Becky... I have the bags of clothing set aside to give to a mission/church thrift store. I'd hate to ever have to throw them out...such a waste. There's always someone that could use it :)

TxAggie 04-05-2001 12:33 PM

Ahhh to never again have to shave!!

I would love to be hair free in all the places that matter. In fact today I'm going in to get my brows waxed :). I love to be pampered, I only wish it didn't cost so much. I'm too chicken to get my legs done. I might do it for the cruise. Have any of ya'll had it done? How many days in advance should I go? I know thats probably TMI :). As far as body image goes...lets see, my boobs are way too small, but DH is good with that, I like my long legs except when trying to find pants (Gap and Banana Republic are the only stores that have lengths that work), the hair is too fine and curly, skin still acts up. I can't think of any more right now. All in all I think age has hepled me to cope and appreciate myself more.

Ali ~ Good going on the paper. I wish my all nighters would have ended at college. I have had quite a few since I got out of school. In the IT field it is pretty common when theres a big deadline. There aren't enough people in this field to satisfy the demand. Also, the upper management worships the allmighty dollar so much that they don't care who gets hurt along the way. OK enough of my venting.

Jen ~ Missed you here! Keep your chin up and vent whenever you feel like. Remember that once you reach goal it won't really matter how fast you got there because you'll be THINNER! We all lose at different paces. Its a lifestyle that lasts forever. You're doing great on the self challenge.

Stacy ~ I loved the marriage counseling we had to attend before our wedding. We had a sponsor couple that we met with about 6 times to talk about the ins and outs of marriage. It had helped so much with the adjustment. Good Luck with that!

Shaylene ~ You just reminded me how much I need to clean out my closet! I have a HUGE range of sizes too. Make sure to estimate the worth of the clothes you donate so that you can get the tax benefits. It can really add up!

Belle ~ Feel better! I wish I could go home. I got an aweful crick in my neck and cant move it!

Becky and Tonya ~ It sounds like you love shopping as much as I do! Poor DH hasn't quite figured out how to deal with my spending habits. He will :)

Well I gotta run. Hi to all I missed!

Kay

I am so busy today. Just a quick hello to say I am thinking about you all.

Jen: Glad to see you back. I wasn getting worried about you! Maybe you should just concentrate on maintaining for a little while? I did that once and then I was able to get back at it better in like a month. ust a thought.
But I know you will get to where you want to be...and vent any time. We are here to help.

Also, Becky, glad you are back. Was worried about you too.

Ok, feel better sick people and I will try to get back later.

Oh, I put skin. I also would love that totaly glowing skin you see in the movies.
Oh well, I guess that is why we have make-up.

Trish

Funny thing about my yo-yoing.... I have been on program for the last 2 weeks. ANd most of the other weeks I have also been OP! Makes no sense to me. I will go to WI on Saturday... WITHOUT hopes of a loss. When I expect a loss, I get disappointed. So I will go in neutral and see what happens. After having a baby.... maybe my body has gone quirky and has decided to retain water one week and then drop the next. Who knows. If I have a huge loss on Saturday I will just kick myself..... It's driving me CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYY....

Grace, Grace 04-05-2001 01:22 PM

Oh the anticipation of a gain! Don't you just love it?! Jen I know where you are coming from. I WI tomorrow and well I deserve a gain. I haven't been doing well. IN fact we had cake for a girls b-day at work. AAHHH I will count it though and I actually might still be OP although cake a day before WI may still hurt me. I am going to my kick butt aerobics tonight though and plan to do the elliptical machine before work tomorrow. Has anyone else done this? I LOVE IT!
Also I wanted to congratulate Monica, Ur I mean Belle on FINALLY deciding to go home. My sister is just like Monica too. I am more of a quirky rachel. My sister is the epitome of the episode where Monica had to be the best hostess :) Our roomate is throwing a PL party on Sun. evening and Mindy (sister) has basically taken over on the planning of it. She is funny though b/c she will complain about having to do it  In fact last night she dusted my room, hung a shelf and made my bed. She's nuts! Not that I mind, You gotta love her.
Jen-I forgot to thank you for reminding me of the self challeng I haven't been updating my log! OOPS!
Kay-At least you get to use the Gap, Banana Republic thing with your husband I mean hey if thats the only place you can get them :) Yes I am def. obsessed with shopping. I went this weekend AGAIN I really do have to stop though. I do social work and you'd think that I am a lawyer or something the way that I spend:s:
Shalyne-Yeah on the clothes. It does make ya feel good doesn't it. I have to get rid of more come to think of it. I try to get rids of something everytime I splurge on a shopping spree. Which is quite often for me as I have mentioned :D

Short post

This has to be short becasue I am borrowing someon's computer. I don not have my own computer at this new client and it is making me crazy. My company is supposed to get me a laptop but it will probably take forever. It is very frustrating.

