hello girls, hope everyone is doing ok. good luck with WI, well done on losses, get well soons to those that need them!

glad to hear you all understand now that when i take the tube to work, i don't mean the tv! ali - i think it is just a generic use these days, shame cos it probably did mean something more specific years ago. yup - just asked my boss about it and it used to only mean the deep underground lines, but nowadays everyone uses it to mean the whole underground. still, at least the darn thing was up and running again today. and so was i. :smug:
lolly - bad girl. cadbury's creme eggs are on sale in the united kingdom of great britain and northern ireland all year round. not just england! ;) just sticking up for the scots, welsh and irish there!
personally i'm mad on cabury's mini eggs. creme eggs make me feel sick.
ooh, and i had NO cake yesterday! hooray! (the gannets at work quickly polished them off and i was safe). thanks for all the support, i'd have felt v guilty if i'd given in!
today is friday (for those who aren't quite with it yet) and i'm in charge of the weekly office treats (usually wine, olives, nachos and salsa). which is good because (A) i get to go out the office purely to wander round marks and spencer's food hall and (B) i can make sure we get some low-point stuff in. they've got lots of cool harry potter sweets (candies?!) and cakes in at the moment. i might buy a sorting hat to see what house i get put in (gryffindor please!).
cadbury's milk tray usually refers to a box of chocolates. the choccies are milk chocolate, some with soft centres (orange, strawberry), some hard, some nuts, some coffee etcetc. i should stop now...
can't wait to read everyone's fave recipes - tag them onto that recipe thread i started if you like...

suppose i should start work now...speak to y'all later,
kirsty

Ding Dong the Witch is Dead!

Had to post my overwhelming excitement over the fact that Jerri was voted off last night. Yay!
I am going to an office retreat today, and so that should be fun... then my father is coming into town (from Lennox-Vegas, Ali) to spend the weekend with me! So that should be fun.
Have a great day:)

I should tell ya of the cool compliments that I received yesterday, these were actually non-weight loss ones. One of my old high school friends says I just look happy all the time now. This is cool, because my natural demeanor is kind of serious (though it honestly doesn't reflect my personality). She also says she's happy that I am happy with myself which was really cool. The next was from one of my college friends, he says he sees my true self shining through and is happy that I am now sharing it for the world to see!

I am also going back to being a blond. I keep having a need to express my individuality, is this weird? I want tattoos, piercings and to dye my hair again (mayeb it's a quarter-life crisis;)). To contrast this though, I can't see myself losing my preppy clothes (I am a prep, c'est la vie, I bought some really nice clothes yesterday, size 9 at Dynamite).

Kirsty: Thanks for the info, I'll tell my dad, he's really into slang and likes to be updated on stuff like that. It's funny for about a month after I came back from teh UK this past summer, I kept using British slang, but I have lost a lot of it now (including the phrase, I gotta get it all sorted).... Unknown fact about me, when I am really tired I pronounce everything in an English way (with a Canadian accent though, it's funny). My parent's still have their accents (or as they say, they don't have accents, us kids do;) ) so I think that is why I find myself talking like that (or as my parents say I start speaking properly). Gryffondor rocks (I love the Harry Potter books)!

Belle: Well I am moving out of Lennoxville on April 25th and to Ottawa within a week of that (I should know by tomorrow which day). My parent's pretty much live at the half-way point between Sherbrooke and Ottawa (being slightly closer to Ottawa). Come to Ottawa one day! I would love to meet ya (and I'll try to get to Calgary one day too, my good friend has a daughter I have yet to meet and she's almost a year and a half now, so my friend keeps trying to get me to come visit her and her family <she put her daughter on the phone last time I talked to her, it was so cute> ).

To everyone else *hugs* and hellos!

Take Care!

Ali

Sweater Girl 03-30-2001 07:36 AM

Lola: Enjoy the retreat! have you been to the mall in Sherbrooke recently? It's looking a lot nicer now (the have a bay where part of the Eaton's was and put a whole bunch of new stores there as well like the GAP and Yves Rocher), I was impressed. I also like Simmons a lot as well, their clothes are so nice (they should put a Simmons in Fairview).

Take Care!

Ali

Lolabooey 03-30-2001 07:39 AM

A GAP in Sherbrooke? Wow. Very impressive. During my time, the Carrefour was a bit skimpy. I hate to admit it, but I haven't been to the Townships in over a year... my father usually comes here to visit. I should, though. I miss the Lion (although their chicken wings helped send me to WW).

