Hi everyone. I'm bushed.

I forgot to post my WI from last night...up 1.4 pounds. Yes, that's up one point four. Judy, we are together in this minor hiccup, I'm afraid.

So, I have renewed my commitment today, and for the first time in two weeks got 80 oz of water in, which I used to make my minimum. I also wrote down every last bite. I feel much better, taking these actions.

Sleep for this little turtle. xo

Hi, Turtles,

A short note, just to check in. I'm maintaining, which is good news, actually. I had a difficult day yesterday and I haven't been doing my tapes. I discovered why this morning. I felt a bit off all day yesterday. This morning I woke up with a raging cold. So, I'm taking care of the cold and I'll worry about the weight when I'm better.

I can still write, though. My current total is 19,023.

I'll try to change to a new thread later, after the medicine kicks in.

Move, guys.

Hi Guys,
I had a good day yesterday and then right before bed I wolfed down 10 points worth of food. The old me would have been so sad and guilty that I could have given up. The new me recorded it this morning and took the ten points out of the Flexpoints. That's the genius of this new WW's plan. You did it, you cross off the points, and you move on. Today is another day. I'll be more diligent.
Having friends in tonight and she's bringing a WW style dessert.
I'm going shopping now to pick up some makings for sandwiches and maybe I'll make a soup and have salad fixings ready too. Soup and salad on a cold night sounds fine.
My sisters are busy making arrangements for my Dad and I think I'll be getting together with them for next week sometime.
Through all of this I want to remember to have a full and happy life like my Dad. He set a good example.

You guys are the best. I want to make getting fit my top priority.
Choosewell, this is just a temporary glitch for us. Baby steps gets us right back on track. Drinking the water, glug glug, is a great place to start. You can do this and so can we all.
:grouphug:

Lin, feel better soon. Colds really are miserable. I always forget how bad I feel until I get the next one. Here's cheers that it's short and you feel great soon.

Lauren,
Take care. Here's :goodvibes:

Love,
Judy

Hi Turtles,
Just a quicky to :cp:

Last night we had friends in for dinner. I made flank steak, salad, red potatoes tossed in some olive oil and spices, and corn. For dessert my friend brought FFJello pudding with a sprinkling of graham cracker crumbs and it was yummy with coffee. I pointed the whole thing out. I also was able to get on the treadmill and walk 3/4mile. That was a start. On my home scale I've knocked off the top weight I put on last week and now I'll concentrate on losing another pound!

I hope everyone is feeling and doing well. I'll have lots of challenges coming up because I'll be in Carolina for a few days at the end of next week to pay respect to my Dad and to gather with family. Out of my environment is tough for me, so today I'll make a plan to help me stay OP.

Take care and keep on turtlin'.
Love,
Judy

Just a quick check in to say hi & hope everyone is doing well.

Last night we went to see Mama Mia and it was great. I seen it last year with my WW buddies but wanted my daughter to see it so we all went last night. Had dinner in an Irish Pub so I don't think it was very point friendly. Had the meat loaf w/mashed potatoes but it seem very greasy. I find most pub food very greasy and heavy. I will have to behave myself over the weekend. I am going to other house & sorting out old clothes and hopefully get my house rented soon. Silly to have it sit empty - I could use the extra $ with daughter going to university next year.

Anyway hope everyone has a great weekend. Bye for now.

Judy, big hugs to you and sympathies for your family. Thanks for telling us about your dad. I loved how you pictured his mom calling him and the cows home. What a great place for a former farmer to pass over into the next life! The only pasture in the whole area. I'm sure your dad knew how much you loved him, which is what matters most. (And if he didn't know then, he certainly knows now.) **Hugs** again.

Lin, hugs and chicken soup to you; may your cold pass quickly.

Bandit, I don't like most pub food either. Glad Mama Mia was fun.

Choosewell, good for you not letting this temporary hiccup get you down. (Does anyone still spell it hiccough anymore?)

