Default Feisty & Sexy 50 & 60 year olds#13

G'day all and a very Happy Easter to you all.

It is beautiful weather again after a bit of rain yesterday.
Nothing really planned for the weekend, we are having some visitors, dh and ds are playing golf tomorrow morning and then we have lunch with my sisters. Of course golf won't be finished till late, they have been told lunch is on the table at 2 o'clock, so BE THERE!!!!

It was fun to receive Slavika's voice mail. I went to the net and downloaded some program to do the same, it worked quite well and it was emailed to you all but the majority of emails came back to me I was amazed how large the file was, the message was only 39 seconds long, Slavika did receive it.
Perhaps I should put it in a zip-file. Might try again, I am not one to give up too easily!

I am off to shower and tidy up a bit.....

Cheers
Maria

Happy Easter Everybody

My turkey is in the oven cooking away. This is the first time I will have cooked at turkey using my convection oven. I sure hope it turns out!
I didn't stuff the bird this time either, but made a new dressing as a side dish. Hope it is good too.
The good thing about cooking for one's family, is that if things are not perfect, nobody really seems to care.
Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Smile Happy Easter all

My computer is finally home again. I was quite pleased when my SIL brought it with them when they came over for dinner today. I lost all my addresses, maybe you all could send me an e-mail with your address again? It is going to take me a while to get everything set up the way I like it. I just hated not being able to come here, read and see what everyone was up to. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. We had a lovely day with family.
Talk to you all later...

Question where is everyone?

I was away for so long, did you gals all move to another thread? Can't believe no one has shown up since Sunday. My is working quite good except for 9 "little" problems My sil put XP on since Win98 just wouldn't work anymore. I just think XP needs some fine tuning, of course I am lost on what to do. One of the 9 problems is my Trudy e-mail... not working at all. I will have to phone my ISP later on today. They put me on hold for so long.
See you later Slavika

I will check back to see if any of you show up.

Well this is totally wierd. I am almost positive I posted yesterday. Maybe I am dreaming or it is lost in space.

Did I mention that we are moving? We are getting our house ready for the market. Just going up the road a little ways where it will be quieter. We are buying my husbands aunts house. We have been fixing it up for the market since she died last August. He has his construction shop and junk there and we couldn't find a place to move it so we are moving. It is hard to go through 30 years of accumulated stuff and decide what to keep and what to toss. It would be so easy to toss everything. So that is keeping me busy. Plus I am going to Chicago this weekend with about 6-8 friends. I must be out of my mind but it will be fun. It is cold again here and rainy but it is supposed to warm up again-I hope it does there too. It's about a 5 hour drive.

See you all later,

G'day all,

Wednesday morning here and things are back to normal, dh left for Sydney yesterday and will be back Friday and then.......one person wants him in Singapore on Monday and another wants him back in Sydney .
One of his colleagues is going to Baghdad on Thursday . This person lost his wife about 2 years ago, has been frustrated with work (and haven't we all!!!) and sees this as an opportunity to advance further within the company. I am pleased to say that we definetly would not even consider such a project.
I think what is happening in Iraq at the moment is just horrendous. We are receiving a direct telecast this morning at 10.30am (8.30 pm your time Tuesday) with a press statement from George Bush, I will be very interesting to see how he will justify what is going on there now.
I feel very sad for so many American families that have lost their sons/daugthers over there this past year.

Trudy good to hear you are back on line. I use Windows XP, if you have any problems don't hesitate to ask here for help (or email) I am sure those of us who have Windows XP will be happy to assist. I have found Windows XP a bit to get used to. I found it very annoying that some of my hardware ie. scanner was not compatible with Windows XP so for a while I went back to Windows 2000 but I have now been using Windows XP again for the past 12 months or so. It does have some great features.

Peggy I do remember you telling us about your dh's aunts house. If you purchase it what do you intend to do with it, rent it out?
I know you will think I am crazy but I would love some of your cool weather, I am so tired of the continual hot weather here, today again 30 degrees. I haven't been able to plant my bulbs because it is still too hot.
I would love to go to bed in a COLD bedroom and snuggle under the covers instead of just sleeping under a sheet!

