Wheee, another pound, Judy! Way to go! :flow2: 16 pounds in 16 weeks just sounds fantastic. Are you feeling different? And just think, with all that exercise, you're probably increasing your ratio of muscle to fat, too, so in reality you've lost even more fat. Very, very cool.

I would love to see those materials your WW handed out to you. I keep hearing about them from other people. I'm going to go to WW another day next week, maybe Thursday or something, just so I can see about getting those materials.

I don't think there's anything too dangerous about going down to 20 points for a week to jump-start one's self. Everybody's different in this regard. For some people, going that low would be a recipe for a later binge. For others, not seeing the scale move after a long plateau could be a recipe for a binge. You just have to know yourself. And experiment.

I would love to be a high-carb loser, but I don't think I really am at this point. Things that used to work for me 84 pounds ago don't anymore. I think I'll have to accept that I can still have sugary and refined flour treats but only on a once-in-a-while basis.

Veggies definitely have carbs in them. I think that when the food pyramid people advised us to eat more carbs and less fat, they didn't mean the processed kind -- or even necessarily the bread and pasta kind. But that's how people took that advice, because that's what we wanted to hear! Instead, I think it's healthiest to increase our fruits and vegetables and eat the rest in careful moderation. At least for me, and I suspect for many others.

And I can even certainly OD on fruit. No problem. My cherry problem this summer is evidence of that. So I have to watch my fruit intake, too.

Nothing I particularly wanted to hear, but on the other hand I'm excited that I'm finally finding an approach that works for me. That's what I need to focus on because in this struggle as in everything else, attitude is everything!

Beginning day 4 of my plan. Day 3 went fine. I used a few flex points, and I imagine I'll do that daily, since this approach is certainly higher fat. I'm eating nuts and olive oil and proteins in greater quantities than I used to, which makes a difference.

One further point in this already long post ... my emotions have been very interesting as I've been coming off the sugar roller-coaster. More weepy, more easily angered, definitely more blues initially. By late yesterday, I felt myself evening out. Today I feel fine. Makes me wonder how much what I'm eating has been affecting my personality.

Onward and downward,

Lauren

Hi Turtles,
This is going to be fast because my dil has the babies in the tub.
DS and his family are here for the weekend and will be enjoying our Halloween party with us.

Had a little snag last nihgt. I set up a baby's cabinet with Oreos, etc. Well, I must have thought I was a baby too because I started hitting the cookies. I went into Flexpoints and now I realize that every day can be challenging. My job is to act on the challenge in a positive way.

Lauren, I hear you about what used to work and what works now. I am so thrilled that Flexpoints works for me. The low target number is a set point that works. when I need extra food, I eat it, just not on a daily basis. With the exercise I am doing well. The thing that Lauren knows is to keep on tweaking the program when you realize it isn't working the way you want it to.

Listen, I've gotta run. Choosewell and Lin, have a great weekend. I'll pop in when I can. Lauren, thanks for sharing your findings. If you can't find the WW sheets I was talking about PM me your address and I'll send you copies of mine.

Love and good vibes to all. Keep on keepin' on.
Judy