Shalyne 03-30-2001 08:45 AM

Hi Everyone :) Busy here this morning... It's raining out. Yuck. It's not supposed to rain on the weekend! I'm hoping it'll clear up but I'm not sure if it will. Have no idea what I'm doing this weekend yet. Anyone have any interesting plans? Well, just wanted to say hi. I need to finish waking up LOL.

tilley 03-30-2001 08:55 AM

Good morning girls!

Kirsty - good going with the cake. Way to hang in there!

Ali - that sounds awesome. I'm sure those comments made you feel great.

The weather here SUCKS.. It's worse than rain, it's worse than snow - it's slush falling from the sky. Will this crap ever end? Where is spring already?

I did well with the enchalada dinner. It was delicious. And I had my roommate put less cheese and less chicken in the two enchaladas on the end.. so they may have been less than 8 points.. but I counted them as 8 to be on the safe side. I had one and a hlaf last night and I brought the left over half for lunch today. Then everyone had ice cream for dessert.. and I had sorbet instead. So I was still under by one point at the end of the evening.

I was SOOOOOOO glad Jerri was voted off. They still have the tribe advantage. SHe's such a you-know-what! SHe was shocked and it was hilarious. My friends and I were cheering!!!

Have a great FRIDAY!!!!

Lisa

TonyaLyn 03-30-2001 09:34 AM

Good morning ladies!!!! :)

I am so excited that it is Friday!!!!!!!

Lisa ~ I knew your dinner would be fab, glad to see you stuck within your points!

Shalyne ~ The weather is the same here, really dreary. Will it ever shine out??? :(

Ali ~ I am so happy for you with all the compliments you are getting. Nothing feels better, and you deserve them!!! :) I am also pretty much a preppy, but since I have lost 35 pounds, have found that I have highlighted my hair (which is pretty much blonde anyway, but I thought it was sort of a change), bought some pretty trendy clothes and more form fitting ones, and had my belly button pierced. Change is good, and my DH says I am "sexier than ever!". (Oh, and I have a tattoo too, but got that while in college).

Kirsty ~ I really enjoy hearing about your day-to-day life. Our slang is different, and culture for that matter. I have never been able to travel overseas, I wish I could. I love seeing how others live and the differences in lifestyles. :)

What are some traditional things you all did when growing up? For us, here in Wisconsin, we did a lot of piling in trucks, getting beer, and having pasture parties til dawn with bonfires. (I know, very unsafe; beer, fire, trucks, not good, but boy, were they fun!!! :))

Well, now I am sad cause I am reminising over the old days and high school, man, was that fun. Ok, Tonya, reality check, anyway, I have been staying OP this week, and walking every day, so hopefully my WI will be good on Sat.

Well, it has taken me about 20 minutes to type this, so for those of you I missed, sorry!! And a big "Hello!"

Check in later....

LoriD 03-30-2001 09:35 AM

Happy Friday everyone! It's disgusting weather-I woke up to SNOW! I thought this was all over with...oh well...I am on call tonight which means I get to spend the next 30 hours in the hospital...I need to not snack at all of the nurses' stations...WI is tomorrow morning this week-I change the day almost every week b/c of my schedule...think I'll end up doing ok after all of the ups and downs this week but I'll let y'all know.
Bye for now-lori

Jen-L 03-30-2001 09:36 AM

HI All

I ran through the house cheering when Jerri was voted off. Funny thing yesterday... I heard the Las Vegas odds for the winner and Jerri had the best odds. How weird is that??? Last night she ticked me off when she refused to pick names fairly. She showed her true bagginess!!!

Last night I got my hair cut finally and made an appointment to get highlights put in. When we voted on hair coloring, I voted that I never had it done, but am thinking about it. Actually, my goal was to lose 15 pounds before I could... but I switched it to 10. I couldn't get an apointment until April 17th, so I may be down 15 by then!!!

Tonight we are sending Emma over to my Bro and Sis-in-law with there 2 crazy kids. We are going to the theatre (not movie... performing arts), so Emma needs to be babysat!!

WE have this crappy sleaty snow coming down and I could scream. We still have snow piles here and it is almost April! UGHHHHHH. I want spring NOW!!!

Well, gotta fly... I have payroll to get done and also have to do an interview for a job opening we have. I hate interviewing people!!