Anyway, I was very good last night and ended the day (including dinner at Outback) at 24 points plus I earned 4 exercise points!!! Yipee! I had salad, fat free dressing on the side and no cheese, bread, 1/2 Victoria's filet for 6 points adn steamed veggies! I was very pelased with myself! This morning I was greeted by donuts in the break room - evil! I gave in. I have had 1 donut (2 halves) and 1/2 bagel - boo hiss. I am not so thrilled with myself but I am not going to eat my lasagna instead. I have eaten my carrots and will eat my orange shortly. Oh well, it's about trade offs in the end.

Sorry I have to go. I hope you are all having a good day. Thank goodness tomorrow is the end of the week. I won'te be able to post again until next Wednesday. I won't havea computer tomorrow at my office and I leave for Florida on Saturday and come back Tuesday night. Wish me luck with food on vacation. I will be at my grandmother's, which is never easy. We will eat out a lot and it is PAssover on Saturday!

Ok, I really have to end. Have a good day and a great weekend. Good luck to all at WI!!! I WI tomorrow!

Hi all!

Well, we are getting the keys to our house tonight. Hooray! then we need to get going on all the cleaning and stuff. Should be interesting.

Jen- I was wondering where ya went! Glad to see you came back....:) I am with you on this up, down business. The cycle never ends! Course with me I can't seem to stay OP. I must get back on track!

My eating habits suck right now and so does the excercise. It's like I can only manage to do just enough to keep a maintain.

Well gonna run. Gotta start plugging away at the packing again! Chat with you all later.

Emily

p.s. Belle: get better soon!

Whazzup???

Happy Thursday everyone  You’d think I would learn ya know? We had a blast watching the Av’s game last night although I missed some due to Nestle and my in-laws dog not behaving. I was up late anyway b/c the game went into overtime. Then like an idiot, I stayed up a reading for awhile b/c I’m trying to finish a book. Why is it that I keep doing this to myself you guys? Why don’t I just go to bed? I have an exhaustion headache setting in and I don’t know how I’m going to stay awake at my desk all day! I can’t help but laugh at myself for making dumb decisions like that! I need to put my mind to being efficient tonight! I have lots to get done and have to get some sleep! :dz:

Lisa: Way to go Bruins! Isn’t it amazing how it can come down to the last game of the season to determine the playoffs??

Kirsty: I was wondering how tall the Bridget Jones Character was supposed to be the entire time I was reading the books. Like you said, 125 is nothing! I’m just rooting for 135 or maybe 130 if I don’t have to kill myself exercising to maintain it and I’m 5’4”. (range is 116-140 for me) On the food subject, I once found a pop tab in my food. I don’t know if it was intended to be vicious or not, but of course I didn’t eat the food. Come to find out later my DH planned on eating it and doused it with Cayenne pepper! Whoever tasted it deserves what they got!

Becky: Scales can vary a lot, so don’t worry about it!

Kay: Don’t let the gain get you down! You are doing so well, just keep it up. On the marriage counseling thing: DH and I didn’t use a minister that required it, but my friend did. She had a candle party for me recently and one of her guests was the woman of her marriage counseling couple. This lady took upon her self to lecture me for 45 minutes about the fact that DH and I shouldn’t have lived together, the high percentage of divorce, the fact that we need to find a couples counseling group and on and on and on. I was furious  I didn’t ask for this and how dare she butt her big nose in my business????? I was just shocked and appalled. I know she was probably just trying to help but it was extremely rude!!! OK, my turn to get off my soap box.

Lolly: What a fun word! A coworker of mine gave me one that’s great to use instead of knick knacks or gadgets. I can’t spell it but it’s pronounced ‘chochkeys’ It’s Jewish, she’s going to try to get the spelling for me.