Well so much for my very serious gripes.

I will go and make some coffee and sit and listen to what your president has to say.

Cheers
Maria

Cool Hi everyone

I just had to come back and post. I still can't access my Trudy mail or my DH's mail... . My ISP has a E-Mail Spam Filter and I managed to get into it and found e-mail from Maria, Peggy, Lily, Marnie, Karen and Slavika. I guess my e-mail account wasn't accessible so Spam took it. I just loved hearing your voice Maria.. you do sound Australian. Thanks for the Easter cards Lily and Peggy, also got I your addy.
I have problems with my printer, can't get powerpoint to work, my "favorites" are not in the start up menu, Hotmail won't work... I need some kind of an update, don't have spell check in my other e-mail (I really need that), something is not right with the Word Graphics Conversion Filter (what the heck is that??) ... I could go on and on. My SIL is really busy right now so I will have to wait until he can focus on my problems. Slavika borrowed me a Excel For Windows 95, so I could get spell check, but I am not sure it would be compatible with XL.. got to see about that too.
I casually called my DD for "HELP" but she was having her own problems. She went grocery shopping and did some errands with the . When she got home, and was putting away groceries in the pantry, the little one was taking everything off the lower shelfs.. she got her out of the pantry and the little imp went and dumped out the dog dish .. that's when I called her. is walking and "talking" and getting into everything. Lots of fun.
Peggy I didn't know you were moving. That is a big undertaking.. I hope it goes good and you like your new home. Have fun with your friends in Chicago.. sounds like a blast.
Lily when my got ill I thought that I would get a lot of work done around here, make good use of my spare time, but alas... I watched Dr. Phil and Oprah and really didn't do a lot, I even watched The Young & Restless..
Maria going to Baghdad is out of the question. What is he thinking? The situation there is just awful. It worries me how this is all going to end. I am going to go watch the news now and see what Bush had to say.
I had a good day, Tea Time was fun. Slavika's re-decorated house is just beautiful, love those curtains and pictures. You did a great job.

Goodnight all...

Trudy you should be able to do spell check in your emails.
I guess you would be using Outlook Express.
Go to 'tools' then 'options' then the first tab is 'spelling' and that is where you can tick if you want all your emails spell checked before sending.
Hope that helps......

Thumbs up Hello, All:

Nice to read all of your posts. Sounds like Easter was a beautiful day for all. Me, too, except I got into the chocolate! = But I'm back on the straight and narrow now. I even added weights to my workout yesterday at Lifetime Fitness. BTW, do any of you lift weights? I'm really a novice and could use any help you might have. I kind of watch for a personal trainer who's helping someone else to get tips!

Slavika and Maria , it was so nice hearing you. I'm trying to get DS to help me try sending a message on our computer at home. I have a MAC at work and a PC at home.

Lily and Peggy , your cards were very nice;

Trudy , sorry about your computer, but glad you're back now. Wish we could all go to tea with you. Would love to see your homes - and now that Slavika's is all "new-ish," it would be fun.

I am so glad DS did not have to go to war. I ache for the mothers & fathers who have lost their sons/daughters in Iraq. I want everyone home safe and sound.

Maria, I'll gladly send you some cool weather; I want to start gardening, too

Lily I got an error message on an e-mail I'd sent to you. I hope I have the correct e-mail address.

Karen we had snow flurries down here on Easter afternoon, too. I'm ready for summer.

Hi to Glenda and Ann!

Better get to work. I'll check in later. I love this smilie

Going to try this again. Just lost a post I was writing.

It was good to come here and read all the post. I've been so busy again that I haven't had a chance to just sit here .

Monday I hit the floor running and it was like that all day. Then again Yesterday. So am very glad I don't have to leave the house today unless I want too.

Trudy it is good ro see you back on line. Your little sounds as though she is going to give Mom a run for her money. Those are the days I tell my Kids that Mothers forget to tell there children about. Or there would be no children!