I'm doing OK. Weight's staying the same. I found another bag of frozen cherries and polished off the whole thing in two sittings (7 points for the bag). I do love sugar, however I get it.

I job-shadowed two liver-transplant coordinators yesterday; they also coordinate some heart and lung transplants. It was fascinating, as I thought it would be. One of the coordinators actually adopted one of her patients. At the time, he was 18 months old and living with awful foster parents who didn't take care of him. She ended up taking him first as a (single) foster mother and then became his adopted mom. He's now five years old and doing very well with his new liver. I learned loads about these transplants, sat through another evaluation meeting, this time for liver patients, and heard the difficult discussions the doctors and social workers have to have.

Also, while I was job-shadowing, a call came in from Gift of Life to see if they'd be interested in organs from a man who wasn't yet pronounced brain dead but would be soon. He was homeless, fell into a local river, was pulled out alive but with head injuries. Really, it takes a special kind of person to do this work. It does help keep other things in perspective.

Hi, Turtles,

I'm typing very slowly in qwerty on my son's computer. Mine is having problems. I can't get online. We're hoping to get it fixed by sometime tomorrow.

The good news is that I can still use mine to write. I'm almost at 25K and working to pass that milestone sometime today.

If you want to copy off my intro and start a new thread, please feel free to do so. My time is limited, so I've got to run. Personal replies when I'm back on my own computer.

Have a great weekend.

Hi Turtles,

Bandit2,
Glad you had a chance to enjoy Mama Mia with daughter. I haven't seen it and it sounds like fun. Pub food is tricky. I find eating out in general to be a challenge. Challenge is a nice word for "stinks". I love to eat out and it's fun to not have to cook, but the hidden oil and sugar, etc. are pretty tough to deal with. I'm glad you are going easy this weekend so you'll continue your weight loss. Here's to finding more compatible :chef:

Lin,
Sorry your computer is on the blink. Not fun, but luckily you can continue your Nano escapade. Here's a :dancer: to celebrate all you're doing.

Lauren,
It seems like frozen cherries at 7 points a bag is okay as long as you point it out and count it in. The work you're doing right now sounds fascinating. I know with liver transplants doctors have incredible ethical decisions to make because of alcohol abuse and destruction of livers. It has got to be a heartbreaking business.
It is fabulous that these transplants are doable now. Medicine's come a long way.

Choosewell,
How are your writing and healthy lifestyle coming along? Here's
:goodvibes: at your :comp:

I had a great day. Out of the blue a carpenter came to replace our front door. He always calls the night before when he can spare a day to do an easy project like this one was. I was freezing all day because it's about 50 degrees here and both doors were wide open all day. However, I ate well. Didn't get on treadmill and I should have to warm up, but I was making arrangements for trip to NC, etc. Have a great weekend and let's keep on keepin' on.
Love,
Judy

Hi, everyone.

Judy congratulations on your new door!

I drove to Houston yesterday to attend a Mystery Writers of America meeting...4 hours each way, but I wanted to hear the talk. A homicide detective was to talk about procedurals. It was my first interaction with other mystery writers, an interesting crowd.

I asked for a vegetarian meal because I wanted to assure some success. When they served it, the meal was a plate of vegetables! No protein. I traded two new potatoes to my neighbor for a slice of her beef. :) I had snacked 4 points on the way down, raisins, 7 almonds, an apple, bag of carrots. Then lunch. So on the way home I was STARVING and succumbed to a Sonic hamb and tots. That's what flexpoints are for.... sigh.

So, I'm doing ok, not stellar but ok. I haven't had enough exer this week again. At least I've got journaling and down again. Baby steps, baby steps.

I'm at 31K words for nano, got in 80 words yesterday, my worst day yet. But I picked up alot of interesting characters at the meeting!

OK, cuties. Off I go to write. and drink water, and walk...for inspiration, if not exercise. choosewell.
