Hi, turtles. Just a very quick note here, no time for more.

This morning I finally saw 188.5 on the scale!! Whaaaa-hooo! I suspect it's the aerobics. Walking just doesn't seem to have the same effect, maybe because I don't do it quickly enough to really sweat.

Whatever it was, I'll take it! And will do my best to see that I don't gain while on vacation. I'm brining Kashi for breakfast and some Atkins bars (I actually don't mind them, and they hold me forever because of the high protein) for lunches. Dinners will be whatever our hosts fix; I can't control that. I'll just make the best choices I can.

Sorry for no more personal responses, except Judy, I want to see a picture of your meat-eating plant!

:bravo: Lauren. I knew you'd get there. I'm so glad it happened before you left for your fall vacation. You have a great plan and I'm sure you'll be back with a bunch of great stories and maybe a new pic of that gorgeous fall color.

:dance: Judy, 5 times a week for exercise is a great goal. I think it's wonderful that your house will benefit from your acivity. ;)

I'll post a new thread tomorrow. I don't have time today, but I couldn't see Lauren's finally breaking 190 again and not post a congrats!!

Good morning!

I'm so sorry I didn't get to send Lauren off with a pat on the back. Wasn't that just great news? Vacation AND 188.5. :)

My return was delayed a bit, and my mom arrived last night for her visit...but I'm back now, and connected. My studio is at the other end of the house from the wireless hub, and I'm the first one to get bumped off.

Anyway. I reread all our posts, and did stop in once during the week, briefly. Lin, thanks for that greeting mid-week, it was nice to feel part of the group. The trip was a success, weight-wise. I kept portions small, made pretty good choices, and got in 10K steps daily. Water is always hard on travel for me, and after a week of that I'm veeery thirsty, so I'll make up for it now. This morning on the scale (where I rarely go) I saw a new low poundage, so I'm inspired to stay on track between now and Tuesday.

Judy I love that restaurant on the way to the airport story! What a winner. Such a great image. Another great image: Judy dressed as that plant! I hope digital images are coming our way? Maybe you could email attach them to us, if we give your our emails in pms????

I also will be washing windows this week. That effort is good for activity AND brownie points, don't you think Judy?

Lin, Natalie Goldberg is also the person who taught me that all those scribblings were for a reason and to keep them up. When I read her I was dating someone snoopy, and had been keeping my personal journal at work. My dad was also this way...snoopy (there's a lesson in not marrying your father lol) One of the most beloved things about my hub is he wouldn't read a journal if he found it laying around, face up and open...I so love this because I feel completely free to write whatever I want to or need to. It's a good mindset for other writings, isn't it?

What's on the weight loss horizon this weekend? 20 minute slow walks with mom (Turtle Theory applied), healthy meals, which she appreciates, and some longer walks alone. I enjoy having a health-buddy in the house.