Easter was a great day. Too much food it didn't help my weight loss efforts at all. I'm still trying to undue the damage.

Slavika and Maria It was good to hear your voices . And Lily I wasn't able to pick up the card but it was a nice thought anyway. Thank You

Peggy I under stand the delima your in. What to keep and what to throw As I look around the house I am in the same boat. I figure after I get back from our house buying trip Ill know for sure what to throw! That trip is just a month away. We talked to a lady yesterday about a house she was selling. It is in a Park in Plant City about 30 Minutes from Tampa They thought they had their place sold so the they bought a bigger better place in the retirement park and the deal fell through. So the are desperate to sell because not only do they have a new house payment but they are paying lot rent on 2 places. They have reduce the price of the house . But I need to see the place first. Don't want a dump! Any way they do have another party intrested in the place so we will call before we leave to see if we need to stop there.

Marnie I am planning to go out for a walk today as long as the weather cooperates. How about You ?

You all were talking about the war. I'm not sure where I stand now I'm beginning to think this is Bush's Veitnam. My Father My Dh and two of my uncles were involved in that mess. Now it looks as if Both my Son and his Girl Friend's unit will be activated soon. Not Happy about that

On that note I will go It's been good to talk to you all. I really miss this when I can't get here.

Hi everyone: I have been MIA since my daughter arrive on Good Friday. We have been having a great time with wonderful Mother /Daughter time we haven't had in a long time. She saved a lot of shopping to do while she is here and we literally 'shopped till we dropped' But it was a good tired.

I finally got to hear the voices of Maria and Slavika, and it was good fun. I told Maria she made me think of Olivia-Newton John. And I did recongnize the Canadian in Slavika's voice. We were accustomed to the Canadian way of speaking, as we lived right on the border up north, in N.Y. STate. right on the St. Lawrence River.

We had a nice Easter, and I stayed within my bounds fairly well. It helps to have a daughter who is doing the lo-carb thing.

Maria: Your daughter is lovely, looks like her Mom, and you should be very proud of her accomplishements.

We had a tough night last night. At 2:00a.m. we got a desparate call from our neighbor. Her DH was too weak to move from the bathroom, and she needed help so he wouldn't fall. So we went dashing over, but between the two of us we couldn't get him on his feet, so we just moved him enough so we could lower him to the floor. Then called 911, and the ambulance came, and transported him to the hospital. I drove her, in her car, to the hospital, and my dh followed behind. We finally got home a little after 5a.m. She stayed until they admitted him, but then drove herself home this a.m. about 10:00. These are not young people. 85 and 86. So today is a sleepy day, and it is very cool and windy. Unsual for April in Fl.

Karen: Plant City is about 35 to 40 min. from us. We go to a dermatologist over there. Got started with her many years ago here, and then she started her practice there, and we just continued to go to her. How long do you expect to be down here. I hope that if you get to us we can have dinner together or something. You certainly will have many nice places to look and find just the right house.

Hi to you all, and after my DD leaves this weekend, I'll be back. Ann

p.s. Heard the President last night, and I think he presented things very well. I don't think there is anyone who likes or wants what is happening in Iraq, but neither did anyone like the things that led up to that. It is interesting to me, that much of the dissidents are coming in from outside the borders, and I didn't get any impression that there would be any deserting of the Iraqui people, because we don't like what is happening. We deserted many in Viet Nam.

I get very upset with our liberal press. They asked some very tough and pointed questions and I think the Pres. handled them well. I have been a supporter of Mr Bush from the beginning. It is amazing how the climate changes, when things aren't just what we all want them to be, and the press just escalates the down feelings. I thought he handled the question of the comparison to Viet Nam very well. And with the hindsight that we have about Viet Nam, its start, continuation and finish, one can really see that comparison is not a fair one. Better get off my 'soapbox' but the election ads just get to me, and to think that we have until November.!!!!! Argh!!!
Thanks for listening. Ann