Kirsty 03-30-2001 09:50 AM

just had to say

it's all sunny and springlike here! but don't worry, we're predicted rain for tomorrow.
enjoy your night out jen!
lori - no snacking. can you bring low-point snacks with you?
tonya - when i was growing up we used to go camping in the middle of nowhere and drink lots (oh, and kiss boys!). or if someone's parents were on holiday we'd all party there. but once it was legal to drink (or you looked like you were 18 - our legal drinking age) we were off to the pub. and nothing much has changed since... ;)
lisa - well done on your points! i bet you feel proud.
shalyne - are you feeling better?
lola - enjoy the retreat.
ali - woo hoo on the compliments!
i got two emails today from friends that i went to a party with last weekend. both were telling me that this guy had told them he thought i was "amazing". i tell you, men are a sucker for long, blonde hair!! it's funny, but i never got such attention before i lost the weight, and i don't think your size should be how attractiveness is judged. i always look at faces. but there you go. haven't told BF yet in case he gets jealous! but he's got nothing to worry about.
work work work, only a bit to go till i'm off to markies!!

kirsty

TxAggie 03-30-2001 09:51 AM

It's Friday!

Good morning all. I went to bed so early last night that I feel great this morning. I didn't go to the gym because I was so tired last night. Oh well, I'll just go tonight.

Kirsty ~ good going on the cake. All the talk of chocolates makes me crave (that darn PMS)!

Ali ~ Those are the best compliments to get. People also say that I have more of a serious/proper demenor, too! I just tell them its plain Southern Manners. Once most people get to know me they notice my really sarcastic sense of humor. Many of the people I hang out with are not from the South and don't understand a lot of the etiquitte things we do down here. I guess I'm just not with the times :). Go for the blonde! I think it would look fab on you. Its not just you that is having a quarter century crisis. I want to change my look too, but I already have a tatoo!

Lisa ~ Try to post the enchilada recipe! I love mexican food. It sounds heavenly.

Hi Lola and Shaylene.

This talk of the GAP makes me want to go shopping. Thats the only store ya'll we're talking about that we have here. I just bought some of the loose fit jeans and I love them. The only problem is that they are already too big (darn). I guess I'll just have to give them away now...

I think I'm going to save my money and go to the outlet mall before the cruise to stock up. That gives me about 5 weeks to meet goal and go a little lower. eeek!

Hello to everyone else! I'll check in later.

bye now,
Kay

P.s. - I'll post a recipe I have for lettuce wraps. Very tasty!

Brenda N 03-30-2001 09:54 AM

HELP!!!

Someone brought in Lamar's doughnuts!!! I'm eating my vanilla oatmeal right now and I HAVE TO STAY OUT OF THE KITCHEN. I was already tested once and passed on the grocery store doughnuts that were in there when I came in. I have a BADBADBAD weakness for doughnuts (Trish!). These kind are especially good.

I haven't had time to read posts today but had to come for some support. I was at 25 points for yesterday! I'm so excited. Here is the challenge......the weekend. We can do it!

Oh, I'm feeling weak. Must...........resist...........ignore...........e vil...........food...!!!

Kirsty 03-30-2001 09:56 AM

if i didn't eat cake then you can't eat doughnuts.
don't do it!!!

Jen-L 03-30-2001 10:19 AM

Ohhhh donuts..... I love them to, but when I look at them now, all I can think about if how incredibly high in points they are. My faves are about 9 points.... UGGGHHHHH. Still love them and sometimes I splurge on a cake donut.... BUT BRENDA... if you eat your oatmeal, you can't have donuts because you already ate your breakfast. Tooo bad, you lose out!!!! :)

TxAggie 03-30-2001 10:50 AM

Go Away donuts!

Brenda ~ If I can give up my Cigs today, then you can give up the donuts. How 'bout we support each other on the addictions today? Donuts are bad for the body like Cigs are bad for the body. Just think of all the nasty grease that will coat your insides and I'll think of the nasty tar and chemicals. Good Luck!

Belle2000 03-30-2001 10:58 AM

Moving...

YUCK!! Last night I moved LOTS over and my mom and sister helped me to unpack and arrange some things. I am taking tonight off cuz tomorrow is the big day. It was sort of fun and I met a guy in the elevator - he was pretty cute and said he loved living htere - had been there three years already. I hope that's true!!

My mom made an awesome dinner last night, very WW except Sara Lee bite size Cheesecakes (3 points each). I had two. I figure all the moving counted as 1 more booster point, so 3 in total (hope!).