Kim: I think losing .6 is wonderful for being on vacation! I’m very impressed :D I’m looking for somewhere that I can get purple stuff. Pens, pinwheels, keychains, balls, etc. Just knick knacks and stuff. Anything purple. I couldn’t find anywhere on the internet so far, so I was looking for help.

Shalyne: I have the same clothing problem! There’s all this smaller clothing that I won’t get rid of b/c I swear it will fit soon. I’ve also been making the big mistake of buying things that are too small b/c they were incredible deals! I’ve got to get my butt in the exercising gear! My other problem is T-shirts. I have tons of them but a lot are from HS. Prom shirts, etc that hold memories. A lot of them are packet away in a box. I have a lot of luck finding good deals on clothing at Ross and TJ Maxx. You really can find brand name expensive stuff there for good deals. I don’t know if you have them where you are. There’s also Gordmans and Marshalls. Hope that helps.

Lola: I understand where you are coming from on not wanting to change much. I’m lucky that I have very good skin, I was graced with my Mom’s chest (sometimes they are a little annoying though – like when I work out  ) and I like the color of my hair. I chose stretch marks/scars. I really want to wear a two piece someday and I just don’t know if I will be able to b/c I would be self concious of them showing. I don’t know that I would want to have plastic surgery done either *sigh* Ah well, I’m pretty happy with me other wise. Now, just to get to goal!

Tonya: I’m very excited to get out all of my spring/summer clothes. I found some really cute stuff last year that I’m dying to wear again!

Jen: I have been going through the up and downs for 2 years! I’ve felt like you do plenty of times. I’ll have incredible motivation for weeks and then all of a sudden I lose it and BAM! I’ve gained 2, 4, 6 or 8 pounds back in a matter of a couple of weeks. The important thing I hear you saying is you refuse to give up. That’s the key for me. No matter what happens, I’m in this for life. We CAN do it, no matter how long it takes. I believe in you! Also remember that if you are keeping up on the exercise, muscle weighs more than fat. Have you taken your measurements and kept track that way? It’s important, and you’ll probably see a difference that way too. It will slow down your weight loss which is OK!

Becky: On the purple shop – see my note to Kim above. I like your idea of lecturing yourself to keep going on WW. I’ll have to try that! I too want to be a fun Grandma who will go out and do things!! I blame my co-worker for my recent shopping fetish. I need to keep telling myself that paying bills is a GOOD thing! I’m more of Monica too! Have fun at the party on Sunday! You’ll have to tell me what you thing of the Spring catalog! I love it and want two of everything.

Jeez! This is a long post! Suppose I should get some work done! Sorry if I missed anyone, my eyes are going buggy :dizzy:

Trish!

I've been thinking about you! How is it going???

Jen-L 04-05-2001 01:51 PM

BRENDA

Did you try your local Office Supply store... like OfficeMax?? They should have funky pens and notepads and folders. Maybe even stickers. Also if you want to go on-line... Quill or Officemax is on-line for office type supplies. As for other ginky (that is a word my former job used for fun little items that you give away.... ours had the business logo on)... I will keep my eyes peeled for you. A lot of dot com stores have gone under, so it is harder to find strange things on-line!!

Shalyne 04-05-2001 02:16 PM

Brenda... we do have TJ Maxx and Marshalls here... not sure about the other two tho. I haven't been to TJ Maxx in awhile but you're right, they do have some good stuff... I think it's all about timing, you can really luck out on finding nice things. I will have to take a look there.

tilley 04-05-2001 02:38 PM

Ladies... I'ms SOOOO sorry I haven't written today. It's been really hectic. :(

And I will read all the posts and respond after my 3:00 meeting.

But I just have to say that I had a REALLY bad lunch. I think it may have been like 20 points... I don't know.

I had half of a buffalo chicken sandwhich and mashed potatoes.. which I got instead of the fries... but it was pretty obvious that the mashed potatoes had lots of butter in them. Also, we had one of the onion blossoms, and I ate my fair share of that. I'm guessing 6 points for half the sandwhich, 8 points for the mashed potatoes (b/c of all the butter) and 6 points for the onion blossom. And that's 20. And I feel so sick now. I could have eaten like half of that and been satisfied... so I'm pretty bummed out and wish I could just take it back. I just shouldn't have gone. Because we're having people over to watch survivor and we're making dinner. I just might not eat with everyone and have a salad or something. :(

I'll write later and say hello... I just had to get that off my chest. I do feel gross.

