Hi all!
The other Fab. 40's went to the 2nd page. Welcome Kelly, I think you will like this program. I have a daughter almost 15. I also have 2 boys that are younger. I just turned 42 and have been with my hubby for 24 yrs. but married 18. Tomorrow is the 24th anniv. of our first date. We are here if you need us and I know we will learn a few things from you. Good luck and I can't wait to hear about your first loss. Jen, I knew it would be Nick. I think they went back to their original tribes again. I say Get Over it. You are Beermonday (however you spell it). I want Roger, Elisabeth, Tina, Keith, Colby and Amber in that order to win the $1,000,000. I was glad Nick left. Jerri looked all smug. :smug: Hi everybody. Enjoy your Friday. Terri |
TGIF tomorrow!!
Hi Y'all ~ another Thursday night and tomorrow is FRIDAY! I sure need the weekend ~ what a stressful few days I've had. The weekend is going to be very, very needed.
Joyce ~ The only threads I post now (and prior to me being MIA for 6 months) is Christian Encouragers, 40's and the Thin Group. Maybe I just "thought" I knew you. My brain is mush lately and I get confused easily. As for the treadmill, I have one made by Weslo and I've had it for some time.....I only just brought it out of the garage and cleaned it up to use. Essie ~ slow down girl ~ you'll wear yourself out. Kelly ~ welcome!!! Glad you found us. Hi Myra, Jen, Dianne, Terri ~ hope y'all are having a great night. Talk to you's later. Patti ~ soaking up the "SON" in Texas |
Welcome Kelly -- wholly molely - we are just blooming here! 3 newbies in 2 weeks. This is great. Now just have to try to remember all the names, LOL. The more the merrier, right ladies. Kelly this is a great group here and I'm sure we'll help each other. Congrats on joining ww -- good program.
Eveyone else (I'm not saying all these names, its too late in the night and my mind is not working properly, LOL) have a great friday. Dianne |
You are right Dianne. This group is getting big.
Anita, I was lurking in the general section and I saw that you eat a BakersBreakfast cookie every day. So do my husband and I. I like the old ones better but these are pretty good. I love to take them to movies and are great on the run. They keep me from getting hungry for up to 4 or 5 hrs. I just ordered the Pirate Booties snacks. Have you ever had those. Everyone raves about them. Rosie mentions them on her show. Have a great Friday everyone. Terri |
Hi Everybody
Welcome Kelly. We are a fun group. I'm sure you'll like us :D Patti, TGIF!!! Is it stress on the job? I can relate. I always try & remember "Let Go, Let God". Way to go with your treadmill. I have a Pro Form that folds. That's the best investment I ever made. Terri or Joyce, what's TOPS? I've heard of it but that's one I never tried:rolleyes: hmmmmmmmmm.....interesting. Only kidding:lol: Where do you get Breakfast Cookies? Pirate Booties snacks I can buy at Trader Joes. I also read somewhere about Skinny Cows(?) ice cream sandwiches. I think that's what they're called. If anyone knows, where can I buy them? Dianne, you don't have to say all our names. We know you love us :D Yes, I do need to slow down. Not enough hours in the day. I'm taking my 13 yr. old niece to the Beauty Salon this afternoon, to get her hair done. She's also my goddaughter so I always try & do something special with her. She's like the daughter I never had. Anita, Kelly, Joyce, Terri, Patti, Dianne, Jen & Myra whewwwww :spin: boy, are we growing! This is so cool. Have a great day everybody. Essie :) |
Another new smiling face! Hi Kelly , I'm glad you're here. I'm 47, from the Chicago area. Joe and I will celebrate our 30th anniversary in June; we've got a grown daughter and son, and 2 wonderful grandsons. I'm currently enjoying "retirement" after working for 24 years. Looking forward to getting to know you.