I am having the WORST TOM!!! Anyone else?

And then at 12am a hottie cop came ringing our bell - seriously, we were asleep and they came b/c some brat kids had kicked my mom's taillight in. Seh was distraught. THey caught the little buggars. I am sending her flowers today, should cheer her up a bit.

Kirsty - I thought the tube was a TV too. Good you didn't eat the cake, although it spurred some interesting conversation...??

Ali - that is a very cool compliment!! Ih ope I am happier now that I am getting a place of my own. I hope I am not too lonely!!!

Lola - have fun on your retreat!

Hi to Shay, Bren, Lolly, Lisa, Lori, Emily, Jen, Tonya, Sarah, Steph, Kristen, Becky, Kierie and the rest of the gang.

Belle

tilley 03-30-2001 11:06 AM

Hello again!

Tonya - sounds like you had fun in HS. We did some of the same but on the beach. Or we'd drive over to New Orleans. It was only 45 minutes away and the drinking age was only 18 :)

LoriD - How bad does this weather suck. Will it ever end? Good luck staying away from the snacks at the nurses' stations. I know you can do it.

Jen-L - have fun tonight without the kiddie! I'm sure you deserve it.

Kay - I'll post the recipe at the end of this message. It's WAY good... and you can use less cheese or light cheese and make it even less points. Be sure to calculate the points for yourself too, because the different brands of tortillas and cheese, etc can make a difference. (I'll say what brands I used thought). I love MEXICAN food.

Brenda - GO AVS! Good game last night. And by the way, that's not glaze on those donuts... it's snot.

Okay - here's the recipe... it's a rough recipe, but here it goes:

8 8-10 inch flour tortillas (I used Mission)
3 cups of cheese (I used half sargento light and have reg sargento)
6-8 green onions (scallions)
taco seasoning
1 large can green enchalada sauce (or two small cans)
1 pound chicken breast

Cut the chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes. Cook in a skillet (use Pam)... add taco seasoning and appr. 1 scallion for seasoning.

Preheat over to 375.

Dip each tortilla in enchalada sauce so it's covered in the sauce. Place tortilla in a large bake pan. Add chicken, cheese, scallions, and a little more sauce in each tortilla. Roll up the tortillas side by side.

Add remaining enchalada sauce and cheese over the tops of the enchaladas.

Place in the over and cook for 15-20 minutes.

Mmmmm. They're good. Each one was 8 points.. so it's not exactly low-points... but if you plan for it during the day, you can have 1 1/2 of them for 12 points. Like I said, maybe you can find low fat tortilllas (although I can never find them in 8-10 inch sizes) and use all lowfat cheese - and maybe you can bring them down a few points. Okay - now I'm hungry :)

FRIDAY!!!!

I’m still resisting the doughnuts. I’ve even had to go by the kitchen and I’m remaining strong. I had to keep repeating nononononononono as I walked by. Jeez, I feel like a food lunatic. Lunch time and afternoon is another weak time so I must be very careful. Thanks for the support, it really is helping!

Survivor fans: I didn’t watch it last night but I was also ecstatic to hear the Jerri was voted off! Hopefully she doesn’t come back in the jury and screw things up!

Kirsty: Good job turning down the cakes! Glad you got to work without a hassle. The Hallmark stores here are full of Harry Potter paraphernalia! I want to join you in Griffindor. I’ll send you an owl post heheheheh I have a Harry Potter calendar in my office!! This month is Ron riding a broom. My DH and I trade stories about when people flirt with us/hit on us. Before we got married some girl told him she wanted him to come back to her house for the night so she could fix him breakfast in just an apron! This was after he told her he had a g/f! We joke about it and I say ‘Where is she, I’ll kick her a$$!!’

Ali: What wonderful compliments! Were you glowing even brighter for the rest of the day or what??

Tonya & Ali: I’ve never really dressed with the trends, but now since I’m losing weight, I find that I want to get some more trendy clothes but keep to my own style as well. It’s funny when my co-worker and I go out shopping b/c she buys VERY trendy stuff. We have a blast though. I don’t know if I will ever be comfortable enough to wear one of those back baring little tie around the neck things, but we’ll see!