Lisa

Sweater Girl 04-05-2001 03:19 PM

My tummy is sore, I am wondering if taht's from my pizza meal last night. I am not used to eating so much in one sitting, oh well.... maybe it's from all the caffiene I've been consuming... Early to bed for me tonight:)

Belle: I am sorry about your cold... I am scared I may come down with one too... I realized though I had a fairly healthy winter overall which is good, I am usually sniffling from Nov-Apr.

Sarah: Enjoy the food!

Brenda: I am terrible for staying up late and then doing either reading or watching TV, then I wonder why my snooze button is my best friend in the morning.

Lisa: Just remember lunches like that do happen and the best thing to do is move on and forget about it. The French fries still probably would have been the worse bet overall, so picking something else is good. The best thing to do is learn and move on from the experience.

Shalyne: It took me a while not to go into Canada's Layne Bryant equivalent (called Addition-elle). I was pretty much kicked out of the store by the manager after she realized how much weight I had lost (I was about a 16 at this point). She told me to just go to the regular stores (I had been a loyal customer for years, she was really nice about it and knew me well). After that I never looked back and have never shopped in a solely plus size store again. My mom is funny she is drowning in all of her clothes but refuses to shop at a plus size store again as well (she's I guess about a 16W right now). Oh yeah GET RID OF THE STUFF THAT IS TOO BIG FOR YOU:)

Emily: I am so happy for you about the house! That is awesome:)

Trish: did you try running yesterday? Good Luck with that!

Kay: Oh I am going to work in a legal profession so I am sure I'll get allnighters there too. At least I can pull them off now (it was harder when I was heavier).

Becky: I am compared to Rachel as well a lot. A lot of fun and slightly quirky. I know I can be a slight Monica as well and take on the burdens of the world (which aren't even mine and then make them mine and stress about it). It's weird, in my main clique of friends there are three girls and you could easily make the argument that I am the Rachel, another one of my friends is the Monica and my best friend is the Phoebe (right down to hair colour as well for all three of us). Man that's sad I just compared my friends with the ones on TV (hmmm, I am trying to figure out where my guy friends would fit in to the equation).

Jen: my mom has been losing like "lose a lot, gain a little, maintain and lose a lot", our bodies tend to go into weird cycles. A good friend of mine has been having problems losing her PG weight, so you are far from alone on that. I have been bad about teh SELF challenge. I have been doing most things except for stretching (well I do stretch in aerobics and stuff, but I should do more).

Kim: Hi, how are ya doing?

Take Care!

Ali

Is it Friday yet???

Hi Ladies!

I voted to get rid of my stretch marks. I would also like smaller boobs, they were a 36D even at 150lbs and a size 10. Now I squeeze into a 36-38DD and I hate it!!! Plus they have that gravity pull thing going on :(

WEll, I can not wait until this weekend. I also can't wait to see if I lost any more weight. I have been doing good this week and am crossing my fingers.

Ali and Brenda~ I don't know how you gals can stay up late...I have to go to bed early otherwise I am a basketcase. I stress about not getting enough zzz's. Like if I don't the whole day is going to be worthless :( I'm sure that's just a mental thing.

Lisa~ don't worry about the lunch...you did well not choosing the fries. I'm sure you will make up for it with dinner.

Emily~ CONGRATS!!!! So soon you get the keys??? WOW, it must have been empty huh.

Gotta go~ good luck to all that weigh in and Feel better soon Belle!!!

Later!!

sbirdhr 04-05-2001 03:58 PM

gettin' ready to go

Yeah, I had a chance to chekc in again before I go. I forgot to tell you earlier that I ran a whole mile yesterday for the first time! I ran .75, then walked and ran another .25! I Was so psyched and proud of myself. I will see if I can do it again today.

I have already eaten 15 points so I hope I don't go too crazy at dinner. It is so nice outside, I may try to rake or go for a walk after the gym. I can always use the extra points!!!! Plus tomorrow is WI and I am pretty sure that I am going out to lunch since I am going to my company's office in Annapolis ( I am always at client's never at the company). Yikes!

Ok, time to go and enjoy the rest of my day! bye everyone!