Essie, I love the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. I heard about them at a WW meeting; they're available at Dominick's (Safeway) in this area. I prefer the strawberry flavor, very good for 2 points each. I've heard a lot about Pirate's Booty, but quite frankly, it doesn't look very appetizing. I'm happy with pretzels or wow tostitos for snacks. Terri, you're right, if they're one tribe now, they should let go of the old loyalties. I didn't think I'd enjoy this show after the novelty of the first one wore off! Have a great Friday, I know some of you are really looking forward to relaxing this weekend (Zoe) I hope you get some much needed R & R ! ~Jen |
Hi Essie,
Here is where I get mine: http://bakersbox.com/ And here is another site where you can get them: http://www.dottisweightlosszone.com/bakersbox.html This second site takes a lot longer to get them though and you have to order a minimum of 4 doz. The first site you can order in incraments of 1/2 doz. but the more you order the cheaper in the long run they are. They take 2-3 weeks to get here. There are a couple of more sites out there like wakeupnsmellthecoffee.com but I have never tried them. Someone else might know of more sites. How have you been? Made a decision yet on the gym offer? Hi Jen, Patti, Dianne, Myra, Anita, Joyce and Kelly. Hope I didn't forget anyone. Terri 194.6/150/135-----------I need to see it to keep me motivated. |
Terri, you SHOULD post your stats......they're worth bragging about!
~Jen |
Thanks Jen. When I see the numbers it boosts me.
It is all a mind game isn't it? Have a wonderful Friday. Hugs, Terri |
Happy Friday Tribe
Essie - You read about the skinny cow ice cream sandwiches here, from me, LOL. I love them and they are only 2 pts. and very filling. I get them at Waldbaums, which I'm sure you have out on the island. Yes, essie, I love "you's" all -- but too many names, especially since Patti/Zoe counts as two people, LOL! Well, gotta run, busy today. Tomorrow is step-daughter's baby shower (grandbaby #13's mom). And Sunday we have a college visit with Alana. We are revisiting one of her two choices. So, busy weekend ahead. Hope you all have a great one and if I can, I'll come in sometime this weekend. Dianne |
Hi Everyone
HI and thanks for the warm welcome. I hope to get to know you all. Monday will be my first whole week on ww and will be my weigh in at 12:00. Hope to see those numbers going down. I need to lose at least 30 pounds. This is as much as I have weighed my whole life. Anyway, hope everyone has a great week end!!!!
My daughter has a softball game sat morn at 8:00 Yuck no time to sleep in!!!! Ha!!!! Talk to you next week. Kelly |
Hello :D
Jen, I tried the Pirates Booties corn chips. They were very good. I have to try those ice cream sandwiches. Dianne, you are too funny about Patti/Zoe confusion. Have a great time at the baby shower. Terri, thanks for the info on the cookies. I'll check it out. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. It seems just like the other day you weighed 170! How long did it take you to reach 150? You didn't play around with the program & you kept going to meetings. This is why you're so successful. Congratulations Girlfriend ;) Kelly, you can do it. We're in this for the long haul. I have to lose 25. WE can do it! Have a good night  |
TGIF!!!