Tonya: I was a deprived child. I’m the oldest and a girl with extremely strict parents. I didn’t get to party in HS and my year and a half in college was at a kind of wanna be school (no football team, one fraternity, no sororities and in a boring boring town). I have kind of lived vicariously through my DH’s stories. He was a hellion and always got away with it. Maybe this is all part of the reason I now want to go get a tattoo, hang out drinking in the Carribean (never went on Spring Break either) etc. It doesn’t really bother me, but I’ve been gradually making up for it *evil grin*

Lisa: Spectacular job OP yesterday! I love fixing low fat/fat free yogurt with Cool Whip free and put it in the freezer. It makes a great low point ice cream type snack.

Jen: What movie are you guys going to see?

Belle: I’m so excited for you in your new place!

Brenda N 03-30-2001 11:13 AM

Lisa

You posted while I was writing. Ewwwww...snot! I'm so glad they won last night. Once again I missed the game and I'm in training for the Sat game. But! I'm home Monday and Wednesday night so I may have to make a hockey date in front of the toob (hehehe) with my hubby!!!

Trish O 03-30-2001 11:22 AM

Hey guys, soooo busy at work. Just have a min. Brenda, we have donuts in my office, too. AHHH> But you know what, the person who spit on Kirsty's cake came to my office and spit on my donuts. He mentioned that he was on his way to Denver to visit your office as well.

Boy, some mad treat-spitter is out there. Too bad we won't be able to eat any of those donuts.

Hello to eveyone else.

Trish

Wooohooo, one more class left for the Week

Wheee, lived through discussions on British politics during the latter 19th Century.

A general question: I am meeting my potential roomate tomorrow at her place, should I buy something to be hospitable like daisies or something? I'd like to.

Kirsty: Cool, compliments. Yeah a lot of men are suckers for beautiful blonds:) Though I am dying my hair blond for the simple reason that I feel like it:)

Belle: My shed got robbed last year and someone stole our generator (generators have been a hot commodity since the ice storm of 98), so the cops came by. Boy the cops that come by on the late-night shifts are really hot:) Hmmmm hot guy in your building, that is soo cool as well! Good Luck on moving day! Other than that, I am sorry that your mom's car got vandalized. Happened here my first month at Bishop's, I had had my car for just over a month, so I can understand how upsetting that can be (this year someone backed into my car, at least she was honest about it).

Shalyne: The weather is majorly sucking here as well. Have a good weekend.

Lola: well the outside of the carrfour is still kind of in that scuzzy 1970s architecture, but the inside is pretty nice. especially around the new boutiques, but it's funny it goes from low-end stores to high-end boutiques as well, it's very diverse. Yeah I will miss the townships, I wouldn't mind coming back down during the summer to bike for a day and have dinner at the Pilsen Pub (I love that place).

Kay: yeah I have a slightly sarcastic and dark sense of humour, which most people don't realize I possess until they really get to know me, but they all like it. I am glad I am not alone on the whole quarter-life crisis thing:)

Brenda: The guy who spat on the cake at Kirsty's office has spat on the doughnuts at your place:)

Tonya: my clothes are preppy, but form fitting too (though for the shirt I am wearing today I had to bring out my padded sweater bra, it makes me look like a 'b', I know TMI). I like being able to wear tight stuff:)

Jen: Highlights are sooo addcitive, but they're great. I started getting them done and before I knew it I was a full-fledged blond. I am thinking about getting light and medium blond highlights at the same time to then merge with my natural hair colour, but it will give me the overall "blond" look.

Lori: Good luck on your 30 hour shift! I envy and admire anyone who goes through residency. Yucky snow.... I know March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, not this year:(

Suz78 03-30-2001 11:31 AM

Resist the donuts, cigarettes, and everything else!

hello! TGIF!

This thread is busy today....I returned after an hour and there were like 10 new posts!

Okay, I am 23 and I still get pimples....bad. I have a huge mountain on my forehead and it hurts. Anyone else still get them? Any weird remedies to try?

WEll, not much is going on. Good luck resisting all the food demons.

Later!

Sweater Girl 03-30-2001 11:31 AM

Trish: You posted when I did, but yeah that pastry spitter is a very busy guy:) Tonight I get a vegan muffin with chocolate on it which are only 3 points and boy are they yummy (155cals, 1 g of fat), the pastry spitter will most likely be away from Canada I hope;).

Suzanne: I am also 23 and have just had the worst breakout in about 3 years. My advice is just to leave it alone and hopefully it'll be better within the next couple of days. If it really hurts, I numb them with ice, but that's all I can think of. take care.

