I bought some Blue Bunny Sugar Free Ice Cream Bars when we were at Wal Mart earlier. I love the fundge bars. I also have been eating their low carb yogurt. Yum! I hope the weight that I'm losing is because I've been trying to lose, not because of whatever is wrong with me. Makes me wonder because many days I haven't watched that close. We leave for Michigan on the 18th. I'm looking forward to it. Plan to take plenty of reading material in case I'm not up to all of the walking around that we normally do. I hope I'm able to do some shopping though! Carol, Melissa, and I are getting together on the 11th for a small shopping trip to the little town we go to every year around Christmas. They figured they'd drop me off to visit with the owners of the B&B we stay at every year while they shop. I just had an email of the owner and she wanted to know when we're coming this summer. We don't stay there in the summer, just bug her and her husband. Fun!! Have you tried any of the new salads and wraps at Arbys? I had the Asian Sesame Salad. Delicious!! Had the southwest chicken wrap yesterday. Yummy! Had a turkey and bacon wrap one day. If I ever get it again, I'll have them leave off the bacon. It's the pepper bacon and I don't really care for that. Enough for now! Don't want anyone falling asleep while they read this!!! |
It's very hot down in Texas. I hope everyone is doing good.
Sis, I'm sorry about your surgery. Do you have hyperthyroidism? Is that the reason for your surgery? Yes, I have heard that a person can gain weight after that surgery. However , you don't have to gain. I believe that if you keep exercising, you can get your metabolism going and keep losing. Now I'm no doctor....that's my opinion. Please post and let us know how you are doing. Hope everyone else is okay. Let's hear from ya. tina :flow1: |
Well Edward went for the big snip today, he is walking around the house a little bow legged and is giving us the cold shoulder. Poor little guy.
I splurged and bought myself a new comforter today and some of the extras, it's shades of blue flowers on white with dark blue piping around the edges, I think I will paint my bedroom a light yellow. Right now it has 1980's wallpaper and a bargain basement bedspread. I'm still trying to squish the two houses of furniture together, I worked all weekend at it, and came home yesterday and looked around DANG! Its still a mess. I hope the sun is working its magic on Y'all. |
Ok gang. I felt pretty good Mon. and Tues. I got up today and was feeling OK until the phone rang. It was the principal telling me a meeting we were all supposed to have tomorrow is postponed. I immediately got a headache and started hurting worse. I think stress really has something to do with this. Now what do I do? I'm too young to retire. How am I going to go back in the fall?
Tina, it has been in the 70's during the day here, so it has been nice. I just shut some windows because I'm actually cold! Can't wait to crawl in bed and cover up! Should I turn on the electric blanket? Poor Edward! Ouch! Good for you for buying some new things. I was looking through a catalog and thinking about redoing our bedroom. We need to do so many other things though. (like pull out the bushes in front of the house and put new in!!) |
Stress can do strange things to us.
Tammy, is there any other school near you? How about a private one? It might even pay better. Sis, I know your surgery is this week. I pray that everything goes well. Susan, how are your doing? Mimi, has Edward gotten back to normal? I hope so. :flow1: |
Tina, I would cost too much to go to another school. Too much experience. I have taught 27 years, have my master's degree, and have 20 hours on top of that. I'm way too expensive. Believe me, I've thought about it.
Sis, thinking about you with your surgery. Prayers are with you. I'm ready for a nap! I just got up. Feel better than I did after the boss called yesterday. Hope it stays this way. |
A NAP you say! :) I haven't had breakfast yet. :)
Tammy, I'm glad you feel better today. It's too bad you can't change schools. But, I totally understand about seniority and the money thing. Everyone have a great day! :flow1: |
Hi guys,
Just a quick note while I'm here in ole' San Antonio. All I've done is visit family and take LOTS of naps!!! I've apolgized to my mom and dad for sleeping so much. It sure has felt good. We went to Babies R' Us last night. While I took my little niece to the restroom, Daddy bought me my stroller. Mom said he would have bought out the whole store for me. (In case I haven't told you, I'm a Daddy's girl) He is getting around much better from his fall and broken ribs. He is still sore. Mom's doing great. I'm going back to McKinney tomorrow. It's been hot and humid here!!! Dallas has had major storms. I didn't talk to Pat last night to see how hard we were hit but I'm sure we got some of the rain. Ya'll take care and I'll write more Friday evening. Susan |
Susan, it's so good to hear from ya.
I'm surprised your dad didn't buy out the store for you. That's what grandparents do! I'm glad you've been getting lots of rest. You and Tammy both need to sleep a week after teaching. It's a beautiful day here. The rain lowered the humidity, yes, it really did. It's lots cooler today. I had to take Mother for a blood test. I didn't mind having to wear slacks today. I'm strictly a shorts person. :) Have a good day. Tina |
LOL to your dad Susan!!! My parents were the same way. Glad your parents are doing well. That's always good to hear. I'm sure your parents don't mind you napping at all. I used to stop here on my way home from school and take a nap before going on home which was another 8 miles. Isn't that pitiful? My parents liked to pamper me. lol
I am so tired of rain!! We have 3 fans running in our basement to try to dry things out. They are helping. It never gets like that unless it rains and rains and rains, which it definitely has lately. It is cool here again today. It was about 50 early this morning, and it might be 70 now. It is so nice! We had 2 deer in our back yard earlier. Tim got some pictures. That used to happen all the time where we lived before, but hasn't happened since we moved to my parents' house. We've lived here 5 years, and I still think of it as theirs. What are my house payments for? lol That's all for now. |
It's Summer
I am starting a new thread for us!