Hi Y'all
Whew!! I made it to Friday and now, I am going to concentrate on staying (or should I say GETTING BACK) OP. I must say that the stress this week took every bit of will power I had and I have eaten as if I were some skinny person trying to gain a few pounds. It was disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!! I have taken a challenge in another thread to be perfectly OP Saturday and I promised myself (and God) that I would. Anyone else?? Terri ~ What IS a Bakers Breakfast Cookie anyway?? Essie ~ I've had my treadmill for about 2 yrs but just now "dusted" it off. Tomorrow morning I'm going to the gym early and see if I can get into what they call a "spinning" class.....stationary bikes, loud music and heart monitors....a full 40 minute workout. Hope I can get in and if I do, hope I can keep up. Jen ~ thanks for that little "hint" of relaxing. Ha!! I will, I will, I promise I will. :) Hi Dianne, Anita, Kelly, Joyce, and Myra, whew, we sure ARE getting to be some group!! :D Have a great Saturday! Patti 209/183/148 (I think I need to see it too) |
Essie,
It has taken me since May. I have 15 more. Wish me luck. You don't have that much to lose. You will do it. Kelly, Good luck to your daughter. I hate those early games. Good luck to you on Monday. keep us posted. We get so excited over here. :D Patti, The cookies used to have 12 grams of fiber but they are down to 5 grams. They "improved" them. They are supposed to be used for a meal replacement like a breakfast bar. They curb my appetite for up to 5 hrs. they used to be 1.5-3 points with the old points (123 points) and then with winning points (capping fiber at 4) they went to 4 points but now they are 5 points because they have a new recipe. But the reason I like them (besides being tasty and filling) is they stop me from eating 10 points in 5 hours time. They have all different flavors. I like mine 5 min. out of the freezer. I eat them on the go and if I have nowhere to go I eat one when I read the paper. They have a picture and a list of the flavors on the sites I gave earlier. Hi Dianne, Jen, Myra, Joyce and Anita. Terri----- Have a great weekend. |
Happy Saturday Buddies :D
Terri, Baker's Cookies must be like the Metabolife 356 cookies. They useto sell them at the mall. They were $2.00 each:eek: High fiber & very filling. Zoe, SPINNING is supposed to be high intensity & fun. I'm dying to try it. My brother loves it. You'll burn lots of calories. Be very careful your 1st time. A lady I know had to stop because her heart was racing too fast. Let us know how it went. Terri, about the gym - my brother had found a space in a very good neighborhood but the rent was too high & it needed alot of work. He's still looking. Pete is a little worried about me managing it cause he thinks he'll never see me. Lots to consider:?: You have set such a good example for us. Believe it or not you are the one that has motivated me all along. It's taken me forever but I always think to myself how you were at the same weight I am now & you've reached 150. I really, really am so proud of you. ;) 15 more to go, my fingers are crossed. Let me go jump in the shower & get dressed. I'm having a living room set delivered in a little while. I am soooooo excited. Be back later. Have a great day everybody:wave: |
AW!! Thank you so much Essie. Actually I was at 194 when I first started. I was ecstatic when I reached 170. 150 is great. You will get here. How tall are you? Just make it a lifetime commitment and relax a little. Enjoy life and go day by day.
I'll bet you look nice now. I'll bet Pete would say "MMMmm she looks fine." Have a wonderful Saturday my friend. HI everyone. After my 3.8# loss I gained 1/2 pound. :( That is ok because I am stil 3.3# down and that is a larger than normal loss for me and it is my TOM. I felt so bloated this morning I almost didn't go because of that but I said "No, do it." I am determined to get at least 2 pounds off next week. Have a great weekend. Terri |
Good Saturday everyone!
I didn't get around to posting yesterday. The weather was beautiful and I worked outside all afternoon...then I was sooo tired. Our daughter is suppose to come out today and help with some edging. We live in the country & our house is on an acre of land which gets to be a handful to take care of. My husband broke his back 4 years ago and can't do a lot of the work. Or if he does he is in serious pain afterwards. Sounds like there are a few Survivor fans here. My husband & I love to watch. Although I liked the characters/contestants last year much better. I agree with Terri about the order of winners. Did any of you like Jeri? :D Essie - TOPS stands for Take Off Pounds Sensibly. It is a weight loss club. It does not support any particular diet but offers support to those who are dieting. Kelly - I started WW last Tues. , my meetings are at 6:30 pm. I am on my first week too. I have 100 pounds to lose. We can do this! I have stayed OP everyday except one. So I think I'm doing okay so far. I am learning names and getting to know everyone so forgive me if I mess up for awhile. :o Have a great weekend. Joyce |