Jen-L 03-30-2001 12:09 PM

Brenda... Not a Movie... are are going to "the Theatre". Gonna see a one man opera called Ravenshead. My parents get season tickets and are on vacation... so we get the tickets. It is something about a ship wreck or something like that. The description confused me, but hey, it's a night out! And after all, I have babysat my bro's kids zillions of times, so now its their turn! Plus my 5 year old neice LOVES Emma! Her name is Greta... How is that for 2 little german girls!!!

Forgot to share... finally found the first Brigett book. I also got the 2nd one because it was 25% off! Can't wait for the movie!

Suzanne... I am almost 29 and still get a pimple here and there. Annoying buggers. I think some people are destined to always have them. Don't pick at them and they will go away faster. Hubby likes to pick at his and it drives me nuts! He still gets them too!

I am splitting a half of a 9 inch pizza with hubby for lunch. YUMMMMMM.... Yesterday I had a really crappy day and bought a bottle of coke.. 5 points. BUT, ended with only 26 for the day. AWESOME!!

Oh, and I am not going blond because I think I would look bad as a blonde (but always did want to try it!)... anyhooo, I am going for natural auburn colored highlights. Who knows, I am leaving it in the hands of my hair lady... we'll see what she does. But I have to wait until the 17th!

StaceyT 03-30-2001 12:16 PM

Friday!! Yippee!

Finally the weekend!
We're off to the first competetion event weekend for racing. Nope, not the NASCAR race, though I wish...
I'm leaving early today so I have to make this short.
Belle: Good luck with the moving.
Kay: Kick @ss with no cigs! Good luck!
Brenda: NO Donuts! They give you digestional distress.
Hee hee fancy talk for potty talk.
Trish: Have a great, relaxing weekend!
Kirsty: I can't wait until the next Harry Potter book comes out!! Make J.K. hurry up!! :) I always wondered what their treats would taste like. Hey, they could put a spell on them to be calorie and fat free but still taste the same and not make you sick!
JenL: I get my hair cut on Tuesday night. I can't wait, I'm resembling the Shaggy Dog! Ooh, highlights are my favorite!! They are subtle, yet enough to notice!
Lori: That sucks about the weather. Does it make a difference with the patients at the hosp? or is everyone used to it?
Lisa:Yummy! Thanks for the recipe. I'm definitely trying it!
Tonya: Bonfires, beers and trucks sounds like a ton of fun! Our thing now is racing, then beer, then beer and then beer. :spin:
Ali: That's cool about the compliments. It's amazing how weight loss not only affects appearance, but personality as well!
Shaylne: Yep, it's supposed to rain in OKC this weekend, too, but luckily I'll be in Texas. It better not rain there!
Lola: Ding Dong!!! I, too, yelled and cheered out loud when I saw the small print of Jerry's name! Colby writes small like that! But, I hope she doesn't come back and mess things up in the end. Maybe some real food will "mellow" her bitc*ness. hmmm
Ok, I must get back to work, I've been sneaking these posts in. I truly hope I didn't forget anyone and if I did, yell at me.
Have a great weekend and I'll try to be back around!

1busymomma 03-30-2001 01:06 PM

Hi all! I know, long time no hear. LOL. Sorry. My hubby and I have been busy purchasing our first house!!! HOORAY! We found a good one right near us for 32,000. It's a manufactured home in a park area. We are waiting to find out if we have been approved yet or not. It's seems like it's taking forever althought it's only been a few days. We find out on monday for sure if we are proud home owners or not. So, I am a nervous wreck right now.

It's 4 bedroom and has 2 living rooms with 2 bathrooms huge kitchen, dining room and washer/dryer room tons, of closets. Also has a garage, nice deck that the previous owners built on it and a great back yard for the kids. It's a repo'd home so that's why we are getting it for so cheap.

In the weight loss dept. Well on monday I had a 2 pd loss. I've cheated some this week, I've been so hungry from all the weightlifting that I have been doing! Today my goal is to make up a salad to snack on instead. That's what I should have been doing all along. *sigh* live and learn I suppose.

Well gonna run for now I will chat with you all soon. Just wanted to let you know that I was still alive and kickin'!!! LOL

Hey stranger!

Emily: That's great about the house!! How awesome!
I've been having snack attacks, too. Mine have been in the evening, though.

I wanted to share a cool thing:
I was standing at the receptionist's counter in the waiting area of the office this morning. One of my co-workers came in the door and said, "You look so skinny standing there!" I almost started crying with joy, but then I thanked her and then proceeded to move all my stuff up front so I could work while standing there! :)
That was really neat!
Ok, back to work.
Have a great afternoon!

Tell me about pimples!

Suzanne, SYMPATHY! I am 25 and I NEVER had pimples when I was a teenager but now they seem to come up all the time. At the moment I have millions, I think because I haven't been sleeping well and ... erm ... I pick at them (TMI?). I have really dry skin too, so they get sore. ANYway, my best remedy is Savlon, always works a treat except of course I can't get it here in Spain ... if you can't get Savlon I guess any antiseptic cream would do. I put it on before I go to bed.

Stacey, Ali - WOO HOO on the compliments! That is so cool!

And Brenda, I know what you mean about wanting to try trendier clothes now. All the way through school and the first few years of college I would wear anything that fit ... I didn't have jeans for years, but I did have a Laura Ashley pinafore (this is like, 10 years ago before they revamped) that made me look pregnant. Now I have bootleg jeans and a teeny t-shirt with flowers and glitter on the front! Maybe for the summer I'll get one of those bak-baring tops ... but only after LOTS of fake tan ...

Emily! Good to see you again! And YIPPEE on the house, I have everything crossed it's good news on Monday.

Belle - Thai is lots like Chinese. Avoid curries with coconut milk and the deep fried starters. If they have sweet and sour fish, that is GOOD and if they have mixed seafood, even better. Hot and Sour soup is only about 2 points and sticky rice is steamed not fried so not many points there. I LOVE Thai - ENJOY!!!

Jen, Ali, I got highlights for the first time just before Christmas, a mixture of blonde and chestnut "for texture" the hair lady said. I really like them, and they got rid of the line from my last attempt to dye it myself. Must get it done again when I get home (blonder for the summer?). Let us know how it turns out!

Kay, Trish, Brenda - good luck on staying away from ciggies and donuts. I have 3pts left for my chocolate tonight! YIPPEE!

Oh, and Milk Tray is not just chocolate, it's a whole cultural phenomenon. Really! They had all these adverts in the seventies with a man in black, kind of a cross between James Bond and the SAS, and he would be scaling cliffs and walls and flying helicopters and climbing mountains and then in the end he would climb through a window and leave the chocolates ... and the slogan would come up 'And all because the lady loves Milk Tray'. Ultra-Romantic! (If very machista) Chocolates are good, too.

Anyway, better dash. Hugs to everyone I missed, adn have a FABBY weekend - remember, JOURNALJOURNALJOURNAL!!!

Hi Everyone :) Well it's still snowing/sleeting here. Fun fun. I wanted to go shopping to the mall sooo badly earlier but I stepped outside and almost fell so I figured it probably would be better to stay in! LOL Okay I have a question... has anyone seen either The Mexican or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon? Anything good or bad to say about either of them? I'm trying to formulate a plan for tomorrow and a movie would probably be part of it, but I wasn't sure which one to pick. Any other movies out that are good??

Thank you for all the get well wishes! :) I finally sound somewhat like myself again. I'm so excited! LOL I was getting tired of croaking. I discovered it's very hard to talk on the phone that way too.

Anyways... I'm off to finish my house cleaning. Hope you all have great weekends!

Heartbreakers

Shayle~ me and my friend went to see Heartbreakers last weekend and I thought it was funny....it is pretty rounchy though. A mother and daughter scam artist team that marries guys and then divorces them. I have weird tast in movies though so I don't know if you would like them. I heard the Mexican wasn't really that great but I want to see it just to see Julie with Brad :D

I can't wait to go home!!!!!!!

Lolly and Ali~ yes, the pimple situation is bad. So bad that I went on that birth control tri-cyclen to get rid of it but had to stop cause it was making me neaseus. Boyfrind makes fun of me and insists that I should pop and squeeze all of them but I find that if I leave them alone they go away and won't come back~when I squeeze they come back with fierce avvengence~~~ugh! that was gross huh!

I'm trying to think of a killer april fools joke to play on my bf. Any ideas~I've been searching the internet.

Later!

Suzanne... I do want to see Heartbreakers... BUT lol my guy friend is hesitant enough about getting into a relationship, didn't know if it would be wise to go to a movie like that, wasn't sure how discouraging it was since I haven't seen it LOL... what do you think?