Joyce,
I am so sorry about your husband. How did that happen? I hope his pain isn't too bad. I have scoliosis and that is bad enough. I couldn't imagine. We did a lot of yard work too. Beautiful weather. Now about Jerri on Survivor. I COULDN'T STAND HER!!  Her mom and dad live where I do. She has been here a few times since the show. We were sure it was going to be Elisabeth that was going to be voted off the night Jerri was and man did we scream when Jeff said Jerri's name. That was so much fun. Good luck on Tuesday. Terri |
Good morning Ladies :)
Joyce, ouch!! a broken back must have been very painful. So sorry for hubby :( I love the country. No one would believe I was born & raised in the city. I live in the suburbs but too many people are living here now. I wish I could go further out but right now I'm very close to my job. I regret I never watched Survivor. I hear so much about it from my co-workers. Terri, I've been 170 for around 3 yrs. I go up alittle, down alittle. It's my own fault. I snack too much. I really need to buy the Bakers Cookies. Thank God I like to exercise. That's what has helped me stay the same. I go for a physical next month & I would like to lose 10 lbs. by then. I think I mentioned that my cholesterol has always been high. I know if I lose at least a little it'll be down some. I'm 5' 2" Hi Jen, Dianne, Zoe, Kelly, Anita  Have a great day :) |
Myra, are you out there??? I hope all is well. I miss you:(
|
Hi everyone! I had a great day yesterday working outside too. I am really sore today...:(
By the way what is spinning? I have never heard of it. I also have a question about exercise and WW. I have not received my exercise book yet but if you do more than 20 minutes of exercise do you get points. If so how many? About survivor - Terri we shouted too. We expected the same thing that Elisabeth would get it. After Jeri got it, I told my husband I bet people all over the world were jumping for joy. Terri & LivingFit - My husband was in construction and the people he was working for used Pump Jacks ( a very dangerous form of scaffolding). The uprights broke and he fell two stories. His T4 vertabrae was crushed. He had some nerve damage. They took bone from his hip to rebuild the vertabrae, then put in metal rods to make sure it healed properly and no more injury occured. It was a bad time in my life. For 6 months after he got home I had to do everything for him until the back healed enough for him to do it. Plus work full time and cope with a daughter that was 16 and going through her rebellious stage. She was also very angry about the accident her real Dad died when she was 2 1/2 yrs and this scared her. I gained most of my weight during the year he was recovering. I also developed hypothyroidism right after this. I think my adrenals just gave out. Sorry didn't mean for this to get so long. Feels good to share though. Have a great day. Hello to everyone in our group! Joyce |
Hi!
Joyce, what a terrible thing to happen. Thank God he's okay. I am an emotional eater. Lots of us are. So I can understand how you gained your weight during that time. With WW & our support, you'll be fine. Spinning is exercising on a bike. They set the mood. Alot of the gyms have it. I've never taken it but I plan to. I like high intesity workouts. Patti, could tell us more about it. The activity points I hardly ever use. I'm new at it so I'll let someone who has been on program longer explain it to you. I guess I can't explain anything huh:rolleyes: I'm really tired right now & I can't think straight when I'm tired. Have a good night my new friend :) Essie |
Hello all!!
Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted, but have had major computer trouble and looks like I get to buy a new PC! For now, I'm using hubby's laptop, which is nice. :) Terri I eat pirates booty every day too. :) Just one of those great low point snacks I have to have. I order online for them too as we don't have them here. I just order a case at a time and they're fresh that way. Im gonna' make it to chat sometime here. When do you go in? Any certain time of the day? Kelly Welcome to the group here. I am new too and was glad to see everyone here is really nice and friendly. Joyce Are you new to posting here too? I'm just trying to keep up!! Hope you like it here as well. Was a good week end, but just gone too fast for me. Spent most of my time shopping for 'puters. :) Oh well, gotta' be doing something, hu? Hope you are all ready for a good one on Monday... |
Hi everyone,
Kelly, good luck tomorrow at your weigh-in, let us know how it goes. :) Essie, a new living room set? Cool, don't you love shopping for furniture? We'll be working on our living room and dining rooms this fall, I can't wait to go shopping! I know you'll be successful in your battle with those pounds. You have one big plus on your side....that love of exercise. At least you know that even if you're carrying around extra pounds, you're in good shape and strong and healthy. Joyce, what an ordeal your husband and you have been through, I hope he's stronger every day. Good luck with your weigh in on Tuesday. We had beautiful weather here yesterday and today, mid 70's and sunny! I raked and cleaned out a few flower beds today, it was so nice to be outside, I hated to come in. I'm really looking forward to being at home this summer, something I used to dream of when at work. Myra, I got a yoga video from the library, and tried yoga on Friday. It was with Rodney Yee, focusing on abs. I found it to be much more satisfying than I had anticipated, and am going to pursue it further. I thought of you the whole time! Hi Terri, Dianne, Zoe.....hope you're all well. ~Jen |
Happy Monday :D
I like Mondays. Weird:rolleyes: Mondays are for a new start & usually I'm very busy at work. The day goes by fast. Joyce, that's what happened to my old computer. I went out the same day & bought a new. I freaked out when it crashed:eek: I'm in for the chat room also. We should plan it. Jen, I have the Power Yoga by Rodney Lee. He was on Oprah Friday. Enjoy the Spring weather. Today is suppose to reach 70 here in NY. Great weather for walking outside. Gotta get ready for work. Have a great day everybody  |
Monday evening
Hi Y'all
can't stay but just wanted to check in. Mondays are so hectic and with going to the gym, I'm behind with everything I want to do tonight.... Nothing is new.....same old stuff. I hope you are all doing well. Sorry I haven't addressed anyone personally......I'll do better tomorrow, I promise. :) Have a great Tuesday tomorrow |
Goodmorning Everybody,
Zoe, I was reading the other boards & read that you started Atkins. I work with someone that has been very successful with this diet. It's been 2 yrs. & she kept it off. Good luck to you & hubby ;) Be back later. Have a great day. |
Atkin's Diet
Hi Y'all ~
Well, I am attempting to try something that I did many years ago and that is cutting back on my carbs to lose weight. In 1980 I did this and lost 91 pounds in 6 months. I am still counting my WW pts ~ maybe it's over-kill but I'm getting desperate. I promised myself that I would do it for about 1 week. I started on Sunday and I will see if the scale moves on Saturday morning......that will be 6 full days. I hope you guys won't kick me out of this group. I love it here and am still watching my points. :) I guess if I need to leave, I'd understand...... Hope you are all having a good OP week. So far, so good with me.... |
Zoe, don't even think you'd be kicked out of this group! We all need to find the support that works for us, and you're here to stay. Good luck w/your new plan, the point is you're trying, right? :)
How is everyone? I've maintained.....again. At least I know that when I eventually reach goal, I shouldn't have a problem maintaining! I'm going to restart with the week 1 book today, and refocus on the basics. Have a great day! ~Jen |
HI!
Essie, I am sure that you look wonderful! Don't beat yourself up. Good luck on your new goals. You will meet them. Just remember, this is for life. WE will never be done talking about this. Enjoy your furniture. Joyce, I am so sorry to read about your daughter. I'll bet that was hard. That is too much pain for such a young girl. I am praying that your husband makes a full recovery. My husband broke his leg in three places last year and I had to do everything (Right in the middle of baseball season- two boys were playing) for about 4 months. That is hard. I can't imagine doing it longer. Bless You You talk as long as you want. Zoe, There is nothing wrong with incorporating other plans in ww. Carbs can be a killer. Good luck! You better stay. Jen, Maintaining is soooo much better than a gain. Cangrats!!!! Hi Dianne, Anita, Kelly and Myra (Hope I didn't miss anyone.) Terri Starting #50--------------------See you there. |
Hi Buds:wave:
Zoe my friend, don't even think about us not wanting you here. I hope I didn't come across that way :( WW could be done with any plan. That's why this program works. Last year I tried Atkins for 2 days & I felt too bloated. It was me & my nephew. We planned to try it for 2 weeks. He lost 15 lbs!! Terri, you're right about this being for life. Someone else I know started 1 week ago & everyone noticed yesterday that she looked thinner. This is her first time on WW & she loves it. There's 5 people at my job doing it. I was telling them if we could get enough people we could have them come to the job. I think we need at least 8 or 10. I'm going to find out. Jen, do you eat by the numbers? 2 milks, 2 fruits etc. I was thinking about doing the points/selections. It can get complicated. At least you maintained :) Does anyone know what happened to Myra? Haven't heard from her in awhile. Till tomorrow:wave: Essie |
